What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 103

Well interweb, I know you won't have noticed, but this is my first post of the week and its success is entirely in the hands of Blogger's technerds...I haven't been able to get into the Dashboard to write anything since Sunday, weird, huh!
It is Tuesday as I write - I'm scared that if I leave this till tomorrow morning, it won't work and then my day will be a little spoiled!

gad, my desk is a sigh - I've taken the photo leaning against the die cutting surface looking right, so you can just see my stamp shelves...if you aren't blinded by the amount of tidying to be done! Lots of admin for the card Marathon and other such nonsense crowding the space. A really beautiful kit that was part of a Birthday Bunny present last night thanks to the New Baby Mummy.

And the traditional aerial shot shows some answers to questions actually. See the two bits of timber across the back of the photo? Farthest one is the ledge of the open stable door. Near one is the 2" deep 'wall' that surrounds my desk on 3 sides...so I can employ the use of the wheels to move it out of the doorway without everything going wobbly and falling off. Man, that man of mine just about thought of everything! Also note please - the Yellow ATG monster in its customary 'ready' position. It has slimmed down! I finally worked out the adaptor for the 6mm narrow tape. Without anyone's help. Until Mr Dunnit came home at lunchtime and he had to do a tricky bit that I thought might break it - of course I can't do that bit, because then there's no-one to blame when I have to get a new one! But naturally, he didn't break it and I managed to put it all back together and it works. Bloomin' go me!! You can also see one of my FAVOURITE most cherished stamps - a scrawly text from A Stamp In the Hand. Every time I use it, it makes me happy. I've had it for about 10 years. Worth the 10 bucks that nearly made me faint at the time!
Read this if you're a PiFing WOYWWer:
So next week is the second anniversary of WOYWW. I can barely believe it. If you asked me, I'd say more than a year, simply because I was there on the first anniversary! Anyway, point is, we're going to attempt the friendly PiF. Make, or get ready, the gift you've made. When you link to WOYWW, if you're taking part in the PiF, add an asterisk * to your name. The next person on the list with an asterisk next to their name will be your recipient. Email or Comment so you can get the address, and post your PiF as soon as you can. Remember - your pressie should be ready - the idea is not to make anyone wait too long and spoil the fun of the anniversary. Remember too, this is about a small gift that you've made to post to a friend you probably haven't met. Your skill, your time and your effort....hugely appreciated. There's no such thing as not good enough - hand made with the intention of pleasing a friend is ALWAYS good enough. So no fretting.

Meanwhile, join us do for this week's WOYWW - show us what is on your Workdesk this Wednesday - upload a pic to your blog and link it here. We'll visit eventually!

  2. Gorgeous stamp shelves you have there, Julia! And I like that scrawly text stamp as well - I don't own it, but I've seen it so very often and always thought what a great stamp that one is!
    Happy WOYWW!!!

  3. Do I hear a drumroll? Reminding me that the PiF has a week to be spiffed up and ready to be photographed? It'll be done and waiting patiently for it's recipient to get on line (and online-- Lol). Having a favorite stamp that brings you joy is what its all about I think. Have a nice WOYWW...

  22. Bits of my blog haven't worked for weeks, mainly to do with followers. I've filled in a form, it always feels so much better when you've filled in a form.

Is that a notebook with flowers on at the front of your desk? If it's not stamp then it should be.

the desk isn't untidy until there is mould in the abandoned mug.

so in my book (mug measure) you are tidy.

    Sooo excited about next week,

  37. I seem to have missed the worst of the blogger trouble, but it still will not show all my photos. Still, at least I can see all of your lovely desk in the sunshine. That is a great stamp and so many chances to use that one. Thank you for all your work and sharing your space with us.

  38. Hey Julia! Today I've blogged my extremely tidy desk... it's a miracle! I see you're an old hand at ye olde ATG. I bought one and then when the tape ran out hit a bit of a problem. The tape it came with is 12mm and for me it's a bit too wide. Now I'm told that you can get acid-free 6mm and that you need an adaptor. Can I find either of these items out there? No. For some reason I feel like I'm hitting some sort of wall. Do you have any recommendations for where to get some more tape? My poor ATG is just sitting there looking lonely at the moment, and I'm going through reels and reels of SNAIL, DST, Tombow etc.

    Thanks for your help!

  41. Blogger is being a total pain. I haven't been able to post this week either, but thankfully managed my desk today. I'm guessing that's why there are only 40 comments to go with the 76 desk links. Loving the sunny shot and the scripty stamp:)

Anyway, I can't believe that its the second anniversary next week - I am so glad that I didn't miss it - I would have been genuinely devistated. It looks like I will have to read back a few of your posts to see what PiF means - and to see if I have missed anything else.

I missed last week as we are busy house hunting and time seem's to fly by at the Moment, and I am pleased to say that we have found the perfect home for our Family. Yeah, the only Problem is one day soon, yet again I must pack all my Craft room up and move, but this time we are staying put,so no moving every 2 years (thankgod)

  68. Hi Julia, my first time linking to WOYWW - I've been seeing it on other blogs and since I am an evening stamper (due to my work day away from home), I'm cutting it close to getting this in on Wednesday. congrats on getting close to the 2 year anniversary - will have to check back next week!

  69. hi Julia, Thank you for your words. I would feel awful in receiving a huge PIF, when I only have a small PIF. May make a second gift to compliment the first PIF. Looking at the fewer number of comments this week, it appears others are having problems. It is not apparently affecting all users. Here is Bloggers twitter:
    http://twitter.com/#!/Blogger

You dont have to be signed up to Twitter to read the above. It does not recognise that ai am signed in, when leaving a comment where the comment is underneath the post and not in a pop up box, it asks me to select the profile. Even if i select the google account and click on sign in, and enter all my details - it still does not recognise that i am signed in. So i have to click on name and URL, and complete this. however not all blogs have Name URL profile available.

  70. Hi Julia. This is my first time taking part in WOYWW. Hopefully this will spur me onto tidy my desk lol! You have a great sunny space to work. Em x

  71. I'm glad to read Blogger is getting sorted out. I couldn't get on one day this week. I understand only people who can log on with anonymous could leave comments. I am sorry to read about Blogger's problems, but will be glad to help you straighten your desk in time for the PIF, which I agree, should be small, yet thoughtful. After all, mine will more than likely be heading overseas.
