What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 246

Please see the pages above if you're wondering 'what on earth 'or 'how doI?', and if none of that helps, please ask in a comment!
Welcome to WOYWW .  I thought my desk was within reasonable control until I uploaded the photo. It's quite hard to complain at myself, but really - why don't I put stuff away when I've used it instead of apparently and quite literally, dropping it from my hand?  The scissor sharpener being the case in point. Well, one case in point.

I managed an hour long daylight session on Tuesday afternoon...you get to enjoy the fall out.  The card is for a workshop on using batik principles to create backgrounds.  I know you can't see much of it, save that Paper Artsy stem image.  That's one of my all time faves. You can't tell either, but having done tax returns, new vehicle paperwork, VAT returns and a year end analysis, my pile of scratch paper is about 1" high..it's not convenient when you work all over the place like this..things keep falling over the edge!

What are you working on today? We'd love to see the what and the where...put WOYWW in your post title and link the post here so that we can swing by and visit.  It helps ENORMOUSLY if you can turn off word verification...try comment approval instead?  Do some reciprocal visiting and enjoy!

  1. Oh I am feeling so smug that my desk it tidier than yours this week - I now have even all the clutter on the top cleared up - mind you I think that must be it now sitting in the middle of my lovely tidy desk!!

  4. Why don't we put things away after we've used them? I don't know? One of these days someone will have the answer the that questions. Until then, leave it there until you need it again. And you'll need it again right after you put it away.#1

  6. I had that same problem when I took a bunch of supplies to my office when I watched the NBA all-stars game over the weekend. Things kept falling off the hope(less) chest I was using for my desk. So I can definitely empathize with the papers falling off the edges.

Sounds like you are in the middle of a tax nightmare. I hope it went well. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

  12. You are accomplishing so much you make me want to get a burst of energy here at 9:40 p.m. and go back to my desk and make something, or pay something, or fill out a form! Well done. I always love seeing your glasses laying there too, because I feel like you're right there, snapping the photo! Is that an envelope score board laying there? I love mine! Happy WOYWW! 13. Morning Julia. You have no idea how heartening it is to see your desk piled high like that - mine was so very similar about an hour before I stopped work and took my photo. Have a great week.

  14. Your desk isn't so bad. I have a tendency to miss the garbage can so trash ends up on the floor. And I did manage to get some of my work desk cleaned for the next round. Happy WOYWWW!

  15. Feeling a little smug this week as had a massive tidy up in my craft room at the weekend !!!! Driven by the storms we had and the 'what if' the wind blew the roof off my crafty conservatory!!!!!! All that paper flying around etc etc .... So I did a mass tidy up!

  18. Compared to my mess, your desk definitely looks reasonably tidy. Mine is so bad I didn't even bother taking a pic of the actual desk, but did start an art room sort out today, so maybe next week will be the real thing--not even the tray table I usually show!

  20. Wasn't sure if I'd get a post up tonight - spent a stressful day at the hospital with SIL - but it's nice to know that, in the midst of it all, there's a place you can go - a "Cheers" for crafters of sorts - to hang and relax and chill...

Happy WOYWW to you Julia. Thanks for hosting for us each week!

  24. WOW...all that paperwork is done! I'm more than envious. I detest doing that kind of thing. Don't know why, because it's not hard, but it's just the thought of it I guess. Congrats on having some time at your desk...I love getting chunks of time! And not that I understand, but Randy is fine thank you! :)

Most unusual stamp there, not actually seen it before. Lots of interesting bits to poke around in though. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #38 xx

  35. It's great to be back snooping again after weeks of being busy then ill! I love that PA stem too! And Batik effects: that sounds interesting! As you may remember, I don't have a desk as such, but that doesn't stop me filling all available space until everything tumbles to the floor and I can't find that tiny little rusty rose that was the perfect finishing touch! Happy WoYWW. Sorry for the absence! Julie Ann #52 xxx

  37. I love your desk, and am incredibly impressed that you know where everything is! I am OCD about tidying up as a I work and can get the scissors out of the drawer about 20 times during a project rather than keep them on the desk while I work!

  45. Hi Julia, thanks for your visit. It's a shame those everyday task keep intruding into our creative time, we all have to do them, sometimes here it's a bit scary that they get covered over with my craft stuff so I'm practicing keeping them on the fridge out of the way. I'd like to see your batik piece too. Cheers and thanks for hosting WOYWW RobynO#51

  51. I made my post at last. My son has a friend round using the main PC and I needed that for my photos so I had to wait a while for their game to finish (did some harp practice in the meantime) Oh I have given the game away, yes that was what was in my big box of last week, a few people guessed including LLJ.
Think I ought to get a scissor sharpener, your desk is so informative in an informal way LOL BJ#77

  80. Well Julia this is my final destination this week. If you get chance to see my post you will understand why it has taken me so long to get to you.
WOYWW 196 (I think) I had to abandon my desk. Not responding to comments left for me. So I made a promise I would visit every desk 115 of them, and leave a comment as my way of saying sorry to the ladies of 196.
Mission now accomplished I feel I can move on and create again.
I spy a stamp I have been thinking about getting Keiserkraft (spelling ?) The coat stand.
Putting away is not always a good thing, If I drop it down I see it, if I put it away I can never find it again. Too many wrong places to use when in a hurry, then it is in the lost category and I end up pulling the place apart until I find it again.
    So dropping wins for me.
I have really had a ball looking at all of this weeks desks and Thank you for hosting such a fab crafty place for us all to come and play..xx
