My work desk is looking a bit grown up. But it's OK, because the file and work books are naturally, on top of the craft stuff I was using to make a card and so order will be restored presently! This could be the worst photo of the day - the light is horrible. You can just see my next intention though - some (in real life) very bright and cheerful 12 x12 papers. I'm on a mission to complete an album, as a gift. More later. I promised myself that I wouldn't specifically buy stuff for it. FAIL. These three sheets of paper and the album itself....and counting, probably! Never mind....as it's the Crop on Saturday, I'm hoping it will be worth the new stuff to motivate me with the older stuff. Good plan.
So come on then, join the WOYWWERs who are WORLDWIDE. No that second big word is not a pointless acronym. A fun fact! Upload a photo onto your blog of your workspace...desk, floor, tray, worktop, counter, blah, surprise us. Come back and link it here and join us on a vist-a-thon. You may need to put the kettle on. That's all there is to it. Only rule is not to tear the backside out of our goodwill by blatantly advertising....we wanna see what you're doing, with what you've got. Great. Thanks.
lovely yummy paper there
ReplyDeleteLove the papers !Your desk is remarkably tidy compared to mine this week!
ReplyDeletehugs judex
You could have said what the papers were 'cos they are a fabby colour and design and would make a a mini album!! Its a bit dark and murky in the basement here too... thunderstorms and hailstones and rain and the weather channel said something about a typhoon warning? Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteOh what great goodies you are showing today - love the papers!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy WOYWW!

Hi Julia
ReplyDeletethose new papers are lush, im sure they will kick start you, look forward to seeing the finished album, happy WOYWW, sue,x
I really love the colors and patterns of these new papers. I hope they take you through your crop this Saturday and you will have lots to show us on Monday (hint, hint). As for the lighting, I guess I'll use that excuse for EVERY photo I take in my craft room. I think yours is pretty decent.
ReplyDeleteI don't know it is about new DP...my eyes glaze over and I just have to have it...my poor neglected stash LOL! Looks like you are putting some serious planning in to your Saturday project...can't wait to see it! My crafty spot is trashed this week...OH MY!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia Glad to know someone else is suffering from "layers of stuff" syndrome on their desk - not just me who is planning a tidying blitz !! Enjoy your crop ! Ali #23
ReplyDeleteNii-ice papers!
ReplyDeleteBTW, no idea why I have GDT next to me my name on the linky- well, I have an idea, it's cos it's too early and my brain's not woken up yet. Sorry x Lisa :)
That sure was a good choice of papers you made yesterday - I love the spots/stripes/flowers in the same tones. Good times :) See the garden in the background, are the cherry stones still there???!.....
ReplyDeleteYay! So autoposting works! Lovely selection of new papers, I'm sure you can find something to mix in with them. Very dark and dismal here, is it really July?
ReplyDeletei love the colors and patterns of those papers and the seating area by the garden looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteJust my colours in your papers - bet Wipso says she doesn't like the green tho!! Have a great day. x Jo
ReplyDeleteYour workdesk does look a bit scary with a calculator in the middle of it - they always bring bad news in my opinion! Pretty papers there ready to be used and in the distance a ScorPal - aren't they brilliant! :-)
ReplyDeleteI can see why you had to buy those papers - they are so pretty, and lovely colours. Have fun making the album with them.
ReplyDeleteYour desk makes me sad today, get all that grown up paperwork outta the way and get yourself inky woman :oP
ReplyDeleteOh and have a great rest of the week xx
hugs Minxy x
I'm on a quest to use only stuff I have on hand, too. No new buys for a while. :) But it's hard. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHehehe Twiglet thinks she knows me so well :-) I actually love the papers you're using Julia...even with the green :-)
ReplyDeleteA x
love those retro papers and bah humbug to paperwork...time to get playing Mrs...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat papers!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That is a scarily grown up desk, glad to see there are still papers and stamps visible.
ReplyDeleteohooo you have a big wheelie-bin, how do you find it? apart from just walking outside and there it is! does that mean you have a two weekly collection? We don't want that here..but my s-i-l-thinks they're the bee's knees...and it for it.(shoot him if he wasn't taking me to see Harry Potter later!...)Where we stayed in Spain they had a daily collection!! Great desk this week, and there's me, a 'bit' sort of "tidy"
ReplyDeleteYour filing system looks a bit like mine... box files and boxes for bits...and piles...the nice kind...have a great day!!
(Lyn))
Those papers are just gorgeous. I'm sure you NEEDED to buy them
ReplyDeleteQuite a tidy desk...and I am also loving the new paper's, shame on you for not telling the name of them !!!!! Have fun using them though
ReplyDeleteI know it's difficult to finish a project first before bying new stuff. Especially when you've find some gorgeous paper, like you did.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely WOYWW.
Bye, Franka
I wonder if you were taking your gloomy photo under the same cloud that opened above our heads as we were enjoying an afternoon at the lavender field with Year 4? It's still here, outside my house....Good luck with the album, I like those papers.
ReplyDeleteHelen S
Those PPs are lovely - look forward to seeing the album.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Love the colors on the papers! They are just like the card I just completed! What a great idea to gift an album! Have fun putting it together at the crop! -Amanda #45
ReplyDeleteNearly forgot to comment, usually its because I'm running out the door, which I will be in 10 mins straight to the dentist again, thinking of having a bed put in his spare room! but my distraction was caused by the beautiful wrapping on the present in the post below!! Love the bright papers on your desk. Hugs Pam x
ReplyDeleteGood plan! Sounds like one of mine, I can always justify buying new stash somehow, enjoy the crop. Happy Wednesday! :)x
ReplyDeleteYoy look as though you are going to be busy ...brilliant idea to make the album WITHOUT more purchasing of papers etc ....shame about the willpower lol
ReplyDeleteJulia we all have that grown-up stuff to do, it's just that most of us do stuff it away again asap, lol.
ReplyDeleteI like the funky papers you have to play with. Dont you think that they can actually affect your mood? I sometimes find vintage stuff can make me sentimental, but nice vibrant papers put me in a very good mood - in Scotland or Turkey hee hee!
have a great week. caroline #50
Oooh pretty papers! My desk has been similarly adorned recently... but I cleared aside the PAYE paperwork for my photo!
ReplyDeleteMorning! I couldn't have resisted that paper either - very versatile! Hope you are well planned for the crop, I find it really helps. I managed 7 and a half layouts at our 12 hour one on Saturday (the half was a double page that I couldn't make work with the final twiddly bits.) Now put that grown up stuff away! xx
ReplyDeleteFAbulous papers lovely fresh colours. Hmmm I promise myself every week that I'll not spend another penny on craft items not until I've used up what I already have, this promise is always doomed to failure. So I live contented in the knowledge that I'm a craft junkie. Hope you show what you do with those yummy papers.
ReplyDeleteKathleen x
grown up desks scare me.... but at least there is that lovely new paper to see! Very retro looking.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day...
Love these papers you are showing today! They will make a wonderful scrapbook!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia new stash is always a good thing and those papers look fab I went on a bit of a net shopping spree to help my mojo along too, well I sort of had too lol! hugs Rebekah #60 xx
ReplyDeleteI know all about buying for an album when you have perfectly good papers somewhere...lol...I just did it for my brother's album. But I couldn't help it, the paper pad I bought has a perfect image of a dog in a park! *smile*. Ahhh, how we justify! Have a nice WOYWW...
ReplyDeleteI'm confused, I thought u were having The Big Shuffle 2011 so u wudn't have to put boring work stuff on ur play desk? Did that get aborted in favour of G&T?
ReplyDeleteThose are such gorgeous papers Julia! But, like others, the grown-up paperwork scares me. Hope I don't get drummed outta the Wonderful WOYWW Club - I tidied my desk this week. Too wet to go out to play and too little space to craft so no option really :( Di xx
ReplyDeleteGreat looking desk this week. Beautiful papers you have out there to play with. Love those shades of blues and greens together. Hope you can get your work done so you can play a bit today. Vickie
ReplyDeleteWow! mine never looks this grown up!!
ReplyDeleteL xx
The view from your window looks amazing! Love those papers, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful papers, and your desk is SO much neater than mine LOL !!!
ReplyDeleteLove the papers, nothing like a bit of new stash to get you going, you'll be ploughing through some old supplies before you know it! I'm gradually getting a few bits together to create an album... well very gradually, I bought some binding rings Ha Ha! Just trying to decide wether to get some chipboard sheets now or use thick card hhhmmm decisions??!! Not done one before so we'll see how I get on. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOyWW Ms. Dunnit - just admit it - you're a hoarder:)
ReplyDeleteThose new papers look gorgeous, Julia, my favourite colours. It's so hard not to buy something new and special when you are making a gift isn't it, despite all good intentions, I'm the worst at it. I hope we see the finished book, I'm sure it'll be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW.
Hugs Lisax #72
Hope those papers kick start your project, they do look rather nice
ReplyDeleteOh your such a tease!!! showing us thoes beautiful papers like that!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peak into your staging grounds!!!
And thanks for the kind words last week too!
You BOUGHT an album! Oh, Julia! *lol*
ReplyDeleteOkay, I can see that you're too busy to actually make the album as well... but I know with your talents a hand-made album would have been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Still... I can see with those papers (and your crafty-ness) it's going to be a beautiful and special item :) Share when it's finished! *lol*
Loving your desk again this week... so much gong on, and everything to hand. Love the intrigueing little pile of stamps'n'stuff next to your Scor-Pal :)
Have fun with your album. Love the papers. Lots of little goodies within your stacks. What would life be if we couldn't shop a little!!! Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteI do have to say that now I don't feel so bad about my desk. LOL I think that if the desk is clean, there is no work being done. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Those are lovley DP by the way...love that colour combination!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't buy those FOR the project...you just *happened* to pick them up after you thought of doing it an they just *happened* to work really well with the project idea you had formulating. And anything else you may pick up will simply *happen* to suit the project, as well! HA! :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes we need to have a taste of the new to give us fresh ideas for the old.
ReplyDeleteIf life was not meant for us to indulge in a little temptation once in a while why is there so much of it around us?
Good luck on the album! Love the papers - don't be too hard on yourself. A little shopping can spark the inspiration you need! :)
ReplyDeleteOoops! I posted my site twice because I had an old link so re-posted my new link that says THIS ONE!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning!
ReplyDeleteSometimes our photos don't always turn out the way we wanted but your photo is certainly not the worst! :<) Today mine look a bit golden in color but that's ok. They all show we are creating! :<)
Wishing you a wonderful day! I can't wait to start looking at everyone's postings!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
MMmm I must try this Scrapbooking at some point, I have loads of albums hanging about! Its a pain taking pics eh, my room's sometimes dark too, amazingly is sunny here in Manchester today!

What a great idea this WOYWW!! Funny how I wasn't supposed to spend anything on papers to make my mini-album either and yet, after spending over half an hour looking through what I already have, I just couldn't find the inspiration... So off to the store I go!!! Thanx Julia for lending us your space to share our mess... I mean creative spaces :)
ReplyDeleteNoukie xx
The papers are very pretty. WOYWW has inspired me to get more organized, which I blogged about today. Have a super week.
ReplyDeleteOooh lots of papers to keep you busy. Good luck on the album, I'm sure it will be great. Happy WOYWW and thx for hosting.
ReplyDeleteI love stacks and working on top of stacks! Beautiful papers! Happy WOYWW! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe pimms event is getting closer, and i think you should bring those lovely papers and come and play at mine!!
ReplyDeleteLeandra
Just signed up for WOYWW - looks like a lot of fun! Lovely to see your workdesk - very pretty paper too.
ReplyDeleteRunning late this week, but I am back & blogging, lol.
ReplyDeleteA little crafty spend is good for us - or so I keep telling myself - have fun with your gift project
ReplyDeleteI really like the green and blue stripes, dots and flowers. Lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the scrapbook papers :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in denial re my grown up stuff...much rather play with pretties!
ReplyDeleteLove those papers. I keep saying - to no one in particular- that I am going to make with what I already have in my stash- it never ever happens. Always end up buying something- fun though. Anne x
ReplyDeleteThanks! Am new here - but already, your papers remind me of a set of co-ordinated papers/stickers I have buried somewhere from years ago! Now I am going to go find them and actually DO something with them instead of hoarding!!!
ReplyDeleteHi all this is my first WOYWW...only just made it tho
ReplyDeleteHappy craftin
Rebecca
Lovely workspace, grownup business aside lol. My OCD doesn't really kick in for other people's stamps btw, unless you told me to put them away, then I'd blink at you and think, but where??? lol. One note about page protectors, use the smooth shiny ones. It failed miserably with the "non glare" ones.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Miss D, the books are head and shoulders about the movies, but I really try to think of them as rather separate tales about the same people. Usually I have a rule, movies first, than the books, but it was one I had to break for HP :D. Hope your Wednesday was marvelous!
hmm....new stash.......(crafters can't help themselves.....its like an addiction!!).
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late post (at new crafting group yesterday!!).
kyla
Unfortunately all our desks have to take on a ‘grown-up’ look from time to time Julia but at least there’s always the promise of ‘fun’ when that stuff is done.
ReplyDeleteLoving the new papers, very bright and cheery and I’m sure they will inspire you to use up some of your older stash too because I can’t believe that you don’t have something in all those drawers and boxes that will complement the new papers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your lovely message, it’s so kind of you.
Happy Crafting!

Hi Julia, in reply to your Q about glue, I use the PVA glue for flowers, pearls etc and Collal Photo glue for the layers since it's a little more forgiving if I get it wrong :o) Thanks for popping by. April x
ReplyDeleteLoved stopping by tonight to add my link. Looking forward to checking out everyone's posts.
ReplyDeleteLaughed about your 'fail.' I'm always telling myself I need to use what I have first and then I buy something else! :) Hope you'll share pics of the album when you're done!
Happy WOYWW!
Lovely colours on those 12x12's.
ReplyDelete** Kate **
Really loving those papers they are really yummy. I love collecting papers but really struggle using them as I'm not great with colour matching, but making it top priorty as I have banned myself from buying more until I use them lol. Kezzy x
ReplyDeleteWow gorgeous papers Julia, the view is spoilt a tad with that official looking stuff though! love your gorgeous filmo roses in
