Obviously, taken from a rooftop restaurant. No lift, just stairs. It was tough. |
A cup of coffee came with a bowl of pebbles. Really. Tea was unaccompanied. |
Rooftop view from city wall... |
We quickly stopped using the minarets as landmarks....too many! |
Lunch in a secret garden shaded by citrus trees. Oh, OK then... |
Maybe a little tidied up for your liking, but parts of the old town were...well, OLD... |
50 steps from a busy town centre, the view from our hotel room. This house was occupied. |
Use of lovely public space is a part of daily life. The glare in the lower background is the sea. |
It looks lovely ;)

oh my gosh what an adventure, the photos are amazing, I will never have the chance to visit there but through your words and eyes I feel like I have, best wishes to your parents, its so scary to have ones life partner become ill, the thought of losing the one we chose to spend our lives with is the most scary thing, I'm so glad it all turned out well,

Not at all boring Julia. I'm loving all the beauyiful pictures as there is no likelyhood of me ever going abroad as hubby won't fly and I would not like o leave him on his own. So thank-you for letting me view another world. Enjoy your holiday. Hugs from Rita in a very hot and sunny Scotland.

It is always lovely to see somewhere through other folk's eyes - great photos.
ReplyDeleteGlad the parents are home safe & sound. It can be rather scary being unwell in a strange place so far from home. Hope the recovery continues well.

Gorgeous pictures. Glad you were able to see some of the sights while you were there. It looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI knew when you asked for help on a recent post, many of your internet friends would come through for you. Yes, the internet community is quite powerful, especially when it comes to wonderful people like you.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for posting more of these photos. You will never bore me, and I suspect you will never bore any of your other readers, either. And I, dear Julia, will gladly take full responsibility for being that culture vulture who wanted to see more than two shots of Antalya.
And after taking responsibility, I thank you beyond belief. Just think of it as having to get all these images off your camera before you take off yet again (grin)!
I always seem to hit send too soon. I'm delighted to read that your Dad is better. It's good that both are now recovering from this nightmare. Your mom needs this rest as much as your dad. It's good to read they are being well taken care of.
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on my blogging, I didn't realize your Dad was ill - I'm so glad he is on the mend and back home. It must have been so scarey for you all especially your Mum. Thank you for sharing the photo's, it looks a fabulous place. Take care xx
ReplyDelete...great piCcy's Julia...so glad to hear your Papa on the mend, bless him maybe he'll start a blog of his own when he gets back home!...out of a bad situation comes good in many shapes & forms...you could probably do with a hug too (x)...Mel :)

Brilliant news to hear about your parents, so now you can go and have the real holiday! Will we be seeing lots of photos I wonder???
I hadn't realised the power of the internet community until this week...its a force to be reckoned with for sure.
Have a wonderful time ~ enjoy! :D
So glad to hear that you are safe and sound. Thinking of you all. Sandy:)

ReplyDeleteSO very pleased to hear all is continuing to go well for your parents.
Come back soon, we're missing you already! xxx
This post is anything but boring! Lovely shots of the area. I will never get to travel abroad. My traveling days have past...I just sit here in the rolling hills of East Tennessee and sigh at your wonderful adventure! I'm glad your dad is doing better. Now you can actually breathe!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness the photos are just gorgeous. Glad to hear your father is recuperating.
ReplyDeleteSandra
great to hear about the continuing progress of your dear old dad - cherish every moment you have. Glad all seems to be working out...
ReplyDeletehowever. Its a complete and utter travesty. An international dilemma... no pebbles with your tea? Not even a grain? I'd be on my way to the Consulate by now.
Great pictures by the way... I can't imagine what Lunch Lady Jan is laughing at (wink).
glad all seems well - yep - people love you and care that all is well for you - just like you do the same to others... i've been a recipient of your love and concern. Let it be your turn just for once to let people show their love for you - although perhaps wished the circs weren'tcalled for. You. Are. Loved.
big hugs
Paula x x x x
