Well, the 2 Scrap Ladies Card Marathon day is now but a memory. Except for the few stamps I still have to clean...in the basket at the far end of the desk. But they're Christmas stamps, so I won't need them for a while. I'm getting back into season, have an urge to do something in Autumnal hues. Ok you guessed it - another deadline looms and this time its for something seasonal. So my desk today has been the 'blank page' starter desk. I've got the prescribed ingredients out - the stamps I must use, the product (gold and copper leaf, yum) and card stock...and have spent some time fiddling around making up some sketches and trying to get the ideas flowing. I think you can see from here that the cherry fabric is my desk bin that Jan made for me, the chewing gum is centre desk in a big blue pot, and the ipad's there on the little deckchair - fear not Bridget, if it's not there it's just being recharged somewhere less convenient!
Thought you'd like to see this. Miss Dunnit, last week, checking through my workshops baskets of 'ingredients' against the lists of what should be in them. She doesn't wear glasses, but look how she wears mine; like I do when I don't need them for reading...is that because she wants to be like Mumma, because she's taking the erm, or because she saw me coming with the camera?
Share your workspaces with us please, we like to see what you're doing and where you're doing it. Make a quick post to your blog that includes WOYWW in the title, then link it here. Reciprocal visiting is de riguer. Thank you!
Oh and sorry to hijack it for publicity - but if you want to read about the WOYWW Crop Meet on Oct 13th, please pop back for tomorrow's post. Thank you!

Oooooo autumnal colours are my most favorite colours to work with, golds burnt oranges, fab!
ReplyDeleteThat cherry fabric bin is brilliant SO much nicer than my broken plastic thing lol.Cath
Oops sorry i'm down twice, some lovely person must of added me and i only noticed after i'd added myself lol x
ReplyDeleteI spotted the cherries and wondered but as always you keep us so informed. Love the fact you have a fabric bin. Looks like your secretary is keeping you in order. I hope she found everything on your desk that should be there.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the Autumnal hues and Happy WOYWW

aha, now I know why I'm no 46 at this late hour!! Taking the erm I would guess. I've just done an autumnal canvas, also for a deadline, I probably wouldn't have done it otherwise. Willbe back tomorrow for crop instructions. How many sleeps? Cindy
ReplyDeletemorning!
ReplyDeletethat looks a very organised desk ... ready to go. Where else would you wear glasses?
janet
Had a really good look round your desk for your AB but to no avail. Did spot an Eiffle Tower stamp methinks, now that could have come in handy for my card. Think I have a small one, perhaps I'll add something to my card. Thanks for stopping by BJ #6
ReplyDeleteI've never used gold or copper leaf, I'd love to see what you do with it. Also loving the bin which Jan made for you, they look great
ReplyDeleteHugs Helen (aka Ellie Wee) xx
Lots of leaf there Julia, but how much of it got back in the bag after - mine ends up attached to everything and all over the place.
ReplyDeleteI wear my glasses like that as well, sometimes have a pair on my head and another on a cord round my neck, then can't 'find' either of them.
Good to be back after a few weeks break - just like coming home.

I am into the gold, silver and copper leaf thing too, and the gilding flakes, although working without breathing is hard to do (I forgot yesterday and covered my desk in tiny bits of gilding flakes - very pretty but not helpful). I thought I had a lot of pairs of scissors, but you beat me hands down. do they all have a special purpose? Have a good week, and I will be back to read tomorrow's post. xx Maggie
ReplyDeleteWhat is it that they say? We all turn into our Mothers (shudders at the thought)
ReplyDeleteMy desk is covered in Christmas this week. I love it.
I will email you separately but I can't make the crop now :-(
Jakix #48
Hi Julia, a very " busy" desk today just love Miss Dunnits A La Mamma pose, hope your crop goes well
ReplyDeleteToni #56
Have a lovely day. Sandy dallas
ReplyDeletePlanning, sketches. Hmmm, clearly this is the way to go to stay on track. Mental note made to try harder on this score! It's good to see the whole of your crafting 'process' as the initial stages are the bits we don't normally get taught and yet they can be the most crucial. So much to learn, so little time! Hugs, Buttons #57
ReplyDeleteOooh! and I thought the copper leaf was a bag of chockys for us next week! your desk is remarkably tidy and I had a chuckle seeing Miss Dunnit. We all turn into our Mums!!
ReplyDeleteLove hyper excited for next week Jo x (47)
Good morning everyone, back again. julia your desk looks fab- just enough room to work in, piles of stuff everywhere. Shaz xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're a messy worker it makes my tip of a craft room something like exceptable!!!!!!
X Julie
Another scissor girl! I always say you can't have enough scissors - I wander off into another room and leave them there! Love your desk and your cherry bin, Chris
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your autumnal crafting. You have some lovely stuff around you. Lol! at Miss D and the glasses! x
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. Hope you are getting on with your autumnal project. Those colours on your desk look fab. I am off to make a birthday car that I have to get in the post by 12! No rest for the wicked - or the forgetful! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 67
ReplyDeleteOoh... all that white space just waiting to be filled with lovliness.... I get freaked by white space so I wish you lots of fun with yours.

Hi Julia, my original link wasn't working so I've re-linked. Would you mind removing the first one please, its around number 30. Can't believe how much Miss Dunnit looks like you! I thought it was you and couldn't work out who had taken the pic! So sorry I can't make the WOYWW crop, I am so annoyed and gutted and I will be mortified if the lectures are rubbish! I shall be there in spirit, please eat a cake for me xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia you desk looks ready for action today. Mine is a tip as usual. I can spend hours looking for my glasses and they're on the top of my head! Sad but true.
ReplyDeleteHave a super day, hugs Erika. #70
Hi Julia I often catch myself doing something like my mum - they say you do turn into your mum :-)I have to make an Autumnal card - not got an idea as yet! Will be back later to comment on other desks and tomorrow to see you post. Happy WOYWW Anne x #70
ReplyDeleteWe all morph into mum in the end ... and it is a good thing. Enjoy your woyww crop, what a wonderful thing to do. I am sure you will post some pics.
ReplyDeleteSandra @73
Happy WOYWW. Fab crafty desk. I love autumn too - but not the weather (often wet and windy here). I am seriously considering putting an IPad on my Xmas list (which gets longer by the day), as so many crafters seem to use them. Are they worth the money? I really need a better computer in my craft room, as my little notebook struggles to cope with all the software I am using now. Need to win the Lottery! Have a good week. Ali x #75
ReplyDeleteGreat desk this week! Great picture of Miss Dunnit too! As always, love those windows!
ReplyDeleteMy first time here and I've managed to do a post but link it to the wrong WOYWW *sheesh*
ReplyDeleteI'm linked up correctly now and going to have a mooch about and see how everyone else crafts....hopefully in as much mess as me!
I'm so glad I'm joining in with this again. Your desk is looking good and I love that cherry fabric!
ReplyDeleteHello Julia! I was getting excited thinking I inspired you to do a self portrait like I did the last two weeks but nope I read on to find it was your lovely daughter!
ReplyDeleteI am liking all the sparklie stuff on your desk and the basket is gorgeous. You said someone made it for you? Wow.
Have a wonderful day.
Belinda (77)
Thank you for linking me. I woke about 3 am my time, started to add my name, saw it, went back to bed.
ReplyDeleteMiss D has that mature look on her face. Maybe the hair, and maybe she's just grown up since I last saw a photo of her.
I noticed most of my inks were also stopped up and refused to spray, even after I flushed. I got a big container of hot water, stuck them in and walked away. A few minutes later, I returned and pumped each sprayer while holding the entire unit UNDER WATER. Some took longer to work than others, but I finally got them all working again. Of course, I don't get the lovely coverage some of your British friends get.
Like you, I also like my strawberries room temperature! And thanks again for adding my link.
lol I mucked up my link so here is the right one lol Sandy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in the autumnal mood too. Been making all sorts of fall things at my place :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, yes, fall goodies and oooo BOO! Halloween I love little witches, ghost and other magickal fun! Angie#91
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a lovely time of the year Julia and the colours certainly do inspire so it’s good to have your desk clear and tidy(ish) and ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been looking at my next cross stitch project, that next in line of the Celtic ladies and can’t decide between Celtic Autumn or Winter. It doesn’t really matter which I start to stitch because neither will be finished and ready to hang this year anyway.
Happy Crafting!
Sue @ 79

I love your glasses! :)

ReplyDeleteChild labor is it Julia!. Sounds like a good time at the crop.
ReplyDeleteAh the advantages of being lazy and waking late, Mr. linky was waiting patiently for me.
ReplyDeleteWe may do something autumnal this week too, we feel the need to document the season in some way!
Not sure what is happening but I tried to link up 3 times and it still isn't showing me on the links : ( so.. if randomly i show up later on there 3 times you know what happened. Happy WOYWW!

ReplyDeleteFiona x
Always so many interesting things on your desk! It's almost like a game of Where's Waldo! Good luck with your new project!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to meet Miss Dunnit! She looks to be a fine helper for you and time will tell if she's a mimic or she inherited your crafty talent! And your wicked sense of humor, of course!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I am late miss...had a bit of a slip up on my way into my room and ended up at A&E!!
ReplyDeleteI envy you and Miss Dunnitt for being able to wear your glasses there. My Mum can do it too but mine just fall off. They tend to be worn like a hair band on me!
Looking forward to next week Honey!
xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI think she wants to be like Mumma - or maybe the camera had something to do with it! :<) Wishing you a great week - Fall is such a great season!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
I finally got back to comment... cold taking precendce..oh and would love to take your advice... but can I take a raincheck please? the week after next would be better! LOL desk looks in the throes of creativity, and is that a wry smile I see on MIss Dunnit's face ?
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening

Hey I am back! Its been a while but I am faithfully returning. Good luck with the blank page starter desk, looking at my pics I think I am a long way off that! xx
ReplyDeleteI made it back and linked up. Your daughter is lovely with or without glasses. Have a great week. Frances #117
ReplyDeleteHey Julia all the ladies! I see it has gotten up in numbers! I took a picture but no time to post this week! Maybe after cardmaking day it would be more for everyones eyes to feast!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I must say I'm also looking forward to a bit of autumn inspired crafting. I must get my hands on some of that gilding stuff! have a great week x toni #128
ReplyDeleteWOW - Miss D dun'arf look like you!!! I thunk it was you at first! lol
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks 'industrious' - all because of the pair of glasses you've left on it... always good for making someone look intellegent if you leave them on something that resembles a book or something lol... that's why no one can ever accuse me of being intellegent - cos I've always got them on!
I've had a rough few days -particularly today (ankles and wrists totally painful) so its been slow going to get a post out - that and my many distractions...
massive hugs
Paula x x x
Howdy! So you survived the scrap day marathon! Whoo! I think today I'll just sit at your desk and stare out the window. You know, get in touch with my inner cat.
ReplyDeleteA daughter taking the mick out of her mother - happens all the time in our house lol (but I give as good as I get)- desk looks all set to create hope the ideas come flooding in for you.
ReplyDeleteI do wish people would stop mentioning the Christmas word, I'm feeling the panic already. Autumn colours are much better :)
