What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 140

Another grainy shot from my phone.  Because it's rather too early to fiddle about with the card reader section of the PC which for some reason won't work right now.  OH well, you're used to rubbish pictures.  Now, the section of my desk that you can see shows that I have actually been making some cards.  Oh yeah.  Can't say 'I'm back' particularly, but at least I'm doing something!  Loads of rolls of glue dots at back...funny how favourites come around and go around. The button jar is being used illegaly to store a glue pen...or more correctly, a tube of PVA glue that is impossible to squeeze glue out of unless it's right in the tip.  And for a change, I can honestly say that the presence of the stapler has nothing to do with me.  When I left the house for a fun night with The Coven, it wasn't there.  So I can safely surmise that Mr D or Miss D has done something paper related this evening.  I'm posting at a ridiculous time today, to see if it helps or hinders you..please let me know!
So, share your space..desk, floor, tray, arm of chair, kitchen worktop..wherever and whatever you are creating, we like to see.  Use WOYWW in your post title so we can find it easily, and link your post here....we'll visit if we can.  But you have to visit too...reciprocal nosiness is very much a part of this thing!

  2. Hi Julia - number 2, I can't believe I've manage that??? Is it only May and I who are still up at this silly o'clock? And, bonus, you've posted early too ... working out fine for me this week but who knows what will happen next week - I might actually be in bed :) Anyway, good to see that you are crafting again and that the evidence is there for us all to see. That's it - I'm off to make a cuppa before I try to get some sleep. Happy WOYWW to you. Elizabeth x #2

  5. Always interesting. Hope you are feeling better, and I totally get the stapler situation. I came home to find my printer with all red lights flashing, and a piece of lined notebook paper jammed up in it. Apparently someone tried to print something...

Have a great woyww. Me? I prefer the early morning time to midnight.

  6. I swear Blogger has it in for me!!!! Yet AGAIN it's tried to send everyone the wrong place!!! Wey Hey so you're back.....sort of, you know what get some Flitter, it'll bring you back big style!!! Serious Playtime!!
now why is it that kids, grown and small, always assume that a crafting desk is a dumping ground? AND if you left their stuff lying around all over Their space, they would get huffy,( erm can you tell that thats been going on at mine?) and expect you to put it right....cheeky!! is what I call it, tidying up is what THEY call it!

Happy WOYWW hun, and I have been waiting since 11pm!!! LMAO, xx

  11. Love what's on your desk this week! It like the card I can see in the right upper corner.

This time is great for me as I always have so much going on in the mornings. This gives me a head start in viewing blogs and proved to work as of last week I was able to visit about 130 blogs.

  13. The posting early works great for me, because its right after dinner here!

That is very funny about the stapler, I think AJ would be afraid to touch something on my desk! I love the card you have up in the corner, and I think I spy some glossy accent there too!

    Happy WOYWW!!

  14. I think it's a great 'what you see is what you get snap' and after my computer crashing 5 times during my WOYWW post - I'm glad to see any resemblance of a crafty zone!Hubby only comes near my desk if he wants his trousers mending...!

  17. Hi Julia, That looks like a proper desk. Almost any sort of glue needs storing upside down, I reckon. Nobody touches my desk mess, but if they did, it would only be for the scissors. Your early posts work great for those of us on the other side of the planet, hehe!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, I love the earlier time, so I must learn to post in the late afternoon.

I haven't used glue dots in ages. I must get mine out and use them before they melt. I like the "illegal" use of the button jar (grin).

    ReplyDelete
  19. Happy WOYWW to you! I am a glue dot junkie - I like the tiny ones because I find them the most versatile! Of course, I always have to be careful that neither I or the cats end up sporting those dots in our hair!!!

  24. I loe your desk shot today Julia - wish I could see what the upside down stamp was, will you not learn to leave them right way up for us!!! The card looks fab, btw. Hope you had a good night out.
If you post at 1am I will have to get used to a place lower down the list as there is no way I can stay up that late to catch you, lol. Back to bed for my early morning cuppa before getting up all too soon, now!

I noticed the stapler sitting at the front of your desk but through by bleary eyes (no glasses on yet) it looked like a toy bus. Obviously now you mention it I can see it’s not but wonder for a split second what you were doing playing with boys toys. Lol.
Best find those glasses quickly me thinks.

It's my second week and I'm already addicted! Love that you organize this!!!

  42. At least the stapler was there (I assume it is yours?). When other people craft in my house it usually means I will spend a week going around their bedrooms retrieving various bits and pieces. Especially scissors, which is why I have so many pairs. You probably had all your congrats already but I have been away - was pleased to see you featured in Craft Stamper magazine but wonder how big this is gonna get - 7.30am and I look set to be n0 58 or so..... you've created a monster LOL. Go Julia!!

  76. Hi Julia - oh I do love to see a creative mess :)

Re. your SD card reader problem. If the reader seems to have given up the ghost, never fear. You can buy a little gizmo like a USB stick, it goes into a USB port but has a slot in the side for you to stick your SD card in. I know this 'cos my SD card reader spring mechanism became unreliable (over use from blogging!) and it was a life saver. Having said that, I just used it earlier and have now lost the flipping lid somewhere on my desk!! Di xx

I thought you were bathed in glorious sunshine when I first investigated your desk Julia, but I'm guessing it's a light. The glue dots companies must love you, I've never seen so many roles on one desk.

  117. I would like to think that the stapler just went snap snap snap and jumped onto your desk to be the feature of the pic this week. It's obv he's suffering from lack of attention syndrome, and maybe he needs refilling. Just give him some love this week OK...

  121. Gosh Julia, it seems you weren't the only one to get an early start!!
Your desk does look very busy this week. Looks like the crop-a-dile even got a bit of a workout. Love the button doo dads. Thanks for letting us share what we do.

  124. Hello, I'm from the Button Jar Police and I'm here to cite you for your infraction of co-mingling glue with buttons. You'll have to appear before the magistrate and there is bound to be fine, possibly jail time....

  126. Hello Mrs D.

It's so nice to be back with you this week. I've been absent with so many distractions and a lack of focus to boot!

I seriously must have attempted to write about 3 or 4 blog posts to join in over the last few months (I know its not a lot) and each time I start, things just happen with me which stops me in my tracks! I've even had my post this week on the go since last week!

I trust you are well and still staging this wonderful phenomenon each week. What a committment. ou rock!!!

    loads of hugs

  135. This is such a fun and popular weekly event. It's not even noon here in California and I'm number 171! Super to meet so many other people. Julia, I'm sorry, but I hit "tab" after my name and the site jumped and entered me at the bottom of WYOWW 139. I don't know how to delete it, so I left it there and just relinked again for today's 140. I guess it's sort of okay since my post is a continuation of last week's, but I'm sorry if it messes anything up. Thanks always for hosting this!

Evening Julia, haven't managed to visit many desks today, which is a bit of a shame after 3 weeks of 150+ oh well hopefully Wednesday won't come around again so quickly (where does the rest of the week go?) and i might get chance to visit everyone. Thank you for the fab advice on the glimmer mists i have no idea what to do with them so was going to look on utube for some tutorials so i will try your technique, and see what backgrounds i can make Hope you have a great week. 151. Hi again Julia,
Those water soluble oil pastels (Reeves brand) cost less than $14 (AUST). So, VERY reasonable, and they are good enough for me, at this time. (I know those Caran d'Ache ones are exhorbitantly expensive!) I'm very pleased with the way these work. And there are quite a few interesting projects in "Art to Wear"!

  152. The hero card looks very interesting and the buttons in the foreground and oh, most everything else! Patsy
