Keeping Calm? No.Still Laughing though. At myself.

It's official:  I am in a bit of a panic about how much you lot are doing about Christmas compared to how much I'm doing, or indeed, getting done!

Here's a non sneaky peek..one of the Calendar LOs for tomorrows workshop.....
Yesterday at the routine Workshop -  which we had called ' Ho Ho Ho ' on the published schedule - my time bubble was burst good and proper. BANG! A customer told me how much she was looking forward to the Card Marathon day that Shopkeeper Gal , Mrs Precision and me are running in the shop next Thursday and Saturday.  I could not believe what I'd heard, and could not collect myself quickly enough to agree and tell her that she would have a fun day.  Instead, I looked horror struck and said "WHADDYAMEANNEXTWEEK". Ho Ho Ho indeed. And then of course, I had to admit that I seem to be 2 weeks behind in my head although I'm well aware of the date. (How does that happen?) And I tried to reassure Shopkeeper Gal that I would turn up with card kits, samples and Christmas festivity in my heart. And I will. Please can I borrow some midnight oil?  And a whole heap of fab ideas?

  1. Try searching Pinterest...that's what I've spent hours in front of the telly in my evenings looking for VERY quick ideas to make my Christmas cards this year with....not much time here either lol

  3. I am SOOO glad it is not just me. I really can't seem to get back into my stride since my holiday and keep missing complete weeks. Just realised I have people coming for sunday lunch and haven't done any shopping and working till 5 Saturday. I did recall it was sometime in November......... I was going to add to your burden but won't after reading this post!! You'll get there, there's nothing like a deadline to focus the mind....

Must be some affliction affecting those of us of a certain age. :) Deadlines always help me to focus hope it works for you. What ever you come up with will be loved. Hugs

  8. I have started my cards, but I still have a mountain to climb, still presents to buy etc. I need several extra days in each week to stand any chance. You are definitely not alone in your panic. Good luck with your Marathon. I am sure it will be brilliant. xx Maggie

  9. If it's any consolation, all I've done for Christmas is think about it.

    Good luck!

  11. I have never seen how you manage to do it all, what with working in the joinery, visiting those who sign up for WOYWW each week (with PERSONAL, not canned comments), running workshops, providing all the supplies for said workshops, keeping a home, and still having a sense of humor.

I can't seem to get going on Christmas, either, but if I don't finish making my gifts, most of my friends know it will make it to them eventually (like May Day or later).

  14. I am now sticking to the rule - a card a day keeps the panick away! Once you start making cards ideas just role in but it is a bugger you have to do the kits too! Call in some extra help for the kits! Wish I could come - not this year but mavbe next!!!
    Lots of hugs,

  15. Deep breaths. In and out. In and out. You'll make it and it will be fab. I've got some lovely cards pinned to my various Pinterest boards, in case that's any help whatsoever: http://www.pinterest.com/bookworm/papercrafting-projects-that-inspire-me/ or http://www.pinterest.com/bookworm/tips-tricks-techniques/

  16. Pinterest is your friend Julia! I reluctantly got on board with Christmas this weekend, as I have to hand my cards over to Craft Buddy at Thanksgiving as she is taking them home to post them for me...I am a bit blah about Christmas this year. Cx
