What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 138

Actually, nothing.  Well, loads of stuff of course, but nothing that shows I've moved on from last week..I've just covered it all up with office work, which does not merit a photo on the blog!  So instead, I've been planning and plotting, and here is my lap as at about 9pm last evening.  I did have my feet up on the wooden chest you can just see, but for reasons of anonymity, I put my feet on the floor and sat in the chair as I was taught by my mother. Grainy photo aside, I'm a bit jubilant that you don't get a down shot of my ample bosom and tummy too! This notebook shows stamp codes and ink colour choices - I've been asked to do a workshop for my friend Janet who has a shop in Exmouth and so I'm in planning stages...which is hard.  It involves looking at stamp catalogues.  I know.
Meanwhile, back in the real world...how goes it with you?  Show us do, how your mojo is allowing your work surface to evolve. Put a pic on your blog, put WOYWW in the post title and link it here.  I have to say that there were so many desks last week that I didn't make it...and blogger was a bit unco-operative too; it was heart-warming to read comments on my way around and discover it wasn't just my computer!  The thing is, I now have to decide - spend the week visiting WOYWW posts, or catchup with your blogs on other days as well...I'm a bit torn!

  1. Love the pic of your very cheerful and fluffy pen... looks like you have had some major writing, rubbing out and re-writing.. obviously choosing ink colours is quite a task!! :)

  2. I love your Hello Kitty pen! I hope the workshop planning goes well. I think I'd be in trouble looking through stamp catalogues...I'd end up spending lots of money I shouldn't!

  4. Ha! The hardship of browsing catalogs, poor poor you. :) Me? I've been cleaning. Dead boring but necessary. Won't say much cause Blogger hates me. One finger tap typing in the dark is only worth t if the moment actually posts :)

  16. Happy Wednesday Julia! Wasn't all the posts last week awesome! Like you I wasn't able to make it around to all the blogs but I did make it to a lot. I am working on some projects for classes at my friends store but luckily I just go in there and pick out products and tell her to pull them from inventory for the class. I take them home and make the project. Love it. Hope you have a great week. Vickie#27

  20. Hello Julia! Always enjoy a laugh or two reading your posts...you can really describe things in and "interesting " way. Also enjoyed your post about the dinner you took Mr and Miss Dunnit too. That would certainly drive me crazzzzzzzzzy. My eyes are too tired for that stuff. I think that may be a sign of age...OH MY!

  26. LOL, maybe we should change this thing to what's on your lap wednesday? I thought this week I would ad my link extra early, but I'm amazed at how many people are in front of me. This can only mean one of two things: either they all live in Australia and New Zealand (where the time is ahead of mine)which I doubt, or they all post their stuff on tuesday or in the middle of the night. ;-)

  42. Ahh yes the trauma of needing to spend money for something ;) a hardship for any lady especially one of a crafting persuasion - where to stop! I do find that now I partake of several blogs that it is a time consuming process. I always reply to the hostess but if people don't talk to me then I tend not to talk back these days - have to make a decision somewhere!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Cute pen - I think this is the first shot of your space without your tape gun in sight - have a great week

  44. I love looking through crafty catalogues, I just have to try and not be tempted to spend spend spend. I have got myself a notebook now as I kept writing on post it notes, but got fed up of them all over the place lol. My problem is I can't just look at a woyww post, I have to then go looking through the rest of the blog which sometimes leads into an hour gone by and I haven't even managed to comment lol. I have blogiversary candy this week, pop on over as I would love you to have a chance of winning. Kezzy xxx (p.s for candy all you need to do is comment so really easy lol).

That way you'll have more time for crafty things. :)

  55. As much as I love technology, there is nothing better for planning than paper and pen. I write LOTS of lists and I much prefer writing by hand. I've got a purple pen much like yours except that it is obviously working for you. LOVING the zebra print - reminds me of that animal print couch last week! Have a good one!

  56. Yes it is always a decision - just do the woyww or look through the whole lot - but then you get so sidetracked you end up looking at one or two blogs the whole evening! Huh! Enjoy the stamp picking!!

  61. Ah... planning... we all have to do it sometimes! I love the planning notebook and bejewelled pen enthroned atop the royal satin cushion! I am sure the results will be nothing short of regal.

As you can see, I made it this week! Not sure how long this will last as I've been really poorly since Christmas, but I was determined not to go on missing out this week. Not sure how many desks I'll visit as my resources are limited and I need to spend more time acquainting myself with Sheba (my Black Cat Cougar cutting machine) and what she can do for me.

    Have a great WOYWW, everybody.

  66. Morning Julia and everyone else. For me, it was not just Blogger who was having an off day last week. The whole internet seemed to be on a go slow, which, when you consider that we are supposed to have had our speed doubled, does not make much sense. Hope you planning goes well and you have a wonderful class. xx Maggie #91 (I think)

  86. I sympathise with the whole planning thing.Sometimes it comes easy and you have way too many ideas and have to narrow it down or you just can't pull a decent project together at all. My little grand daughter Amillie would kill you for that pencil.....well not literally of course but she does love Kitty A LOT!!!!

I think you have now made everyone realist that it isn't just us who struggles to get around all the desks, so thank you for that, I won't feel quite so guilty now.

  126. Julia you remind me that I have to do some thinking/planning instead of running around like a chicken with its' head cut off clutching a paint brush with no plans!!!! *smiles* Norma

  127. Julia, there are times when we just have to spend time planning and organising to be able to come up with what we truly want to create...I'm sure you will work out what you need to do. Thanks for giving us all this opportunity to share a la "show and tell style".

Now to trawl through all the blogs...can't wait!!

  129. Julia - thank you. I'm not sure I've ever told you thank you for the WOYWW community that you've started. It is wonderful to be a part of something that just seems to continue to grow.

  130. Ok, I've linked up for the first time, but I'm afraid I didn't link to the exact page, but to my blog. Simply because I don't know how to do that. Wouldn't appreciate if someone could share with me how.

  132. Thanks for hosting this weekly event and for visiting my blog. It's so nice of you to provide a spot for us all to share our work. Have a great week ♥ P.S. I would have responded directly to your comment but unfortunately you're set up as a no-reply blogger. There is a "fix" for that and if you'd like to see how to change your status you can read about it on my blog here http://www.myheartartbygeri.com/2011/10/ive-posted-this-before-but-i-think-its.html

  134. Hi Julia,

Thank you for your comment! That is a big top tea pot, my apartment looks out over a pier with a Ferris wheel and everything, so I like to keep it on the windowsill to go with the scene. Also - I get all freaked out if I've only got one cutter out! I use one for pictures and smaller items, and one for 12x12 sheets and making strips. Technically, they belong on the shelf under the desk, but they never end up there!

  135. i love the thought behind this one.

I thought i had originally placed myself on here on Wednesday but for some reason i messed up.

i am hoping between posts looking for inspiration - had an op last weeek and i need to do as little as possible for a month - obviously the doc has told me to craft for a month!!! Hubby most probably doesn't see it this way.

  136. what a fun idea I don't have the luxury of a desk or ongoing work surface. I work on the kitchen table so it all gets cleaned up but I love seeing others creative spaces and ways.
