What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 97

97!! Week 97 people! We're nearing the second anniversary on week 104 - if you wanna know how we're celebrating, please visit this post. Gosh even I think this Wednesday has come around a bit too fast. What is it about school holidays that takes up MY time? Believe me, I'm not the one lying in bed till lunchtime! Oh, the sitting outside in the sun counts against me? Ah. That'll be it then! So today's desk is a symphony of work in progress. No really, more a work just finished. Shopkeeper Gal gave me an impossible number of really difficult themes for workshops, so I'm trying to take a laid back approach and make a sample when the idea strikes. Not fast. I have no answer as to why I'm working on top of my K & Co pad....perhaps as I'm down to the last handful of sheets I'm getting the hoarder mentality and can't let it out of my sight. You see that the blue sheet of paper lies atop a full desk tidy; stamps a plenty in there, and of course the ATG monster now conveniently lies on top. Everything else is I think, self explanatory. As in, it's such a mess you can hardly distinguish anything else!

Join the madness then, expose your desk and show us what you're working on. Doesn't have to be a craft, doesn't have to be paper. We're interested - put a photo on your blog and link it here; then we can visit. Please, no advertising - a well written, spell checked blog post and great samples will do way more for you than blatantly joining a large linky list for erm, exposure.

  1. I am liking the look of the paper you are working on!! Can see why you would want to hoard it.... Have a great day - sitting in the sun, lol!

  2. I have issues with my yellow monster too... it has a life of its own and will suddenly decide to fall over... am wondering if they are telepathically linked... your desk is looking good.. not too untidy but just the right amount of goodie... as for the papers... am with you on that one hun... tis a bummer when they stop making the best ones in the world isn't it!!

  3. But sitting in the sun is so important after the winter! Glad you finally have this wonderful pleasure.

  4. Intersting desk this week Julia... and I keep saying... make the yellow monster a stand!! It really is much easier on the wrist if you don't have to lift it from flat!!

  5. Pretty papers - I would be tempted to keep them close too! Good to see Wipso & Twiglet's tidy getting down to work.

And as for sunshine, I do believe it might be possible to work outside... (Not essential, you understand, just possible...) Hoping to take the covers off the outside table soon, and do just that.

  7. I said I was coming back last week, but didn't feel like staying up that long to greet my friends. But I'm feeling up to it this Wednesday, and I see it's almost time for the second anniversary.

Hoarding the last of the paper? I've never had that much scrapbook paper to hoard. Guess that's what happens when you buy the beautiful stuff. Have a great WOYWW, dear Julia. I'll be heading to bed shortly.

  9. Great post, made me chuckle with the hoarding paper. I had the same conversation with a friend yesterday. He said I was a hoarder for owning more than 100 pairs of shoes. I daren't tell him about my extensive collection of jeans and the fact that I have more handbags than I could ever need. He just wouldn't understand :)

  11. Warning to you - hoarding will eventually get the better of you and you will have to spend a week sorting out your room! :) I am more in a "use it up" place right now. But I did love that canvas, and love the look of your desk and despite it being a motivation killer, I do so hope the sunshine continues! Can we BBQ in the parking lot of the Scout hut? Lol!

  23. What creative loveliness - I love my ATG but have the yellow 3M one and a replica by another company which is blue and the blue one imo is easier to use - I can relate to paper hoarding but i think my mission for this year is to reduce that particular amount of stash - enjoy your Wednesday

  48. Make a holster for the Yellow Monster. One that can hang on the back of your chair when you're not wearing it. Then you can be a gun slinger! (It is a gun, after all!)

  50. Happy Wednesday! Without a shadow of doubt, I win for the tidiest desk this week....truly. Yours looks such fun Julia, and I can't wait for normal service to resume here. A good idea for a holster for the ATG Gun - wonder if Wipso and Twiglet would take that on as a challenge? Thanks so much for starting all this midweek madness! Di x

  51. Creative as usual. I hoard paper too, think we all do! Have a good week. Thanks for visiting my blog. Glad you like the paper. The filigree is my own design, I had a range of products done some years back. There may be some popping up for sale sometime (Limited stock)

  52. I have entered my (relatively tidy at the moment) desk for the first time this week, thanks x I love to look round others spaces, I think I have a {not so} secret hankering to be an estate agent! Your desk looks very interesting today, I think we all have more than a little obsession with Patterned Paper and a very real fear of cutting it most of the time too! I love my Yellow Monster though, I think it just takes some getting used to!

  53. I spent some quality time at Michael's this week after last week's perusal of everyone's blogs, and my pocketbook is much lighter!! I am collecting Japanese papers and scrap sheets for backgrounds with my photography...so inspired by what everyone is doing here!!! Paper could become my next obsession...just need more storage space...arghhh!!

  58. Hi julia,
I so want one of those guns, and I love Kay & CO Papers. You have to hoard it , don't dare let it out of your sight - far too precious - especially if it's nearly the last of the papers and you don't have any more of that design!!!!!

  64. What a fine idea, I found it over at Neelz expressions! I am so game to join in. I now feel so much better having looked at so many desks, that I am not the only messy cluttered worker! I have a huge desk and work in a 12"x24" space! The rest is all stuff I need close to hand! I am the only person I know who can loose something while sitting in one place.

  65. Easter holidays here too, but the sunshine seems to have packed its bags today!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I've got some K&Co out today too! Just embellishments, but still. I know how you feel when you get to the last few sheets of that precious pad....make it stretch as far as you can! :)

Love your terminology of "symphony of work" like it!!! Its funny how we can pile up things on our desk and work on top of stuff I do that all the time and then think - hang on gotta clear some stuff away - but then sometimes its just nice to have everything lying around you!!!
