What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 207

If you're in any way affected by the devastating tornado that blew through Oklahama City, please know that you have friends here who will listen and pray and send you strength.  Vicky, let us hear from you, please!

Information about our weekly met up HERE
Information about why next week is special and how to take part in a WOYWW with added benefit HERE

You may want to stand back for this one.  Seriously, even in the slightly late Tuesday light, my desk for Wednesday is a crisis...
It's sheltering unpacked from the tote but not unpacked baskets from last Thursday's workshop, new purchases and magazine catch ups, samples from last Saturday's workshop and the detritus of a session of looking for something.  Something so important that I can't remember what, or why!
Seriously, there are actually layers to be excavated!  You may like the tin plate sign, I know it's a truth for a lot of you deskers.  But I don't have a cat so I'm going to erm, alter it. The sign that is.  Not the cat that I don't have.  Don't ask me when.  You can see, my plan to do something with the black and white photo of my Brother In Law is no further forward; you're not surprised are you?  One good thing - that photo hides my pile of ATCs for next week anniversary edition of WOYWW.  How ridiculous and fun this all is.
Please join in, it's very easy as explained in the link above (or at left in the margin of this post).  We'll visit..in my case, very slowly..this Apprentice-ship thing has me making window boards yesterday and today...so gimme sometime to stop hurting and some strength to stay awake once I sit in my chair!

  2. oh poor Julia, I feel your pain... I'd love to rummage through the layers (layers sound better than piles, don't you think? I am going to have layers of "stuff" in future too. lol!) Have a fabby day, if you unbend and unstiffen... Helen, 5

  5. G'day Julia
OMG I think your desk looks perfectly fine LOL...isn't putting stash away after being away the pits. I'm off to a paper crafting event next month and I too shall have a similar desk after that. Go soak the body and create art when you are less tired.

  8. Your desk is always full of great ideas and I fully understand when the best of ideas have to sit on the desk for a little while. The apprenticeship thing sounds like a lot of work but I am sure the process will be worth it in the end. Have a lovely week.

  13. Oh Julia cannot imagine an altered cat - unless it is like the dog I saw on TV at the million paws walk, to raise money for our RSPCA - a dog, whose owner had multi-dyed it's fur :D did look ultra cute.. but not sure it enjoyed the procedure...

A pile of atc's .."me dips me lid, m'lady "...
you are organised, I have vaguely thought about starting but keep drawing blanks.

...hopefully more inspired by next week - happy WOYWW and may less aches be your lot, love Shaz in Oz.x #24

  19. I like a messy desk and always enjoy looking at your one.. Mine is all tidy its disappointing really as it means that I have been doing other things and none of them on my desk the last few days, will have to rectify that very soon.

  35. Ah right, you don't have a cat who you need to alter! I do and she features over on my desk today!Really I wouldn't change her for the world..I'm not surprised your desk is hectic with all you have to do. I see your glasses are prominent, though. I can never find mine! Thinking of those affected by the tornadoes too, although I don't actually know anyone personally. Have a good WOYWW xxx

    ReplyDelete
  36. Everyone is either early or this will be a record-breaking WOYWW. I'm entering about the same time as normal, and I'm at double the usual number!

Thank you for mentioning OK. I'm praying for Vicki and all those other poor folks.

I know you've aches and pains, but are you loving your Apprenticeship? I hope so! Do you want me to send Anita B. Clean over to help you out with the desk clean? She does great work!

Thanks, as always, Julia! If you did a survey, I wonder how many of us are just starting our ATCs right now?! xo Darnell #65

  52. dont fret, my desk is exactly the same, but if they were constantly tidy it would only demonstrate how little work we did, as for ufo's i have a million - and the count is growing with every effort i make on the 'tidy house quest'

  62. I've often told my Mom that the creative explosions she lives with aren't conducive to her getting anything done. 73. Hi Julia, sorry I am late with my comments, I linked up this morning in a hurry and forgot to say hello (how rude!). I know exactly where you are at with loading and unloading for each class, but layers can only stay on my desk for a minimum amount of time otherwise I get really frustrated when I cant find anything. I like your idea about given the same componants would we come up with the same or similar card, maybe we should try it sometime. Have a great day and thanks for the visit. Hugs Mo x

  119. Hey Julia - I got your message but you are a no-reply commenter so I couldn't reply without coming on over to your blog.

My parties page is where I post all of the linky parties I join in with, as well as being open for others to add their parties too (kind of like a directory of linky parties). I don't attend all of them every week, and when I do I tend to try and find new people each week - I usually pick three new linkers (to me anyway) each week and pay them a visit.

I hope you are OK with my advertising your linky party on my page and providing that link within my post. I like to join in with a few different arty blog hops and this seems (to me) a neat way to display lots of linkups. I've certainly never had any complaints from other hop hosts.

WOYWW is one of my favourite hops to visit each week. Everyone usually seems so friendly.
