Housekeeping

This card also uses the TH die that featured earlier in the week.  There's no direct connection between this card and the reason for this post...except that because it's a bit inky and a bit erm, inky, I thought Jo would like it.  And she's the story, see.
On Monday, I was minding my own business (I really was) when BetteK popped into my inbox with an exciting email about WOYWW being talked about on the radio.  Imagine! And she's heard it from a friend on Facebook, so it was a tangled web indeed.  In my best management impersonation, I set Debbie (BetteK) about finding the details.  it was BBC Radio Mersey, a phone-in show sometime after 9am.  Easy.  I listened on iPlayer and of course, it was our Jo who rang in to comment about how easy and life affirming making friends online can be.  She really did mention WOYWW in all its madness and talked about how it's taken her to Slovenia, Switzerland and erm, Wiltshire. (If you want to hear Jo, she's on the 29th October edition of Sean Styles show, at about 39 minutes after the show started.) I just know that Sean, the very affable host of the show, was thrilled to hear from Jo, and I like to picture him tapping WOYWW into the old computer to see how he could get in on the friendliness to be found.  I like to picture him.  I didn't say that he did.  I'm extending the story now, to make WOYWW sound as big and puffed up as it possibly could be.  Jo didn't mention self obsession at all - I think that was kind of her.  She did mention that she was a former member of the A Team.  And we definitely need to know more about that.

And..anyone planning to visit Hobbycraft/Stitches/blah blah at the NEC next Friday?  Me and Lunch Lady Jan are hoping to get there quite early...we have to leave just after lunch, but if you fancy a quick hello and a chat........mind you, 'quick' and 'chat'...hmmm.

And.....Ludgershall Crop this saturday, 10am onwards.  If you're in the vicinity and wanna join us, let me know so I can clue you in.

My word...this was less about housekeeping and more about self publicity.  Ah well, at least I recognise it!

Just to make it easy :)

I missed out yesterday due to a lot of rubbish going on at home (leaky roof, dryer deliver, minor catastrophes and lengthy phone calls - Arrgghh!) but off to visit desks now before anything else goes wrong....

See you Saturday - I think I can manage salad on the train. :)

  6. I was just about to email you to ask what time you would be there. My chauffeur-for-the-day gets up at the crack of dawn normally so she wants to go 'early doors' and now you're saying the same - its a conspiracy!!

  7. Ha! I did enjoy this post. And I know how it makes you feel to get a few moments of 'fame'. Our son is in the latest Santander Bank advert. If you blink you miss him, but we know he is there so we keep replaying it to spot him!
I wish I was going to NEC. I always went when I lived near Shrewsbury. Hope you all have a great time there.

Wish I could make the NEC but will be hunting down baby preserved figs in Spain - see you and Jan as arranged though later in the month :) So I get two bites at the cherry - or should that be two bites at the figs ?:)

  21. Whey hey! So you're famous! Would you consider meeting up with a commoner? Never been to. an NEC Craft event before! Will be coming down from Manchester so not too early I suppose! Chrisx

  22. Can I please have a signed photo before you get too famous that you have to have a PA who will refuse my request? lol...

I was on a website a few days ago (Sunday I think), which was for an american card making mag. I subscribe to their newsletters. Anyway, I think it might have been one of their contributing editors - or someone, showed their re-modelled craft room on the page/FB page - but if you went to the blog, you got to see the whole room, plus the before pictures - it was lovely...

I left a comment telling her about WOYWW and that we share our desks - and craft rooms on this feature and gave her the link to your blog. I'm not sure whether she's been long, but whenever I see someone showing off their desk - I will promote WOYWW.

I know that all my lovely friends have been there with me on my journey, particularly through some tought bits.

When I say that I don't know what I would have done without you all and your support - I don't mean it lightly. I genuinely mean that you supported me through and what was weird - I'd literally joined the week before I found out. It was 8 days after starting my blog. I think it was 'meant to be'...

    Thank you Julia.

  25. Have fun at the NEC...I think you should design a new badge to wear there...something like "as heard about on MerseyBeat"
    teehee
Well done that Jo called in and got you some well deserved publicity.

It is so lovely to have the opportunity to make new friends...all over the world..who share the same interest and understand shared concerns or problems. At least craft wise that is!!!

  27. Fab card. I listened to the radio show (well, the part with Jo) and she sounded wonderful. I am trying to find the strength to get up to the NEC, but it may be Thursday. If I wake up on Thursday with too much pain, then I may well delay it until Friday - will let you know if I can meet up. Will be wearing my badge! Ali x
