What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 167

Actually, the photo seems to make it look tidier than I feel it is.  How odd, that is not usually the case at all....a photo usually at the very least reveals ONE thing to be ashamed of!

Mostly I'm still fiddling about with the Shopkeeper Gal's die collection, making bits and 'practising' for the demo day on Saturday.  The two Art Blanche gift bags still in packets are there to remind me that they need to see some sort of crafty action too. They are actually probably hiding the really bad untidiness - my sponges and ink pads are strewn about under there.  So to make up for not quite bearing all, here's a card I made yesterday.
To reassure Shopkeeper Gal, I hope!
Now, if you aren't planning to come to the WOYWW Crop, please join in today's WOYWW as usual..put WOYWW in your post title, upload a photo to your blog and link it here.  Don't bother linking a non WOYWW post - it'll be removed.  And that's why the link list numbers change now and then people - if I have to remove a blog for whatever reason, it bumps the numbers..clever stuff huh!

WOYWW CROP 13th October in Ludgershall
Although we appreciate that flexibility is everything to us busy people, this is the point at which we really need to hear from those of you who can commit.  Obviously, plans change and things go wrong at the last minute,  but we need to start to firm up numbers.  It's not about deposits or anything, it's a pay on the day thing...we need to know for catering purposes and and chair numbers!

  4. I like the idea of a die collection, I'm working on that quite diligently and have just seen the new ones released by Memory Box this week, lord help me is all I can say! I can see a relatively untidy pile of stamps in the bottom corner if that makes you feel better! Wish I could come to the crop! As it happens my other half will be in England then but I'd like to see his face if I ask him to go along and meet you all!!

Barring emergencies I'll also be there in October :) Emergency being things like Len deciding to spray ME green rather than the garden shrub as posted about yesterday.

  8. Your desk doesn't look at all bad this week, Julia! Nice lot going on, and I love the card you've made - really beautiful.

I've emailed you to thank you for the lovely set of bicycles you've sent me! I couldn't believe how many cycled their way out of the envelope - you are most kind!

Thanks for organising us yet again. Have a great week!

  9. I always admire those dies and die cutting machines. I know how much time they can save if you want precision things, especially when making cards and scrapbook pages, two things you do well. Unfortunately, I'll continue to cut things by hand and wish for beautiful dies and die cuts!

Your card is beautiful. Did you make those flowers? They are gorgeous. Now forgive my ignorance, are the dies, cut outs that you stick onto the cards?

  23. Another great WOYWW about to take us on an inspirational jaunt...pity I can't come to the crop but 12,000 miles is a little excessive on the footprint issue I think.
As suggested please let us see lots of photos so that we can enjoy virtually! ;D
I always love to see glasses left on the desks...it's as if you've just popped off to put the kettle on or something and will be back in a tick!

  32. Hi Julia! A WOYWW crop- how exciting! I had a bit of excitement myself this morning when Peggy shouted from her side of the house, "WOYWW!" and I hadn't done anything because I really thought it was a Tuesday! So I frantically tried to put up my post and the internet did not cooperate!! One of those days! To think I was awake so early and could have done the post easily! Patsy from

That's about the best I have today. Dang, but I'm an ornery one. You're right that photos usually make it look worse than it is (the photo of my whole room today made me think 'dang this place looks shabby.') but I think your desk looks like a great place to be.

Those are great dies you have to play with. I like the card you made with them--looking good.

I promise not to drop into the WOYWW crop un-RSVPd. Unless I win I some huge lotto, in which case the drinks will be on me anyway.

If you're still curious about the coloring on glitter with markers thing, I just posted a tutorial about it this morning. It's a special kind of glitter and adhesive that seems to meld together and then accepts ink. So no glitter flying everywhere once you get it secured down. Anyway, come take a peek if you get a chance! It's the most current post.

So sorry I didn't join in this week again Julia - I know you'll say it's not compulsary and all that, but I do try and most weeks I do take the photos - and sometimes they make it into a blog post, sometimes they don't make it off my camera memory card, sometimes I write quite a lot of the post out and then get distracted such tat it could be 2-3 days later until I get the chance to come back on the laptop so its them kind of a lost cause!!!

    Maybe this coming Wednesday?!?!?
