What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? 88

Mine, after making just two cards, needs sorting already!
An unintentionally clever angle means that you can see a card standing up, but you can't actually see the card. This is a good thing because it's for a workshop and it's not fair to share them before hand. In my opinion. On the left is my A5 box that houses gems, sitting on top of a piece of mulberry paper. Lordy, I'm going retro! There's a small packet of topper styled die cut D shapes under the plastic tray - to go onto a small album I'm going to put together for a friend's birthday. No really, I am. The plastic tray is for the embossing powder (I treated myself to yet another Cosmic Shimmer one today...oooh!). And then you can see the tools of me trade so to speak. No idea what I was using the Cropadile for, but the signature bunch of scissors and unwound ribbon are there, so it's my desk for sure!

Show us what you're doing then, this Wednesday - doesn't have to be crafty, we just like to see work 'desks' the world over. Photo, briefly describe, upload to your blog and link here. Over a handful of days, we'll visit. Easy. No membership, no rules (except - keep it tasteful!) and no sweating over visiting every desk - it can't always be done - just enjoy those you do visit!

  2. Gret crafty angles today! Love the colour of that mulberry paper. I love how there are so many of us hovering at 6am uk time to post first - it said I was and then I;m down at no 8 - hi girls how are you doing!!

  4. Oooh you getting all photo clever with hiding the card!! I agree though, it would be a tad unfair to show the world before the workshop. Quite tidy again too Julia... I see desk!!

  5. I keep looking t the Cropadile and asking myself, DO I need one? DO I?
    Can anyone tell me?
Will my life be made easier by having such a piece of kit?
    Answers on a postcard please!
Neat angle for the card Julia.

  8. Very clever way to disguise that card. If that had been me, I'd have to swing from the ceiling in order to get that shot.

  9. Hi Julia,

Great desk this week, love the pink cropadile. I think fairies play with my tools when I am asleep. Everthing always looks messier when I wake up.

Have a great WOYWW!, hugs Marjo

  10. Well, someone is either on a hot date or asleep, but I wanted to check in even w/o a link. I think you waited long enough - mulberry isn't retro...it's current! It is the Benjamin Moore color of the year, but they are calling it "vintage wine" isn't that a crack up? All good things...

  15. Mulberry paper?? That IS retro! Such useful stiff and it can be so pretty, too. But honestly my brain is barely awake - really hate Wednesday and the early bus school thing, but at least I'm at my desk for WOYWW. LOL! Do you find working on a dark desk a problem? I had a dark one, then got my L shaped arrangement and it's very light wood. I think it's less distracting and colours look more true on it. Anyway, just wondered, have wondered for weeks and only just getting around to asking :)

    Happy WOYWW

  25. Clever angle I sort of wish I was going to your workshop lol. Yummeeee I so love cosmic shimmer. My cropadile tends to appear on my desk when I haven't used it I reckon they appear to remind me they haven't been used for awhile lol.

  31. You see, your over head angle shots always look good. Me, mine and little me's angel shots are usually shaky and out of focus, having stood on a box that's crumbled under my weight, as my bench is a little higher than a table or desk. (and I'm 5' 2 and a bit) Still, I will practise to improve them! (or try a stronger box!)Although swinging from the chandelier maybe fun if not a little reckless! Your desk look fabulously productive as usual!

    Have a happy woyww!

  32. Great shot! And funny that you can't remember why the Crop-a-dile is out. That thing is such a contraption that you would think it would stick in your brain lugging it out onto the desk, lol!

  40. Hehe, nope thats just a regular stapler sitting on top of an electric pencil sharpener...

As for the cardboard shims for my cuttlebug....well I don't mind the plates getting ugly and cut up some. I just hate replacing them when they crack and break from all the cuts. I have had to replace 3 so far, until the shims that is. Could be the sizzix dies that do the most damage.

  51. I managed to get my cropadile on ebay very cheap and use it all the time. Just spotted your mulberry paper. I have just come across a tutorial for using this in paper tearing to create very lifelike animal pictures. Need to source myself some now to have a go.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Good idea to take the photo so it just shows the top of the card. My craft area looks worse than that and I only made a couple of cards yesterday - always need to get out loads of stuff. x

    ReplyDelete
  53. good idea about getting a shot of a card standing up. hmm, i'm going to google cropadile and see what that does. we had problems with our internet connection at work (patsy and i) today and we were acting as if it was such a big problem if we didn't get to list our posts with mr. linky! good thing my other sister's computer had a connection and we used it to link up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have a cropadile but we don't get on:( I am left handed and it feels really awkward using it. HAPPY WOYWW:)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Shall we just call you Agatha then?? I have a lime green cropodile and only use it in dire emergencies... I have these tiny, tiny hands you see, it heavy and awkward for me to use!!

  61. What a clever idea to take a picture in this angle so we can't see the card. I have to remember this - it, of course, means I have to climb onto my chair. I always love the mess on your table.

  62. Wish I could take a photo from that angle without standing on a ladder. 103
