What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 223

Real stuff going on - some late afternoon sunshine too, for I snapped this at 4pm on Tuesday.  The view is slightly different already, because I was 'in the mood' on Tuesday evening.  Yep, I made a couple of cards - so it wasn't a long lasting mood.  Well, something involving supper and a TV programme called The Great British Bake Off got in the way.  Thing is, when you're on a diet, it's compulsive viewing!
So the usual suspects are there; the buttons are about to be re-homed...or re-jarred rather than homed.  The moustache tape is there after some postal wrapping - I've turned into an ebay entrepeneur this week. It wasn't craft stuff.  Note the beautiful card, badly displayed in front of the iPad...from Annette - to thank me for a teeny favour. She says she's not really a card maker.  Hmmm.  She wrong.  The little 'T is for To Do' book at the very front is actually full of different size and shape post it notes.  Really lovely and now I'm actually using them, really useful!  So there we are..not overly inspiring, huh!  You can do better, I'm perfectly sure.  Join in won't you - link your WOYWW titled post back here and we'll visit.  Put the kettle on.  You very probably have time to bake as well.

  1. It arrived! You have no idea how daunting it is to send a CARD to someone who makes and teaches card making! Thank you for being nice about it.

  2. That is a gorgeous card, definitely a card maker! I am so jealous of you being able to watch the Great British Bake off! I loved the American version, watched each episode at least twice! Wish I could somehow watch the British one but the iplayer won't play over here!

I finally found a use for some of my extra scrapbook paper and shared it at this week's WOYWW!

    Oh happy day! :-)

  6. I've grown rather fond of your overflowing button jar, but I'm sure you'll be happier if their container will actually, well, contain them. :) Yes, we're on a diet over here, too, but I'm not sure a cooking show would be the ticket -- it would just make me hungry! But I'm currently feeling smug, having just got off the exercise bike. We won't discuss how long it's been since I used it last, eh? So excited to see the WOYWW post up at this time!!!!! Happy Wednesday, Julia. ~ Laura the Bookworm #13

  12. Lovely to be back among my WOYWW friends! I love that little post-it note holder, so fancy! It took me a while to find Annette's card; I thought it was part of your computer screen. She is, indeed a card maker! It was actually fun finding it, as I've always been a puzzle girl, love scavenger hunts, etc., so I sat and fingered it out!

Thanks as always for hosting this huge party with over a hunnert guests!! Have a sensational couple of weeks! Darnell #24

  20. You might need to clarify the moustache tape bit. Are you saying you have a mo and it is getting out of hand so much that you need to stick it down??? Or do you have a secret wish to have a moustache and the tape puts a fake one on? Honestly, the mind boggles. Beautiful card from Annette.
    Have a great week.

  21. OH wow, look at that awesome card from Annette. I've received a few from her, too. And of course, she says she can't make cards, but hers are THE most elaborate cards I've gotten, overall. One year she made a tree with branches that opened up. Sort of like origami. So, she can say she's not a card maker, but we both know differently.

I had to laugh at the gals who didn't know what mustache tape was. Now I know NOTHING about NOTHING. I'm the gal who lives in a dark cave of ignorance, and even I know what mustache tape is. Perhaps it's your influence that has rubbed off on me (grin).

What I'm curious about are those little books or pads with the To Do sticker on them. Please don't tell me they are post-its, too. They couldn't possibly fit in that black book.

Oh well. I'm off to bed, but just wanted to drop in and say hi because I miss you already!

  22. I am curious now as to how you are going to re home your buttons? !!!!! Do show us next week

  30. You can't rehome your buttons... They're a work of art. Or at least that's what I always assumed. As to the bake off, I adore it. It's one of the funniest shows ever. Those custard tarts were hysterical. I was sorry Ali went home as some of his problems were definitely cultural.

  35. Love the little 'to do' book tucked there in the front and what a super card from Annette.

Please Miss, Please Miss...**waving hand madly in air**...I know what the tape is because I have some too. It's like wide parcel tape but is white with black 'tashes printed on it - great fun for 'pimping' carrier bags or as my friend and I recently did...pimped deely-boppers.

I love the idea of to T is for to dos with the post its. I just started using post its directly on my wall with tasks I need to do and then I toss them when I complete them. It is very satisfying to see them get done.

I know what you mean about cooking shows. I am trying to stay clear too. I also mute the TV during commercials because 99% of them are food that should not be consumed by anyone. Not sure if it helps. Says the girl that has a handful of chocolate covered almonds infront of her as she is typing this.
