Statistically speaking...a photo less post.
I'm not hugely into numbers. I think numbers are too logical for me. They always have an answer that is either right, or wrong. And let's face it, if it's wrong, you have to do it all again and I hate that! See, too emotional...not using the correct side of my brain...I can't even remember which side is the emotional and which the logical!
However, the people at Blogger are all about statistics aren't they? You can just tell how much they love it...you can almost imagine the glee on their lovely nerdy faces when they decided to include a stats page on each blog (yeah, I'm down with the short speak..). A stats page that shows the numbers in numerical and graph form...oh my. I bet it's like new stash for them.
So, while Mr D crunches some numbers involving our domestic bliss, I thought to browse this rarely visited page. It's full of surprises actually. Not least that this will be the 661st post. Gracious, I knew I had a lot to say, but that was a surprise...because I've stuck with my original promise which was not to blog if I couldn't think of anything to say. You may have noticed that the 660 previous posts weren't regularly placed...apart of course from Wednesdays. So I thought, to celebrate the first post here on January 6th 2009, I'd offer some blog candy. But of course, it's unqualified, there are no photos of it and no particular following criteria or such. And you have to work for it. Please answer the following question in the comments:
Which part of my domestic bliss will be restored if Mr D makes the numbers work?
Here's a weak clue...I have whined about it previously! And....this offer has two conditions: you must leave your answer as a comment in this post and, you've only got till Wednesday 22nd. That's something to do with the side of my brain that doesn't like waiting.
Dearest Julia I don't understand what the hell you are on about! But then I have had the best part of two bottles of Cava today!!! Happy anniversary ;) You are a star ;)

Should I be frightened that I actually followed all of that? 'Course, I haven't been drinking like poor Sioux. LOL The only thing besides WYOWW links that are WYOWW-irrevelant that I can think of you whining about lately is the dishwasher that threatened to destroy the kitchen and forced you to do all of your Christmas washing up with your own little hands as the magical liquid soap elves were too busy out partying and the fam made themselves scarce. In any case, happy blogoversary... it's been an interesting year since I began stopping by to visit. =) Thanks! ~Christy
ReplyDeleteThe only thing i can think of is the ladder. Is he working out the space needed?
ReplyDeleteJulia congrats on 661 post that kind of blows my mind to honest all those posts and re domestic bliss, the ladder did cross my mind but thought it does not have much to do with crunching numbers! So then thought maybe has anything to do with having been a driver of small economical Yaris and now driving a spanking new white van which has some amazing capacity to suck up the juice?? well that's the run of my guesses and congrats again, Julia! Shaz in oz.x (who is supposed to be out there working.. and not on here!)
ReplyDeleteJulia, I have to tell you how much I appreciate the thoughtful comments that you leave on my blog on WOYWW. Thanks so much. I am hoping that Mr. D is going to replace that pesky dishwasher-a gal can't live without one!
ReplyDeleteBarb
Hi Julia, I'd go along with the New Dishwasher Required for Ultimate Domestic Bliss theory. (It certainly is around here!) I'm sure you've mentioned it more than once. Am happy to take part in your blog candy with no pics offer! Especially as you don't require any of those linky, put pic on your sidebar, jump through hoops, kinda things. And even though I managed to, at some point in the past, put the WOYWW thingy on mine, I couldn't tell you now how I did it. And the clock took ages and ages to figure out! I thought it was magic when I finally managed to get it there. Did I mention I was ever so slightly technology challenged?
ReplyDeleteCould be the old plateswoosher you mentioned, but it depends on perception...it could be moving that ladder sometimes spied in the garden through yonder window when a spare sunray is about... sort of thing I'd winge about. My hubby grills my stats almost daily and I must say the Belgian following was sadly low! Hooray for the Russians and Ozzies peeking in... Hope white van life is on the up... let us see a pic of the first teenage artwork to be written in the dust!
ReplyDeleteI am one of those nerdy people you speak of I love NUMBERS!! I check my stats page bi- weekly but as it is only my 3rd week following you I am not sure what Mr. D maybe crunching #s for except maybe to hire a driver for the new white can so you can get back to crafting more:) Congrats on 3 years and 661 posts!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blog post count - I occasionally look at my blog stats but I don't think they are always very accurate and anyhow it's only a bit of fun for me.
ReplyDeleteHave to join the bandwagon and think it's the dishwasher that could be made to number crunch, sometimes I wish I had one and there's only me.... glad you're not making us jump through hoops for your candy, too!
It's got to be the dishwasher, I am with you on numbers, they look good when they work, but when they don't they give me shivers.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing any of us can think about is the need for a new dishwasher for you....you obviously don't moan much :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sats and please keep up the good work with the blogging.
Hugs,
A x
I'm going with the dishwasher too... but am prolly way off the mark :)
ReplyDeleteI only just ventured into my stats page last week - blimey it's like another language. I was trying to blag a book off a publisher (am broke but still love new books!) and they asked my stats. How rude I thought but then realised what they meant! Ooer! When you work it out it makes for interesting reading doesn't it.
p.s forgot to say thanks you for the chance of the candy and not having to perform circus tricks to take part ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 3years and 666 posts ...oops 660.lol. I started end of 2008 on my other blog and ...together ...only have made just over a third of your number!!!
ReplyDeleteI love numbers ...but I'm not obsessed.
As for your winges and the return of domestic bliss I too can only think of the dish washer ...maybe its a new kitchen to surround the new washer ...now that would be bliss.
Like Carmen ...I'm glad I dont have to link etc ...not a strong point ..its the reason i dont bother with most blg candy....I wonder what it will be ....your old dish washer delivered by you???? lol xx
I'm gonna guess the dishwasher too.... if only i had the space i my little house for one. It would need to be in working order or I'd cry!
ReplyDeleteMy second guess would be the ladder but not sure about the numbers with that one and the van of course, fuel gusseling machines!

I must confess I sometimes wander over to my stats page - I like pretending to know what it all means! It's interesting to see what's your most popular page and where people are coming from - funnily enough woyww pops up quite a lot!
ReplyDeleteAs to the answer, I can only come up with something to do with the price of diesel and the new white van - suppose that may have something to do with domestic bliss?
My first reaction was also dishwasher but whatever it is I hope that a suitable degree of domestic bliss is restored soon
ReplyDeleteI love your posts! and your woyww...hoping if the dishwasher problem hasn't resolved itself, that Mr. D is fixing to find a way...that van looks like a scary venture as well...but I am seriously hoping it is something fun like cabinets for a crafty area or the like....just for fun...
ReplyDeleteThe only two things I can think of are the dishwasher and the ladder.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a 'numbers' person but there are a few scrapbookers out there who do monthly pages of just numbers and they are intriguing.

Not a clue. In my fogged brain I thought this was a post from way back in January 2009. Was it the three eggs and a lemon, the mega niece and her love (did they make it, are they still together?) - no of course it was not either of those - I am rambling!
ReplyDeleteBack to the "not a clue" - but I so enjoyed reading the beginning of your blogging.
Hugs, Neet xx
Stats page, what's a stats page? Eh what are stats!!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess the dishwasher has it, I've never had one so maybe I should have the blog candy as a consolation prize.
Are you still going to make it on Friday?
janet
your sanity !!!
ReplyDelete:)
Numbers give me hives. Unless they are the numbers on credit card with a big fat available balance that I don't have to pay off (which means numbers give me hives). I thought it was a washing machine that would give you the ultimate in domestic bliss. Well, actually I thought a serving boy would give you the most domestic bliss especially if he knew how to put ladders and other gardening implements away, but... I think it was actually a DISH washer machine. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteThe dishwasher is my number one guess. I thought of the ladder but that wouldn't require any number crunching, really.
I check my stats (being the new blogger that I am) and am always giddy when a new country pops up.
When I read your title I wondered if it were something to do with how many participants there are on Wednesday's now. Holy smokes!!
Happy anniversary!
Hugs,
Kay
well numbers are a necessary evil for most of us, but they are really nasty when you just don't get them!
ReplyDeleteNot really noticed you moaning, I kinda find your take on most things good and bad really amusing not whiny at all.
gotta go with the dishwasher being the thing that annoys you the most at the moment apart from not getting enough crafty time, lol.
well done on all those blog posts. You really are an inspiration to us reluctant bloggers
Either the ladder has been put away or you have a new dishwasher! Hope its both! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow funny that the dishwasher should come up so often together with the white van in the comments, makes me think of my dad who called all white vehicles "kitchen appliances on wheels"! I can't think of any other item round your house that you have moaned about...
ReplyDeleteThre's a stats page ... do I really need to view it,or can I just guess that I get visitors now and then?? I am married to a statician (think that;'s how you spell it!!!) so I can totally relate to your thinking on numbers. I have no aptitude for numbers, can't even remember my daughters' birthdays without really concentrating LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAs to your domestic bliss being restored .. the white van is high on my list, loved the pic of Mr D with it, although the dishwasher and ladder incidents are also things that would destroy my domestic bliss.
Hugs
Cathy xx
Julia, my dear, I have no idea what his number crunching could mean but I just popped by to ask if you heard yourself being mentioned on QVC today??!! It was in relation to Tim Holtz and how many WOYWW-ers have his photo on their desks as inspiration. So that's you and TH mentioned in the same sentence by the wonderful Dyan Reavely! How cool is that! See you (well your desk) tomorrow xx
ReplyDeleteHmm, yes, the dishwasher. Now, I can manage without a dishwasher. It's messy and untidy, but I get my hands out and wash the dishes et voila - the dishes are washed. What I cannot manage without, however, is the tumble drier. I know that because my tumble drier is broken and I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I finally crumbled in the face of much laundry and HUNG IT OVER THE BANISTERS, but really, it's so primeval, darling!
ReplyDeleteSo, Julia - is your blog candy by any chance a tumble drier??? :D x
Either the ladder or the shovel, new dishwasher perhaps!!! Hugs May x x x
ReplyDelete"I have whined about it previously!" Well that narrows it down a bit doesnt it??? *Rolls eyes*!! Haven't a clue dear but congratulations on finding the stats! I love mine, but then again, I know I'm a very logical person!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda
yup, i'm going for the dishwasher. or how about someone to do the stuff you do for the business so that you have all the time for crafting and blogging? sounds good to me. congrats on all the entertaining 661 posts!
ReplyDeleteDishwasher, without a doubt. But then you could aways tell him that you are happy for HIM to BE the "dishwasher" instead :). It always makes me happy when DH surprises me by doing them after dinner - although I DO catch him secretly assessing the number (and the intensity...spag Bol? No. Anything cooked in foil, yes ) before committing :).
ReplyDeleteMA
Definitely the dishwasher gets my vote for domestic bliss, which gives you more time for blogging, which makes us happy because your blogs are quite uplifting (not moany). Happy Anniversary! I'm afraid Mr. Blogger has me hooked on my stats page because I'm just a baby blogger and it's exciting to see if anyone cares to look and if I get a follower, whoot! That's why I love WOYWW so much - it really makes me feel a part of this community! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI would think that if he figures your the number thing you are going to move the ladder. I can't believe you still have such green grass.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck and Happy Anniversary.
I haven't been a follower for long but I do recall some discussion about a dishwasher....but, then again...the new van needs fuel so maybe that's the answer.
ReplyDeleteI don't look at the stats very often on my blogs but I do find the "Search Keywords" very intriguing...some of them are very odd.
Congrats on your stats:)
oho I did comment earlier, but it may have been when I lost internet connection! I said, that you had a lot of orange on your desk this week, and that your fork had been in the same place in your garden for a very long time!!! ...and something about our postman...oh dear, maybe I posted that in some one else's comment box...I'm sooo dipsy this week..thank you for taking out my wrong link, it was going back to you!
ReplyDeleteHave a good crafty week.
(Lyn)
My daughter has the opposite view on numbers (she's 8 btw). she says she likes maths better than writing because you can put numbers together and it's always a number. If you put letters together you don't always get a proper word! I haven't found the flaw in her logic yet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comments on my blog. I shall remember what you said next time I get the embossing powder out - I didn't realise you could over cook it.
