What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 152

I am attempting to schedule this post....if it doesn't appear much before 8am...the scheduling thingy hasn't been fixed yet.  Sorry. Or YAY, depending on your time zone!

First of all, understand gentle WOYWWer, that the grass is too long and so green and all looks sun drenched and lovely because it hasn't stopped raining for the last oh, sixteen weeks or something.  Serioulsy....I have, for reasons I cannot share, an 8" deep plastic tub on my patio and it is overflowing.  Because I work *cough* at home, I simply snap a pic of the old desk top as soon as there's any decent light...and this afternoon was dry for over 3 hours - so unusual that it caused my neighbour to speak to me.  And look - the rain has shrunk my ipad! You can see a couple of cards in preparation for a 'Cards for Men' workshop.  Argh.  You can see an A4 sheet which is actually the workshop schedule with my name on it more than once.  Argh.  Glasses..of course.  Lidded gesso..(under the ATG tape runner thingy baby, tool of my trade, apple of my eye). Now the temperature is a bit better, the gesso will be unlidded: to answer a few Q's...yeah, it does get a skin if you dont stir it now and then...it's acrylic based gesso see....but it is evaporating some water, but taking an age.  But be careful, if your gesso is genuine plaster based, it won't need to be lid-less for long (maybe a couple of hours) before you get a result.
So there's a basket at the right edge which once was full of dirty stamps.  Well I had a fit of OCD and cleaned and put away and now the basket is full of acrylic blocks and tidy tray.  And workshop notebook.  Deeply interesting, huh.
So, the WOYWW third anniversary is week 156.  If you want to join the ACT-it-forward thingy, details can be found at this post.  If you missed out on a WOYWW badge and are feeling deprived, email me: juliadunnit@me.com and I'll send you one.  But I will need your postal address.   If you don't wanna do any of that nonsense, just show us what you're working on and where you're doing it.  Upload a pic of your desk to your blog.  Put WOYWW in the title.  Link here.  When you visit others and comment, tell them what number you are on the link list.  Easy. Unless you don't know how.  Help is at hand. If I don't know, there's a kerjillion who do and will share the knowledge, that I do know.

  1. In the kitchen having a cuppa and trying to drown my cough... I need a bit of that OCD mood - my dirty basket over-floweth...my eyelids dropeth...and birdsong has began...back to my nest methinks. Sarah.

  3. Oh those cards look awesome Julia - can't wait to see them close-up!

I must have MAJOR OCD cause I cannot STAND dirty stamps - lol! Seriously - I have to stop and clean them after each use (even while stamping) - which is probably one of the reaons stamping is such a major production for me!

Next week can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post the DATE for those of us who are lazy and challenged and cannot otherwise figure out which week our cards are due... ahem... lol... thanks so much! I know - pretty soon we'll want you to lick those postage stamps too! But seriously, dates and numbers - NOT my friend!

    Happy WOYWW to you!

  7. I have NO idea how you got your post to schedule properly. I haven't had a single post schedule right for over a week. Glad you got yours straightened out.

BTW, those of us with killer math skills know the ATCs are due by Wednesday, May 29, so I'll pass it on to Ramona (Create with Joy). And as if you didn't know, I'm # 4 this week.

  8. Well it took me 20 min or so to find where to edit my post so I could add and publish it. I need to "READ" some instructions on the blogger changes.

Your view is so bright and green, we are in a severe storm path thru Wed. PM..Hail, High Winds, Rain.. and your glasses look so big for some reason and so does that tape dispenser. Love your card. Happy WOYWW

  10. Hi Julia, Glad you cleaned those stamps! I'm a bit OCD like that too. And thinking about time zones hurts my head. I would like one of your cute WOYWW badges but I will send you an ATC first, no matter where my name is on the list. So maybe you could send me your snail mail address sometime? Happy WOYWW ... it's the best Wednesday there is!

  50. Very tidy desk Julia and lovely to see a bit of sunshine.

The ground here is so soggy that the nettles are having a field-day and the lawn is lush and green but squelchy under foot. I want some proper sun not just a few moments between downpours - and we still have drought warnings in place...roll on Summer.

  103. I like how you always tell folks what we are seeing on your desk. Me, I just make them guess. And then they guess wrong and I have to puzzle over what they did see (the container of M&Ms someone swore they saw on my desk). I would say send some that rain over our way but that's a long trip and it would get lost on its way. Grass huh? That's what that stuff looks like?

  104. your masculine cards looks fabulous, that is going to be a great workshop. Your grass looks lovely, can't see how long it is from here or do I just need my glasses on! I sometimes pretend I don't need them!

  105. It's actually not rained here today for once so I managed 3 hours in the garden. Mind you I have neglected it that much that only about 2 foot square got weeded in that time. But still, progress! Will reward my hardwork by doing some crafting tonight. Love your desk as always. Amy #141

  106. Hi Julia Busy, Busy, The rain has held off today and the sun has just come out hurray! It's funny but I like crafting on really rainy days as I know I couldn't possibly be doing anything else. When the weather's good I feel a bit guilty staying in doors. I'm thing of getting an ATG would you recommend it?I'm not sure if I can handle one as it looks a bit big Happy crafting x toni #142

  114. Julia I don't know if anyone else is having a problem but I can't leave comments on a few folks blogs because general access is denied. It might be worth mentioning that the blogs have to allow access for comments to be left?

  132. I've decided not to call a sudden fit of putting stamps away an episode of OCD; instead it has become my monthly MENSA training in conceptual inter-spatial engineering. Or of futility...either way...

  133. Hello!

My poor old brain really got the days mixed up this week - I am posting WOYW on Thursday! So sorry - but better late than never! We have had so much rain here in WI also and although we have much warmer temps today we are to have severe storms now - bringing of course, more rain! The green is lovely but I am weary of it all! Wishing you sunshine today!

    Hugs,

    Barbara Diane

  138. Well hello my special blogging friend, this is the second week in a row that i've taken all of my pictures, written a couple of para's of my post and then completely been distracted by something or somebody and not been able to come back to my post in a decent amount of time in order to make it worth posting. In the meantime, i've picked stuff up that i've had to do. I really don't know how you do it Ms. Dunnit - once upon a time, my Dad would call me supermum and megastar because I had so much on a the same time but can't seem to cope with more than a couple of things at one time, so unfortunately, I didn't make WOYWW again this week - will try harder for next week and defo want to be part of the 3rd anniversary. I'll go and read the post that tells me all about it. Also i'll drop you a line about a badge :O)

    big hugs

  139. Loving the male cards. The DT I'm on, the fortnightly challenge is one for the boys, I HATE IT, my mojo has disappeared, I keep starting bits but chuck them away, I managed the challenge, but we also pop cards on the shop blog for inspiration which was my idea, and everyone else has posted but me lol. Think I need to pop along to one of your workshops. Loved all the dollies, bet it was a great surprise and the layout of the accident was a eye catcher, there I was, reading double time making sure you weren't under the ladders, then no mention, mega inlarged layout and relief finding it was staged lol. Happy woyww, late again :-) Kezzy xxx
