Ah, the wheel has turned and my lovely little workroom is turning into an office. It's a temporary but daily thing....which is why you can see files and diary etc appear to be on top of crafty stuff. They are. I do the office work - one job off the pile at a time until the craft stuff reveals itself! Then I can get on properly. After the housework, phone calls and incredibly difficult to account for amount of time I spend on the computer. Emails, blah!
But look - the basket on the right is empty - except for one stamp - this has to be a one off. We'll see! The glasses case, which I've only just noticed, is Mr Dunnit's. I sure hope that the glasses aren't in there. If they are, he's down at his workshop looking everywhere for them! So now, despite the boring and potentially reputation damaging state of my desk, restore my faith in desks generally and show us yours! Upload a pic to your blog, link in here and we'll try to visit. No rules beyond trying to reciprocate the visits and don't be too in your face with the advertising!
hi Julia, long time I have not participated in WOYWW, I was a regular before October 2010. I have since just watched this on my dashboard
ReplyDeleteLooks like neat tidy desk ,not much crafting going on this week Boss!
ReplyDeleteHave fab wednesday hugs judex
Morning, Julia - hope you get the paperwork cleared, and some crafting done.
ReplyDeleteGoodness Julai, that desk looks tidy and quite officey too... I guess you get the work done faster if have to clear the office stuff to reveal the crafty stuff, but I know I would end up playing instead of working! ;)
ReplyDeleteAAhhhrrrr WORK STUFF, oh deary me, I do hope it doesn't last and your back showing a crafty mess soon :D
ReplyDeleteTidy? Well, that just won't do Ms Dunnit! Time to have some crafty fun, methinks...
ReplyDeleteswap yours for mine please? mine is a total mess! lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
HUgs x
Desks are desks me dear - and it SO beats the floor doesn't it? Looks pretty awesome to me. JULIA...HAVE you seen my glasses????
ReplyDeleteAwww i've just noticed the one solum dirty stamp sat all on it's own in the tray.. poor thing lol
ReplyDeleteCome on, dont keep us in suspenders... were his glasses in there??
ReplyDeleteEver since my OH started wearing glasses to read all I hear is
'Love..... have you seen my glasses?'
Note I am deliberately not mentioning the lack of crafty stuff showing on your desk...tsk woman
This is so unlike you Julia! Bring back the desk we all know and love! Happy WOYWW! #15
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on here Julia? Tidy desk? Office work? A new side of you...?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm #21 this week - how did that happen? Well, I actually stayed up later than usual...
Happy WOYWW to you!
Okay, it's actually 22 - Annette was faster!
ReplyDeleteHave you checked? I think you must have a fever....
ReplyDelete:)
Happy Woyww!
Mary Anne
I don't think I could do work at my craft desk I would be to tempted to push it to one side and to play with my crafting stuff - have a great Wednesday - Nicky 24
ReplyDeleteMm, Julia, I know what you mean! I had to clear mine after I took the pickie for it as had visitors for the arvo and e needed the table so there it is out multi tasking does lead to such things! as long as craft fits in at some point in time. And a big thank you to all who called at my first fun filled WOYWW,
ReplyDeleteShaz in Oz.x
Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteoh tidy desk, i hope the work books are soon removed, as Nicks said were the glasses in there?? have great day, happy WOYWW, sue,x
oh my! hope your desk is back to it's wonderful self soon :)
ReplyDeleteKarla #29
Your site has a "potential script error" and I have been unable to load my link. Finally I'm here. And believe me, I know what office stuff looks like. Thankfully, mine is in my office and not in my craft room. I guess we will both find daylight one of these days!
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia! It's ok - our desks often look like that! Don't go blaming the amount of time you spend on the computer solely on emails - except in Mr Dunnit's ear, of course!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I thought I was number one and then turned out to be #10. I am sure Mr Linky goes on overload the second your post goes live!!! We are all like little vultures just waiting to link up, I love it.
ReplyDeleteUgg office work, don't ya just hate it...lol Have a great week.
Hugs, Marjo
There is nothing worse than real life getting in the way of what you really want to be doing!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you the other day when I decided to clean my stamps - a very overdue task. I always associate stamp cleaning with you!
I'm sure normal service will resume as soon as possible. Life just has the habit of getting in the way of fun at times.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

morning Julia, well you've just reminded me to get on with the tax returns today, so thankyou :S lol
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Debbi
xx
Putting essential jobs on top of the crafting stuff, that's quite a good idea!
ReplyDelete** Kate **
I am admiring your discipline! Especially with the sticky tape and glue right there reminding me that there are things to, well, stick and glue!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia! Shame to have to mix work and play...oh banish the work!
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean about having those jobs on top of the pile!! And I love that you have a little basket for the used stamps - I just cleaned mine out yesterday ready to start again. Mind you, still haven't got around to that tax return even though I keep putting it on the desk!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear... shame about your desk and life getting in the way of crafting!!!! Hope the paperwork is soon done and you can get to use your lovely stuff...
ReplyDeleteFrankie
xx
Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteHope you get your paperwork sorted quickly and get creative soon!
I'm sure you will have time to play soon, at least I hope you will, have a great Wednesday
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will keep that little work bug well under control so that you have plenty of time for crafting! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI'm in shock Julia - just the singular stamp in the basket? Now either you are working far too hard in there or you have developed a love for cleaning your stamps!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe you've discovered a rare craft room cleaning fairy, if this is the case - post her to me for a bit, I'm in need of some help!
Love
Victoria

work....it's a necessary evil, especially when it overruns your craft space. good luck in clearing it and getting back to the nicer things in life lol.
ReplyDeletecaroline #53
I haven't joined in for a while, but couldn't resist adding what I'm up to today. It will be back to crafty stuff next week.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time joining you although I have meant to for about 6 weeks.
I work the same way you do. Start with one pile and just plow through!
Have a great rest of the week!
Karen
omg Julia, don't!! My little brain, it's all too much! You do house work on top of everything else!!! I think that's why I spend time deep in to the night trying to catch up, then I don't feel so guilty...but in the morning, and after those naughty little elves have finished playing, my craft room, house...even my car, everything!! is all messy again! Happy WOYWW!! I have a day off! (More mess in the making!)
ReplyDelete((Lyn))
It's such a bummer when you have to do things other than craft. I hated having to get up when I was asleep to go to work. That was the worse thing, now I hate anything that stops me from crafting!!
ReplyDeleteMy photo of my desk(read:dining table, desk was full already) was taken on monday. Next time I will do it on wednesday.
ReplyDeletehave a nice day!!
At least the benefit is that when you shift the office guff you've got a nice clear space for crafting! If you can't change it , accept it until you can do something about it!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Love JoZarty
Very late today after sleeping like a log, up later than ever.
Would be difficult for me if my real work was in the same desk as my crafting "work". I don't think the real work would get done! Patsy from
ReplyDeleteHeARTworks
Hi Julia.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could cope with my room being an office and a workroom. I would probably have to get some more boxes.
However my room is tiny, yours is probably of conventional size.
Have a lovely day
Sue xx
Hope you get all your work done so that you can play later.... I just so need to get organized ...physically and mentally before I loose the plot and drown in a sea of crafty bits waiting to be sorted.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday! This is my first WOYWW. Hope you got all your "work" done, and could start creating! :o)
ReplyDeleteJust one stamp ???
ReplyDeleteHope mr dunnit has found his glasses by now hun
hugs
judie xx
Lovely desk Julia, is all the mess really hidden under those books lol. hope Mr Dunnits glasses werent in the case. Joey xx
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can no longer ignore my paperwork and shall have to tackle it today; but at least I've gotten an early start. After, of course, I spend too much time on the computer doing . . . uh, other things!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was on the wrong blog!!
ReplyDeleteI share your paperwork-related frustrations... however I am a master at procrastination and have developed a marvellous system of stacking the paperwork up to one side and ignoring it!
ReplyDeleteHowever that does mean I occasionally need to blitz the paperwork stack... and am rapidly approaching that threshold again. *sigh* ;0
It's such a pain having to keep clearing away, isn't it? I hate it but get into such a pickle if I don't. If anyone has any tips on good ways to store (and access!) papers I'd love to hear them. Mine are in a large, lidded plastic box under the work table which has to be dragged out whenever I want a piece. Good job crafting is such fun - makes it worthwhile!
ReplyDeleteMy desk looked like that earlier too. I do my paperwork for work once a week and cannot craft that day until it is done. It just hangs over my head otherwise. This work thing really gets in the way of crafting sometimes, lol!
ReplyDeletexoxo Karen
Looked like I was going to be 65 but no I am 80!.
ReplyDeleteFinally got around to joining in again - have taken the photo for the previous two but not posted. Hope you get the paper work done quick and back to the crafting.
x Tricia
Morning Julia, good luck with getting your paperwork cleared so you can get some crafting done :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving this WOYWW that you have set up, although it amazes me how quickly a Wednesday comes around!!
Have a great day :)
Karen #65
Thankfully I have an home office so crafting and work never mix together. Of course that has more to do with the postage stamp size of my office more than some kind of conscience control on my part. LOL
ReplyDeleteEmpty baskets are pretty satisfying - it's the dreaded filing that holds me up every time!!!
ReplyDeleteSince, I'm unemployed my crafting doesn't get in the way of anything! Only a few more months and I can say "I'm Retired"!
ReplyDeleteI too know the feeling of paperwork getting in the way of crafting and yes unless I literally put it in the way it would get ignored. Hope normal service is resumed on your desk soon
ReplyDeleteAh....an empty stamp basket. You must be overjoyed! I'll be back to sharing my desk next week - nothing exciting going on at mine this week as I was on vacation and haven't returned to the craft room since getting back.
ReplyDeleteMy in tray is the top of my sewing machine so if I want to use it I have to sort it.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, Oh dear, I seem to be getting in later each week, must do better next week Must say I think it is clever to incentivise yourself, put the office work on top of the crafty stuff, that way there's a reward to look forward to. And, what is that about housework - you find time to do housework :) Elizabeth #78
ReplyDeleteSo you do work at home????? Terrinble goings on! Home is for crafting, work is for blogging and well....thats it!!! Ha, ha....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cardarian
What! No crafting!! But sometimes you just have to do the paperwork too!
ReplyDeleteHi there, first time linking today, been watching for a while but thought I'd join in today!
ReplyDeleteoh no! get rid of that "work" and get that desk back to a crafting station. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy desk also is an office desk too some days! Hope you get back to your crafting soon!
ReplyDeleteLavinia

W**k?? Please don't use nasty four letter words round here! Can't believe there's no crafting going on either, and I absolutely can't believe the stamp basket is empty, save for one lonely, little stamp!
ReplyDeleteHugs

I'm sure if we look hard enough we can see some fab crafty goodies hiding there....
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful WOYWW and manage to fit some crafting in some time!

Goodness...considering all that you have going on, I'd say your desk is fairly neat!!
ReplyDeleteKnow how you feel...at least when it's crafty it's inspirig! But yours isn't bad at all! I have layers upon layers piled up! Oh well, that's what happens when the family is down and out for a week!
ReplyDeleteHave a WOW of a week!

What is it about men and their glasses, and the car keys, and their wallet and ......? Do I need to go on? Your desk looks so beautifully tidy and inviting.
ReplyDeleteLovely workspace, shame about the paper work though! My workspace a total disaster area but seem to work better that way!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to next Wednesday :~)
Jinny
I think the empty basket was the first thing I noticed...hope you get through your work soon and get your desk looking crafty again! Happy WOYWW!! :D
ReplyDelete♥Tracey♥...ƸӜƷ
You and me both have tidy desks this week. We are letting the team down girl! Get crafting.
ReplyDeleteTertia 110
Sorry not been over in a loooong time, Internet problems and life just keep getting in the way. Take care Lynne x
ReplyDeleteJulia? Are you sick? Tidy? What does that word mean? It just isn't you! It's not becoming! hee hee
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Wednesday and a fabulous week!
Hugs!
Deb
Running really late today, I actually forgot it was Wednesday when I got home, although I spent all morning at work reminding myself.
ReplyDeleteMy desk is covered with work stuff too - I'm too ashamed to show it, but there are some finished tags on show. I proise to play properly next week.

I also work from home and each day when I get my accounts out, I have to find a space through all the craft. I have a moveable table, a craft table and a table for computer etc, I always say that the moveable table should be cleared at all times so I can work or sew etc, mmmmmmmm that didn't last long lol.
ReplyDeleteSo many of you asked what "Soonflower" was from my last wed post. I posted all the details on my blog so you can try it!
ReplyDeleteYou use your design and Spoonflower prints it onto fabric.
Very good quality and LOTS of design options.
Sorry I didn't post it before !!!!
Hope you can get all of your work done quickly and get all creative again! Thanks again for hosting woyww, have a great week! Tracey x
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. I have been following your blog for ages especially the WOYWW and have had fun going bloghopping looking at other people's blogs but never able to join in. On Monday I joined the Blogging World and tonight is my first time as a Newbie on your site! Thanks for giving me the incentive to join you all.
ReplyDeleteSam
I do so look forward to you hosting us each week on WOYWW, Julia.
ReplyDeleteIt provides me with a healthy dose of creative ideas and an opportunity to connect with others. Many thanks for this wonderful cyber brainchild!
Hugs
I remembered there wsa a thing I just had to do for Morti so here I am...
ReplyDeleteDx
Lots of desks on view this week but it was a surprise to see 'work' stuff on yours **tsk** shouldn't be allowed LOL
ReplyDeleteToni :o)
every week there are more........ great fun. xxxx
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad for this weekly incentive to take and post a photo of my workspace. Maybe next week I'll have some art to show!!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I jumped in this week after finding you via a participant of my New52 project. It was a nice little exercise on a day when I wasn't feeling all that inspired to blog. :)
ReplyDeleteA very business like desk Julia, LOL. I think you need some craft time. Sorry I have not joined in for a couple of weeks, my dad is seriously ill in hospital. Take care, Tracy Evans x
ReplyDeleteWorking through the work to the crafts is probably one of the best incentives I can think of :D.
ReplyDelete#143
Hi Julia,
ReplyDeletethanks, i love that shot! My husband took the shot of the eiffel tower, (he's a great photographer) then we had it printed on canvas :)
It must be the effect of a new start in January, my desk is looking quite organised at the minute too! Although that evidence'll have to wait until next week lol
ReplyDeleteHow good you are Julia to work through the paperwork etc first - and well done for only having one stamp in that box - way to go!! x
ReplyDeletebin the files just craft, life's too short
ReplyDeleteyou have to draw a line between craft space and office space. it's sacrilegious to combine them. we have to preserve our sacred spaces.
ReplyDeleteHurry, Julia! Your crafty stuff is being suffocated under all that office stuff! lol I'm sure it's waiting patiently, it can't breathe after all....
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by...
*smile*

I like to go through and look to see what everyone is working on---or not!
ReplyDeleteWould love for my stuff to be cleared off the workdesk - Just so I can find what I'm looking for! Hoping to have some craft time tonight. If I can get the kiddos to bed!
ReplyDeleteI get the 'one stamp in the basket' reference now! I was reading through some of your older posts...what a great idea! I just pile them on the desk, then on the floor, if they're in the way...your way seems much more tidy! :)
ReplyDeleteI think your reputation is pretty well intact, Julia. After all, you host this wonderful site for us each week! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWow, your desk looks like one that belongs in a showroom compared to mine!!! Not only that but at least yours is adult sized!! I have had to resort to using my daughters little table at the moment due to lack of space. My craft room is having an overhaul. :-)
ReplyDeleteJulia - I feel your pain when it comes to files and a diary sprawled all atop your craft stash - it makes me die a little inside!! Yuck.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the look around and the hosting again - you are good aren't you?!
Lou Mac. xo
P.S I have a blog award awaiting your arrival at my blog. xo
I do hope Mr Dunnit didn't injure himself in the workshop without his glasses!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, Commiserations. I am in my real life office at the moment (so I'd better do some real work). I would rather be at home in my pretend studio (or kitchen workbench). I'm not very computer literate. Not sure whether I have linked up correctly? I would like to put your WOYWW logo on my blog but I don't have a clue how.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteplease accept my apologies for being a bad blogger. I thought I'd left a comment the other day and i hadn't - that's because my memory is pants!!!
I hope next time those scary looking serious books aren't on your desk - and that you have a load of dirty stamps in your basket.
sending you hugs (and comiserations)LOL
Paula x x x
What! The stamp basket is nearly empty...what IS going on? Quick get some stamping done so you can fill up the basket again! Throw the work stuff on the floor!
ReplyDeleteSusan xxox #19
very tidy this week, yes indeedy!
ReplyDeleteAlison x
Hi Julia, just joined and ready to do my first woyww!
ReplyDeleteWhew...I finally did it and posted my work desk. It looks a mess...but I honestly know where everything is...honest! This was fun. I wonder what next Wednesday will bring. Now I'm off to look at all the others!
ReplyDelete
