What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? 91

Oh good grief it's a shambles. And oh good grief, I'm right in the middle of all sorts of things - which just goes to show that multi-tasking at one desk just doesn't work for me! You can't see the actual working area because I've ended up leaning on a magazine that I was flicking through, which you can't see because of the book.....
No better from this angle either! Make up your mind about creativity or downright sluttishness, I don't mind. I probably won't tidy till tomorrow either - when I need masses of tidy space to get ready for Ludgershall Crop. We're having a 12 hour crop on Saturday, which means I have to get a lot of stuff together! There's news on the ribbon storage front too, but it's taking waaaaay longer to do than I allowed. Story of my life!

Join us do - show us your work desk and what you're doing currently. That would be great. Visit as few or as many as you like - but do comment! Upload a pic to your blog and then link here. Don't panic about mis-links or wrong names, I can fix 'em!
If you're interested in the second Anniversary of WOYWW 'celebration' and would like details, go read this post; of course reminders will pop up on Wednesdays between now and then!

  7. Gosh Julia...all I ever do is stare out your wonderful windows anyway. I was probably so ADHD as a child but no one ever diagnosed such things in the dark ages. I'm so thinking what to do for your anniversary! It is such a grand idea and you have made it so easy. Have fun this w/e.

  11. I'll match your shambles and raise you disarray, disorder, and havoc. But if you visit, and check back after lunch, I promise it will be tidy, if only briefly, as I need to prep for Saturday too!

  20. Yes, but it does make your desk look a little longer! Mine isn't that long, but it's high and not easy to take 'looking down on it' shots unless I stand on something...
will mark 'reminder' in diary, if I can find it...

  25. As you said in a recent comment to me, you have the luxury of being able to lave your desk like that, so there's no problem. Enjoy your crop

  27. I need to show my husband these pictures, he doesn't get my untidiness, but if I show him your desk he might get it:)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is it me? Was up dead early to blog and blogger all over the place! You have to laugh...now I may have already commented - if so, oops!

You are hopefully proud of what you do Julia rather than in anyway apologetic for being so busy, as busy as your desk!

Every time you mention Ludgershall, I think of my Gran in Linden Close, childhood summers, fizzy pop at the Castle Club - think I'll have to come to the crop one day!

  58. Well, it's good to see a busy, creative desk with proof that lots of good things are happening. I am still on the constant quest to maximise space so mine can one day stay tidy! I'm deluding myself I know but I'm trying hard to get there!
It's great to spy on mess and boring and guilt making to spy on tidy!

  60. I've been following WOYWW since nearly the beginning and today for the first time I have decided to join in! Late to the party as usual!! I'm off to hop around the other desks now.... and then off to do some crafting and tidy mine!

    ReplyDelete
  61. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the desk deteriorates (not just yours of course!!) I often try to multi task because I fiddle with things that aren't dry if I don't have other things to do but the amount of stuff that gets out - I'm sure I don't do all of it!! Have a good crop, sounds like it will be good fun.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Twelve hours to crop sounds heavenly! Maybe I should just create my own weekend crop at home. Wonder how that would go over with my husband.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Multitasking is often an oxymoron, isn't it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It certainly looks like you have been busy.
Oh and a 12 hour crop would be welcome in my life because I missed mine last month due to the lurgy

  78. Hi Julia

Wow that is a busy desk (am I being polite!!!!) But actually when I'm working on something my desk would give yours a run for its money! I think its because the creative process makes us get out all 'n sundries whilst we are trying to make up our minds what we are going to put on our cards - and it usually is something else thats still in the cupboard! - ring any bells!

    Take care

  81. Thanks Julia and all who participate ,
You have made Wednesday my favorite blogging, creating day of the week!!
    Keep smiling and creating

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm sure creativity and mess go together, they do for me anyway, even the name of my blog says that!
My desk isn't currently too bad, but that's only because I HAD to tidy after my last project or risk dirty painting water spilling everywhere! Since I've only done a card and half a scrapbook page since then it's not had time to get too messy.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Lovin your desk- thats real 'creative disorganisation',lol. Missed last week, busy at work, and I knew I wouldn't have time to get round the desks, so I didn't want to post but not visit, but I am back.

  84. ooooooooh Julia, there are some lovely colours on your desk this week.

  97. I am sipping a gin and tonic and waiting for the video to finish loading, at which point I shall do a late WOYWW and leisurely link in - ahhh the decadence of being last over the line....

it was this laissez faire approach or post at 5am and I thought you may have a lie in and I really did not want to get up to find a) you had not opened up shop and I coudl have had 30 minutes more sleep or, b) I was still number 56...

  105. It's what a would call a crafty mess which something good will and always come's out of.
What would we all do without WOYWW I have only been a few times but it is very addictive and gives us something good to focus on for the middle of the week.
Love being a part of it and really enjoy looking around to see what everyone is up too, and see whats on your desk's today.
I'm just popping of for a nosey around.
hope you all had a great WOYWW.
    See ya next week.

  107. Well I think it's just an artistic creative workspace happening. Tidy it up and what would you have? (Although it does get a bit tricky when there are too many layers, I have to admit!)

    ReplyDelete
  108. Definitely a sign of creativity, though I don't think "shambles" applies until things are sliding off of their piles and on to the floor :-) Hey, the floor! That's a nice large clean surface...

  112. Your desk looks like a true hive of creativity. Tidy just doesn't work. A few months ago I had a box of perfectly wound ribbons on bobby pegs - it has morphed into a birds nest and has mothered a tesco bag of offspring... Been looking at it all week thinking I'll get round to that soon. You are not alone...

Thanks for stopping by my desk. As for the whole no patterned paper until I make 100 cards thing, its going well. I have 52 cards left to make and I've bought NO patterned paper, it's been hard, but I'll get there. Still not sold many though, just a few special commissions here and there!! Ughh..

  116. Oh Julia,
I can totally relate to the multi-tasking mess that we WOYWWers can get into. As I needed to make my DT piece yesterday and my desk had two incomplete cards on it (with all the mess that goes with creating!) I just moved to the kitchen table! Job done! Although I now have all of my DT stuff on my chair and those cards are still not finished. Lucky they are belated birthday cards! LOL!
