What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 166
Well, I've made a start! and now I have to stop and tidy up before I can continue because I want to work on a 12 inch page and there just isn't room. Surprise! You can see that I've got a couple of letters to post, (Paula and Shoshi) and some stamps to clean. No worries, the stamps will wait! I've been making a few samples for Shopkeeper Gal which meant borrowing some of her very extensive die collection. (Sound jealous? Yep!) So..there really is stuff under the stuff. The iPad deck chair has been re-employed whilst glitter glue is drying. I took the photo with the iPad and now notice the camera - switched on, in what can only be described as a 'discarded' position. Huh? Don't remember doing that!

Hi Julia, as usual, I've had a good rummage around your desk and admired the chalk towers once more - I have one but I really need to treat myself to a couple more :)
ReplyDeleteMy eyesight is definitely dimming, it took me forever to locate the camera - I felt I'd won a gold medal when my eyes eventually focused enough to zoom in on it ... see what I did there :)))
Many thanks for the tips on sewing - will take your advice and see if I can't improve in the card-stitching department.
I'll do a post on the wax paper technique and show my failures and possibly even a success or two.

I am happy Mr.Linky arrived safe and sound. I missed last week and am looking forward to catching up on the creative goodness out there. Yeah, your desk and mine are twins!! As I type now, my elbow is propped up by piles on my desk. Nice arm rest eh? I love the repurpose of the iPad stand. Sounds like you have lots of fun stuff going on. Woohoo! Look at that desk! Think I preferred it when I couldn't see it, lol!! Didn't realise you'd linked me up, came on here this morning before checking my comments, so I'm in twice. The book is pretty good but not set out very well with all the instructions at the back, instead of with the projects! I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it as I would have been really disappointed. However, the projects really are lovely and there are a lot of little tips sprinkled about, plus a good introduction. I hope to get a set of Prisma's or Coloursoft pencils before the end of the year as he used those a lot.

Your card is brilliant. I find it safest to put glitter glue out of the way to dry. Sometimes gravity is just bad lol. And yes, definitely jealous about the dies :D. #128
ReplyDelete12"x12"s do take up rather a lot of space don't they. It is my preferred format for scrapbooking, but I always have to have a huge tidy up before I can do a page.
ReplyDeleteI have to put my drying glitter glue etc somewhere safer than that. Baggins would add a fair helping of his fluff if I left it on my desk.

Your desk looks happy and busy. The item on the iPad seat looks intriguing. The nice thing about a friend with lots of dies is that you can cut, cut, cut while you have custody of them -- extras for your future endeavors.

ReplyDeleteWell, not quite a week late, but almost... I wrote a post week before last, started late on Wednesday, got disturbed, did a bit more to the post and added my pics... got distracted again and by the time I thought about it, it was Saturday! This happens to me quite a lot. I'm finding it hard to focus and small jobs feel epic - sleep is an issue, or rather tiredness - anyway, I'll try again this week.
Sorry to hear that you had trouble with Mr Linky... bloody technology - google chrome has been playing me up and not loading my pages at all :O(
Loving your busy desk - I end up pulling my top draw out to my desk to give me a bit of extra surface and still end up working in an area the size of a postage stamp...
