What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 109

Thanks to the splendiferoulsy bonza friend who is Lunch Lady Jan, we didn't miss a week just because I was on me hols, and indeed, wasn't last week interesting? Her stuff is fab, as I hope I keep telling her. And yes folks, that is a link; you did what I couldn't do alone and convinced her to start blogging. Hurrah! Another desk to pick over. *grin*
My desk is a study in erm, getting stuff done. At this point I'm on go number 3 of a card that should feature bright flowers and awesome colouring. Can't choose the right flower. Come back some time and see what it ended up as - I don't know at this stage if it will even stay on a red and black mount. That will depend on the flower...
You can see my Copics - about to go back to their home, no good for what I was trying... and bottom right you can just see a portion of new wood mounted stamps. Shopkeeper Gal had a sale of ex TV stuff....the wood mounts were begging to come home with me. And so they did. You could never accuse me of cruelty to a wood mounted stamp!

So - upload a pic of your desk to your blog, link here by way of inviting us all around to see what you're doing - paper, work, fabric, wool, writing...whatever, show us! We'll visit, slowly and surely. Put the kettle on. I thank you. That's it, no other membership rules, no commitments to weekly showings, just join us as and when you can. We like flexibility. Well, I do. And at my age, that can only be a good thing.

  18. Flexible? Mmm, yes it takes me half an hour to get down under my workbench to switch on the plug, and then just as long to stand up again, to turn on the computer! but on saying that, I do feel better for doing it! Welcome back, we did miss you, but your friend Lunch Lady Jan did a marvellous job! Your well organised desk look great to me.

  35. cruelty to stamps, oh - yes sometimes I take a scalpel to the bits I don't like - altered stamping I call it, well really, some of the sentiments are just a bit too sentimental for me,

now off to see what LLJ has got to show for herself this week... and the others, not back at work till tomorrow you see, so I have ALL DAY to desk hop - heaven....I have put the kettle and the teabags next to the mac and put a pressure relieving cushion on the chair - I am in for the duration.....

  38. You make me yearn to step inside a bricks and mortar shop and riffle through the stamps! Sadly, I doubt if I will get there this side of the summer holidays, if it wasn't for those pesky kids with their busy schedules!

  64. Hi Julia, hope you are well rested and raring to go after your holiday. And, congratulations on succeeding in getting Lunch Lady Jan into blogland - a clever ploy if ever I saw one. She did do a sterling job in your absence. There's just something about wood-mounted stamps that makes them so special - can quite see how you had to rescue them. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #72

  69. I haven't been here for a while (life somehow gets in the way sometimes) - glad to see someone else who is a copics girl, although I have to confess that at Hobbycraft today a few packs of promarkers somehow found their way into my basket. x

  74. Thanks for your comments. Truth is I don't have time for everything, but I'm very good at multitasking - kids' tea was cooking while I was blogging. I put my sympathy card together while they were eating and I was trying to listen to R tell me about Pokemon. I do think I am a better person because I have hobbies as well as being a teacher and mother, but I don't know whether I'm a better teacher and mother!
Tell me - are Copics different / better than Promarkers?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hey hey, welcome back! It's good to see your desk looking busy :) although you best put those copics away...I'm having snaffling thoughts! After spending a small fortune on Promarkers...I did the very silly thing of playing with some copics...oh me, oh my, I want them ALL! I really should know better by now, right?!!
Can you thank Lunch Lady Jan for me, she was great last week...I have become a follower of her virgin blog...knew she couldn't avoid the temptation hehehe...but blogger won't allow me to comment tonight :(

  76. Mine is an official scrap tour, but I didn't clean the desk off after I got done working last night, so it's technically what my desk looks like for Wednesday. I'm a VERY clean scrapper.

  77. Your desk is as inspiring and exciting as ever! It's wonderful. Today I did a small sketch using india ink on used tea bag paper. I thought folk could use it as part of a collage or something for work they are doing. So I am doing a giveaway. The sketch could use some rubber stamping on top or added in somewhere. Mix it up a bit! *smiles* Norma

  78. Hi Julia. You made me chuckle with your comment! I used to have a professional waxing gismo for waxing various appendages and the sticks were for applying the hot wax. Unfortuntely I couldn't get the wax once my MIL gave up her shop so I binned the pot (darn it) but kept the sticks and the wax chips. Glad I kept the wax chips as I'd hate to see how much a kilo would cost me now!! So now you can tell Jan I am not a Doctor! Aaaaaaaargh!
