Actually, it's Coffee. It always is if it's before 1pm. Oh the things you didn't know about me!
This little vignette set itself up last night actually; the mug of fresh coffee is this morning's addition..I come downstairs, make a cup of coffee and immediately throw myself into my comfy armchair to contemplate life whilst I drink the coffee. I'm bedraggled and usually chilly, and still in bedclothes and a charming fleece dressing gown (robe) that would do any woman of my age proud. It has a tassle on the zip...my daughter thinks this is the last resort in my becoming an old woman. And she's probably right. I did consider removing it when first I bought it, but that only lasted as long as it took me to do the zip up. A practical and attractive embellishment to a zip, I now think! Now that's a real digression folks, just in case you ever thought me incapable of such a thing! I'm linking to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's very civilised Tuesday sharing of cups and tea. It's so nice to join others with a brew.
I was going to try to answer some of the wonderful comments that were made following my post 'Please Sit, there will be questions'. But it's all a bit self evident really, as one reads the Comments. We are a bunch of internet users who, having searched a bit, found a community to be a part of, and we like it that way. And for validation of course. One of the big things that came out of it was some general surprise at my revelation that Julia Dunnit is not my real name. Well, your surprise surprised me! Julia is my name. Given at birth, of course, and chosen as a 'we like it...' type of name because I was the third daughter and they had already used up the two names they assumed they'd need. But Dunnit is made up. And not made up for security or even for reasons of big headedness. Just because it was a fun thing to write on the back of cards I'd made. And so when I started to blog, apparently about my crafting, it seemed sensible to use my craft name. See. Even my interesting parts are dull.
So fuelled by my first coffee, I'm off to face the day. Have a good one. Come back tomorrow to be amazed and erm, horrified by the desk, huh?!
ah, Julia Dunnit :D.. desk time again tomorrow where does it go??
ReplyDelete.. and yes agree with pulls on zips great things!! do enjoy your cuppa, inspiration that.. Shaz in Oz.x
You know Julia, I'd never thought about "Dunnit" (done it)!! How silly am I ? My excuse is that it's been 44.5 degrees C.(110+F.) in Adelaide, and my brain has gone to mush!
ReplyDeleteI had to giggle at the description of your dressing gown.I am a quirky person, and often see funny things/events in terms of cartoons and children's stories.
They say all teachers are mad!Even more so old retired ones!
It's a great name anyway!
ReplyDeleteI really like your crafting name:)
ReplyDeleteWhat are your crocheting (is that a word?:))
Hope you have a good day.
Bwahahaha - I sent my Christmas card to Julia Dunnit :) Duh, asses ears here :)

Tis ok, Di I also thought it was for a long old while. ...but I am a bear of little brain at the best of times lol xxxxx
DeleteI'm very jealous of your Paris mug. I started collecting those mugs last year and I think I'm too late, they seem to have discontinued that version. I have a few from local cities but nothing so exotic! It all looks so cozy and warm!
ReplyDeleteActually, you taught me a LOT about security after I received the WOYWW first anniversary gift from you that Mr. Dunnit made. I realized what it meant to stay anonymous when it came to mail and signing my name to cards and tip-ins. I have you to thank for that.
ReplyDeleteGotta LOVE that beautiful Paris mug. Nothing says good morning more than a beautiful mug to drink coffee from.
Thanks for joining T today. I hope to see you tonight, but we are in the middle of (so far about 3 inches have fallen) a predicted 9-12 inches of snow, so I have NO idea if my internet will make it through the night.
Thanks Mrs D - and I am not really a Twiglet either!! lol. Love the colours of that crochet. x Jo
ReplyDeleteLove your Paris mug! I have one too that I use quite often for my coffee. Interesting about using a pseudo name-I never thought about using anything other than my own-although a French name would be nice :)
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day! Your vignette put itself together beautifully! Nothing is more warm and cozy than a skein of yarn, a hook and a warm beverage!
ReplyDeleteWell Julia, you've really dun-it this time! Love the name, most of us are kicking ourselves for no thinking of it first.....LOL
ReplyDeleteZipper pulls are a clever invention, one that I might have to add to my jeans. I'm over flowing from the holidays, if ya know what I mean.
I don't get to stay all cozy on T-day for long. The gardener usually comes whilest I'm still in my PJs roaming the intranet. Today I got him beat, I'm dressed, the check is made out and I have went out and picked up the dog's offerings. BUT I would rather be in your comfy chair sharing a cuppa!
I love to crochet or knit, first thing in the morning. Loosens up the finger joints and is a great way to meditate first thing before the day starts to creep in. Loved your tale of the fleece robe, lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great T day
~Dawn

Hell Miss Julia, the sun is shining, on your lovely wool, get you linking:O), great you did I loooove Teacup Tuesdays, not that I own any fancy cups, but love to look at them and one of our Magpies plays every week. it was wonderful reading all the comments last week, I learned a long time ago running an art group, the artist community is a creative, positive place, and your coffee house is my favorite place to visit, thanks for having us, have a wonderful day, see ya tomorrow, ((( BIG HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteYour photo looks so cozy, with the crochet supplies, the coffee cup, and the computer. Hope you're having a lovely day. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteit took me ages to realise Dunnit was made up and where it stemmed from - probably until I got an email from you, lol!! I am about to go and get into my dressing gown too, I a shattered today!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours of your wool.
ReplyDeleteI'm still kicking myself for not picking up a 'Paris' mug from the Stratford store during the Olympics (they had a variety of nations/capitals available)now they have very little in the way of beverage containers **boohoo** so I'll just have to look out for whenever yours appears on your desk.
Toni xx
Hope you had a lovely T day. Little Myz is also a tassel fan and she is only eight. So there! :-* xxx
ReplyDeleteMy morning is very like yours. I sit in my winter robe bought 30 years ago at a Sheridan hotel and beginning to get the tatty look of a BBC soap opera. The 2 cups of coffee are essential to get me activated as I watch the morning news when I usually get pissed off and open the iPad. I am so fed up with cold weather; at least we get to see the sun but oh that icy wind blast. Wish the Canadians would shut the door.
