What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 169

Well, I offer two shots of the same shame,it may look better or worse from the other perspective...you decide.  I'm not too busy to care, but I'm too busy to care, know what I mean?  No?  well....I need room but I don't want to stop...you get that, for sure.  I do have to stop later today though, so will promise to stop one hour before I have to and do some tidying.  Good for the soul.  Even better for the mojo!

Oh my life.  ipad is missing, being charged.  If you saw yesterday's post, you'll recognise some of the ingredients.   The A and P are still awaiting attention.  Ridiculous, but will probably now feature as gift tags on her Christmas present....it's certainly too too late to offer them as a belated birthday gift of some sort!  But, AP is my sweet Mama, so I know she won't mind!
Share your shame then...or your pride.  Let's see what you're working on and where you're having to work..desk, floor, tray, office.....reveal, I beg you!
Please put WOYWW in your post title and link here.  Cool.  See you sometime between now and next Tuesday evening!

  3. Yes - you have to seize the moment - you can always tidy up later - you need another table - I have a fold up one that I pull out when I run out of space on my desk!!

Sometimes you just have to get her done and worry about the mess later.

  11. I like an aerial shot as it gives a very immediate perspective. Or I just want to jump in and help you clean up!!! Love your resist emboss index cards. Always helpful to have the technique instructions actually linked to the finished item. enjoy your week.

  12. Wow, that is busy and a little messy perhaps too. I want to come and tidy it. Bit far though. My ffle looked at the photo and said oh dear how can you craft on that! What does he know, sweep it aside.

  15. Mess? Where I see no mess. Just lots of creativity and its your crafty space so who cares if there is a mess anyway. Only time it becomes a problem is if you think it is out of control and as you can still craft all is just fine. X

  16. So good to be back. I have missed everyone. Julie, your desk is quite full of fun. I have to clear my off between creations.

  17. looks like you are super busy creating magic!!!! or a mad scientist!!! lol....thank you for hosting!!! have a super day!!!

  18. Goodness, did I just see a Christmas tree stamp? It's only August, but I guess I shouldn't wait till Dec. 14 like I did last year. I see about three inches of space, so it's probably not time to clean up yet. It would be for me, but not for you. I hope you have a good week. I'm thinking about you, just didn't have time to join in this week.

  19. Wow Julia, you have been really busy crafting. Do you know where everything is on there? I see lots of the same products that I use everyday. #27

  24. That's what my desk looks like, sad to say! I started trying to sort and clean my craft room. Put some things in a box to give my daughter, some in one pile some in another, then realized that I needed to finish a project... The project is now done, so I hope to finish cleaning soon. It doesn't help my mojo, for sure! You have my sympathy.

  25. Hi Julia, I am a bit stumped for words - now that's one busy desk! I put it down to you getting ready for your workshop this weekend...... yes......maybe, well a good excuse anyway? Wow! Crafty hugs, Anne x #32 (can't sleep)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi Julia, Like Anne above I can't sleep either (well just woke anyways). Looking at your desk I'd say the rubber stamp with "Smile" on it says it all. Don't worry, be happy. BJ#35

  30. Both shots make it a desk I could be proud of. It's good to know that the greats can make a huge mess too :) Had a look at your other posts and love those cards. So wish I could come to some of your workshops, would love to learn how to do all those fab cards and things. Might need more than a cut lunch to get there though. Not sure what half those things on your desk are for, but it would be fun playing.
    Have a great week.

  36. That is a nice, messy desk! (I can fill up three surfaces and still wind up working in a space the size of a postage stamp so the concept is familiar to me!)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh Julia - that really is a rightly assortment of clutter ! I find that while its great to have stuff all at hand, the space for creating gets smaller & smaller - altered matchbox anyone ? Hope you find your desk under there when you dive in for a tidy up ! Thanks for hosting & have a fun week ! Ali #56

  56. Hi Julia you have been busy!! I have just scrolled down to see what made all this delicious mayhem I see before me. What a great idea to do a beginners class. I think even the most seasoned of us crafters benefit from a back to basics class. It is why I decided to take theTim Holtz 101 course - although I am still only on lesson 4! It is great to look at techniques in detail and it sets you off creating all over again. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 73

  57. Its is because of the WOYWW that my desk has become tidier, otherwise I would still be like you. don't worry it great. Francesca #77

  58. I see you are going for the overhead shot yourself this week. The question is did you (like me) need to stand on a chair?! I can't believe I made it in under 100, it's been a long time since that happened!

    ReplyDelete
  59. As long as you can find a space to craft, keep going. Only tidy up when you can't find your mojo underneath it all. I get to a point after a few rushed projects where I just can't bear it and I have to tidy up and then it is quite refreshing but it never lasts! Enjoy the creativity while you have it in your hands xx

  71. I think the lack of space thing is something we can all relate to Julia. I usually end up losing stuff in the bin because it falls off the edge of the table. I’ve managed a bone folder and a bottle of Glossy Accents in the last couple of days and only noticed after the bin had been emptied and the dustmen had been…….need to go shopping now….what a blow, Lol!

  79. It doesn't really matter which view you look at it still looks like the desk of an extremely busy crafter. The EM remarked the state on mine yesterday afternoon, suggested that I took half a day just to clear the mess - mess, I ask you!!! - I enjoyed telling him that it would take no more than 30 minutes. Of course, he didn't believe me and had to watch me in action - I was wrong, it took 15 minutes :))

I've just spotted that you have those Fiskars scissors that I've heard so much about - are they as good as claimed, I'm on the lookout for really good ones, mine are aging badly.

Have a good week and don't interrupt while the mojo is in you :) Elizabeth x #101

  89. Hi Julia, I can't believe the area you actually give yourself to craft in, it's so small. I'm so greedy for space I take up most of my 8 seater dinning table, which is now my craft table, when I'm working on a project. First time I've participated in this. Thanks for explaining it all to me. Cheers FiLoMa

  109. Hi Boss! I didn't have a minute to stop by this morning, and by some miracle remembered tonight! Another fab post and lots of linkies responding.

This is probably not original, but I had a thought. I don't mean that having a thought is original for me (it's rare, but ...). What I mean is others have probably already thought of this. What do you think of having people put *new* or *1st* and then their name ONLY for their very first link?

Like everyone else, I can't get all the way around every week, but I do remember being new and nervous and I'd like to make sure I leave a comment on anyone's blog that are first-timers that week. That's it.

Have a great week and for the love of God, woman, clean up that mess!!

  113. Julia, you know what I am finding interesting? Well even if you aren't I'm gonna tell you anyway. I love snooping over all the desks each week. I used to think that I love to see the tidy desks (probably in hopes that I actually will clean mine)but I am finding the untidy desks are much more interesting. I get to see what people are eating (when wrappers are left behind, an empty tea cup, half finished projects, yummy stamps, etc. So no worries about your desk. I find it much more enjoyable when in disarray! Thanks for stopping by my desk. Have a great week.

  116. I made it this week! Yeah for me...well, it feels like an accomplishment to me! lol :) But look at that desk of yours...whoa. You put the Wow in WOYWW this week lady! It's truly amazing the messes we can make in a creative frenzy, huh? At least we know you got to play some. :)
Take care and thanks ever so much for hostessing this linky party and making it around to so many of us fellow crafty bloggers!

  117. I'm afraid I didn't make ti to WOYWW this week Julia - too muych else on my mind and I didn't remember till it was too late. A quick update on Dad in case anyone is reading this - thanks for all the lovely comments, thoughts and prayers for our family. Dad is slightly better today but has had a bad dip. He's up and down, still in hospital, but we are hoping this is a real improvemenmt this time. My sister's been down staying with Mum for a few days which takes the pressure off my hubby.

I'm feeling very exhausted and not doing anythiing atm except immersing myself in the wonderful Paralympics so don't expect any sense out of Shoshi for a week or two!!!

    Happy belated WOYWW to everyone,
    Shoshi x

  118. Now that's one busy desk! I can feel your pain, I know next week everything will be neat and tidy. Mine looks like yours quite often, thankfully I have two work spaces. Sometimes I need 3. :-). Have a great week!
