What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 112
Well well and my my, here's a return to form. No evidence of the crop stash, but plenty else of abandoned and part used. Also a nice, arty expanse of genuine white space! I took this photo on Tuesday afternoon - a strange, warm but very dull day. It started with heavy rain. I should know. I walked home through it at 9 o,clock after a very early appointment! The button jar lid is open - for no reason. The cutting mat is covered in white paper - to protect the erm, cutting mat. I've been doing some fairly heavy duty inking. Trying to get a grip of grunge paper. Hmmm. Interesting.
Meanwhile, because I can and I'm all generosity in my shocking untidiness, here's an aerial view. It looks a deal worse, huh! Rather inevitably, you can see a dictionary page. I'm fiddling about with an idea. So, no plans to tidy up just yet!
Join me do - upload a photo of your work space to your blog and link here so that we can all trip round and have a look. That's all there is to it. It's fun.
I love the view of the garden you have ... very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI really love this shot - not sure how much I would get done if I had such a great view!
ReplyDeletePaying Pink tribute to you today... you'll see - Happy WOYWW!

You do have a rather nice view from your work desk... and it doesn't look that a bad a day... I've had thunder and lightning and sideways rain this afternoon... the cats decided that I was the safest thing in the house and laid down either side of me in the hope that I would protect them from the elements... which I did... of course!! :)
ReplyDeleteButtons feature on my desk this week too. I had a jar like that and I'm finally sorting colours - tedious to the extreme! Interested to see what becomes of the dictionary page... :)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I am in love with those clock rubber stamps. I so love clocks. Your stamps look awesome and each is a bit different. I'm intrigued about the dictionary paper. Sounds like my kind of background. Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia

Great desk, great view too! I wouldn't get anything done, I would be ditracted watching for birdies!
ReplyDeleteI rather like playing with grunge paper - I like the way it holds its shape when rolled & curled.
ReplyDeleteLovely view - my desk window looks out on a fence and a brick wall.

I thought the jar of buttons was a jar of sweets! Lovely and colourful...looking forward to seeing what you do with the dictionary page-sounds just up my street.
ReplyDeleteNice to look out on to the garden, whatever the weather. Like the album pages - cool
ReplyDeleteThanks for the view with a view! love the piles of stuff on your desk, mine always is a variation of this!
ReplyDeleteGreat space and a lovely view too - I could sit and daydream for hours there! Have a great day. x Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I have just bought some grunge paper after seeing the roses that can be made. I Think this week the creating is being done in your head ready for your next set of scrapbook pages, Have a great Wednesday x
ReplyDeleteGrunge on your desk?? Are we in some sort of parallel universe?! And what words are on that dictionary page, what letter is featured and are there any unusual words - we have to know :) xx
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining here too! For being half a world away, Seattle WA and England are awfully similar! I must remember to cover my cutting mat. I never do :( Oh well! Space is great! Definately feeling loved! Great crafting and glad you enjoyed your crop!- Amanda #36
ReplyDeleteAh dear Julia, love the view like everyone else and the clock images are good too... should send you some sun but we like all ours over here - greedy sorry! but end of our day now, must go get tea, happy WOYWW! Shaz in oz.x
ReplyDeleteWhite space...enjoy it while you can. Looking forward to hearing you Grunge paper saga -just don't ink up the wrong side...go for the furry one!
ReplyDeleteI am sure that button jar is taking a bite out of that beautiful garden, trying to swallow as much as it can before the end of the season! Always stretching my neck for a better view and this is the best yet! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteevery time I use grunge papaer I think - hmmm - prefer fabric.....leather....rubber...then i start thinking am I heading into kinky territory???
ReplyDeletegimp crafters....
I'm making a 'mask', don'tcha know
dx
Long time no see Julia! Sorry I've not been about, this job of mine plays havoc with my creative and blogging time :( so I'm trying to make up for it as it's now the summer hols. Anyway I'm glad to see that things havent changed, hopefully I'll get around to seeing a good few of everyones blogs later on - unfortunately the housework is calling.
ReplyDeleteSam x
Well, we're having a typhoon here in Manila, no classes. So my son is delirious! And what does he do? Goes off to watch Captain America in the mall! I like your clock stamps and the view from your desk! Patsy from
ReplyDeleteHeARTworks
I love the business of your desk ...and those stamps ....I so want them. Now grunge paper is something I have never tried ...but I have some!!!. I actually need a grunge board sheet for a class ....do I have one ...no....now how can I improvize??
ReplyDeleteIs it me or are your links set over and thus most are hidden? ...just thought I'd mention xx
Wouldent get much done if my desk had as good a view as yours! I love it!I like the watch face stamp!
ReplyDeleteLavinia

I hope you don't mind me joining in ... I've been following WOYWW for a while and having desk envy lol - lovely view from yours!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see your grunge paper efforts - I've got a couple of packs sitting around and I really need to do something with it more interesting than making flowers. Or at least make some different flowers, lol.
ReplyDeleteHelen S
Lovely looking clock stamps, looking forward to seeing your grunge. Don't you just love Ikea - I've got that lamp, added a daylight bulb and I can craft at night too! Happy Wednesday
ReplyDeleteLove it when you have the doors to the garden open, looks like a real boost to creativity.
ReplyDelete** Kate **
Nothing like a great view to help creativity! Yours is wonderful and there must be quite a bit of wonderful light coming through there! Love your desk...you just tell it like it is!
ReplyDeleteLooks positively tidy compared to my desk!
ReplyDeleteTuesday started rainy here in Yorkshire but ended up turning into a lovely sunny day. :)
Hi Julia - my laptop screen now has a noseprint smudge on from me having a jolly good look around your desk :) As others have said, lovely view! I have a tree quite close to my craftroom window - great to watch the birdies, or is it them watching me? But then, in Summer I can't easily see any further than the tree :(
ReplyDeleteI spotted those fabby pointed, bent ended tweezers - I couldn't work without mine! Oooh, and stamps.............oh, buttons and..........and.....and!!! Happy WOYWW! Di xx
Oh yes, the aerial shot does look worse.... hmm I always take an aerial shot of my desk, maybe I should stand back a bit to make it look better :o) looks like you've been busy with the grunge! not gone down that road.... yet.... you can acheive some great effects though, enjoy playing.
ReplyDeleteLove it all.. the open window, the open button jar... I have an idea for that that I'll probably post about on Friday... come see! ((((hugs))))
ReplyDelete#65
Hi Julia, love the incidental view of your garden - just trying to make us all jealous, are you??? I have to stand up to see mine ... sigh. Getting the grunge effect is a bit of a challenge for me too ... see you have some good stamps for the purpose, that fobwatch is fab. Great aerial shot - I often wonder what any stray bypasser must think when I'm taking shots of the old craft space, especially when I'm teetering on a chair ... no wonder they avoid eye-to-eye contact :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteThe view of your garden is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a fab night last night just remind me not to order the cheescake again do you think they were telling me I had had enough??
See you sooon x
Love the view of the garden! And the pocket watch stamps - just got one like that myself and having a play!
ReplyDeleteYour scrapbook pages for your friend are fab! Bet she loves them
Deb x
sorry been a bit AWOL - and only the merest hint of a desk on my post today - but thought I would pop in to say Hi in case you thought I was dead LOL
ReplyDeleteVery devious - a desk that looks tidy from one direction and messy from another - I wish I could do that with my whole house - well the looking tidy bit = anyway! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice view from your big window! I love your tall jar of buttons...fun! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've been working on some fun stuff! love the window view. Oh, wish you could send some rain our way. We need it!
ReplyDeleteDeb
xx
That's an awesome aerial shot. :)) That's how my desk looks up close, too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the view out of the window, for some reason I always thought you were in the conservatory, now I know better! Never tried the grunge paper thingy before, let us see the results. Love the stamps you've got out though.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda
Are you sure that is a button jar? Looks like sweeties from here!!
ReplyDeleteLiking the watch stamp I can spy there!
May the grunge be with you!! Feel the grunge!!!
Liking the layouts you did on the weekend!!
I love, love, love your view from the workdesk. How on earth do you get anything done? I would be so distracted. Looks like you are cooking up a storm on that desk.
ReplyDeleteJulia, darling, piles of stamps and ink can NEVER be a bad thing! I love the aerial view! Absolutely fabulous!
ReplyDeleteA woman after my own heart Julia, I just don't have the time or inclination to tidy it's no where near as much fun as the "crafting" part.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing....I'm in a rubber quandary...what to use first! It's a hard life, LOL, not! Beats doing the mountain that is my ironing pile though.
Happy crafting, Erika.
Love the brightness of your workspace Julia! Looks like you are working as per usual...helps being surrounded by stuff I say...More is MORE!
ReplyDeleteLove the view and the big jar of buttons. I would have a lot of fun with that! Have a super week!
ReplyDeleteI still can't get over your view, Julia...it's just so green and beautiful. Green is my favorite color so maybe that's why it draws me...or maybe because green is so full of life.
ReplyDeleteGoogle still won't let me post here the easy way.
Lovely view of your garden and your desk looks like it's so much fun with all the stamps and paper!!! A very CREATIVE mess! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely view from your window! I also have a view onto the garden but my main work table faces the wall so not too many distractions! I love the idea of you "protecting your cutting mat" - great excuse!!! It's really dark and muggy here in glorious sunny Devon (not) and threatening rain if not thunder. Trying to fix our horrendous broadband "speed" today in between receiving my Tesco online order etc. so no time so far to get in my ARTHaven and get creative.
ReplyDeleteWell you can tell I'm under the weather, I've just a sat down and opened the laptop and thats when I realised it was Wednesday, so no desk from me this week. Great to see you return to normal service. Hugs Pam
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see it in a state of normality after your bragfest about putting away the stash from your crop. It forced me to empty and put away all the stuff from my Sunday Padgate Crafters workshop. At least you are busy crafting and having fun.....
ReplyDeletelove JoZarty x
Julia! Don't clean up just yet! The muse is at work! Just sit, smell the breeze (I can sure smell it in my imagination), and in no time at all the muse will tell you what it wants. You are its' slave after all (giggles)! Love that view. How lovely. And I love your stash of goodies to work with. I see fun ahead!!! *smiles* Norma
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I spotted was your lovely view of the garden Julia. I'd get nothing done with a window like that!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been cloudy here all week too. What's happened to the lovely sunshine of Sunday.
I love grungepaper, or rather the board, it's great for tough construction and I love the smell!! Weird I know.
Hugs Lisa #103
great shot, and you face the backyard. love it.
ReplyDeleteThis time I want to say that this WOYWW is really great. Sniffing around and pick up some inspiration. Thanks for all these creative Wednesdays. And... you have a great desk too.
ReplyDeleteBye, Franka
I'm loving your blog! This WOYWW really appeals to me - I'll be back every week! So glad I found this x
ReplyDeleteit all looks very creative,I'll be interested to see what you do with the dictionary page
ReplyDeletejanet
p.s. you wouldn't have seen me in the fabric shop.... I dont work Tuesdays
I love taking a peek at your space every week.Looking forward to seeing what happens with the dictionary page. My own WOYWW post this week is decidedly different than usual!
ReplyDeleteSheena B
I love looking at everyone's desk so I decided today was the day I would join in the fun. I think this is going to be a "great" habit for me thanks Peggy C
ReplyDeleteLove the view of the garden from your desk - which has got me thinking I should switch to the other side of the table during the day when I scrap as I would have a perfect view of my garden too! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteSarah x x x
What a lovely view from your workspace. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the dictionary page.
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of those clock face stamps:) No desk from me this week, but I'll be tripping round the others when I get a chance!
ReplyDeleteHi there, Thanks for sharing your desk this week! I'm dashing around this week like the white rabbit; places to go and things to see! Hope you have a lovely week. But I actually managed to go through everyone's post this week and then realised I had not commented on yours! PS Tim's tissue tape dispenser; bit of a gadget (albeit a nice one) problem being if you want to use a different tape then you waste some changing so you won't change it so then it's back to using your hand. Unless of course you are like Tim and have one for each!
ReplyDeletei'm late, i'm late for a very important date...sorry I missed you on Wednesday but I was in trying to get baby turned around. I did post on Tuesday but then panic ensued and didnt get any further than that, lol.
ReplyDeleteWe did a whole lot of inking on saturday so I am loving my heat resistant mat, which also allows ink to be wiped off easily.
