What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 80

Wow. A whole lot of everything this morning; in fact as you can see, I couldn't even find a forgiving camera angle to help me out!

Last night's glass of orange juice now looks very seedy and I think despite the industry, there's a general look of 'all over the place'-ness. Amazing really, because when I sat down to make up the baskets and generally finish a couple things off, the mat and the desk were clear! Ah well, proof if you need it that you don't wanna sit next to me at a crop!

You can see a set of dies that I borrowed from
Shopkeeper Gal , a jar of glitter
flakes from the cosmic shimmer range - am currently in love with the embossing powders from that range so thought I'd have a play with these too -after all, I've had 'em awhile! Traces
of foil from a workshop and a further card making session, and note the sophisticated way I protect everything when I want to spray shimmer mists - just cover it all in paper! Recycled paper and draught sheets from work though, so not as wasteful as it sounds!

So, there's no shame, bare all for us and share your desk..no doubt the fascination for me is seeing what everyone's making, and where you do the making. Join us do - photo your desk, upload to your blog and link here. We'll visit. Slowly probably, but hey, it's what the days between Wednesdays are for!

  3. Sounds like you are in for a lot of playing this week. I have never had luck with embossing powders. Maybe you could give me some pointers sometime. I think it's a brilliant way to protect things from shimmer mists. Then you have shimmery paper scraps to use and stamp on.

  4. Heee heee Julia! I actually mentioned you wouldn't mind my messy desk cos green mat was still showing... and I pop on here and there is no mat showing at all!!

  5. I think I'll have to get out the old shimmer mists. I have a flattened chunk of old cardboard box which I store shoved between my desk and the wall which comes out to be used as a spray guard for messy stuff like that!
I couldn't zoom in on your second picture, so it was a case of screwed up eyes once more to try to spot everything!
    Have a good day!

  14. I like a fine shimmery blingy desk, and you certainly have it. Very sadly, when I woke up at 6.30 this morning, my first thought was to go and blog for WOYWW. I made it to the first 80 desks last week, and am hoping to do better this week.

  17. Ah, we love your 'all over the place'-ness. Proof positive that you are not all Queen (although you are to us), but have some of the working girl in you as well. Can I say that? Gosh, I'm such a Yank sometimes.

  18. Fab creative desk Julia! I sometimes get carried away when crafting and forget everything about the protecting thing when misting, so now I have a shimmery wall and desk!

  19. Lots of good things going on there. I'm never very successful with the shimmer mist. It seems to blob in one spot.

  20. Woo almost as untidy as mine, but not quite tee hee!!!! But looking really interesting and yummy.... Makes me want to play. An old, slim box is useful for spraying inside, but why do I still get overspray!!!!??? Have a great week, honey

  22. Julia, there's certainly lots and lots going on on that desk of yours. I like having a play with shimmer mists as well using the Cosmic Shimmer powders but have to admit I prefer using them in the Ranger spritzer bottle. Best wishes, Kym xxx (WOYWW No 36)

  23. There's hope for me yet! It's no wonder as every is so busy just now so we'll let you off as long as you are creating loveliness elsewhere whilst making mayhem here.

  24. I linked at 6.02 but couldn't force my eyes open enough to read your post properly, or comment then! Now I am in the office I can study it properly and as usual find a desk full of wonderful things. My mists and sprays tend to blobs and if I remember I lay out some newspaper but more often than not (!) I just trust to luck - curse - start again... you get the picture. Have a great day.

  31. Looking at your desk with your ATG prominently displayed I was thinking that you should take it with you wherever you travel. Then you could take pictures of you with it in touristy spots! You know, you and your ATG at the Tower of London or the Eiffel Tower. Maybe I'm sleep deprived!

    Have a good one.

  35. wow fairy heaven!! glimmer mist and GLITTER flakes!!!
    So loving your desk.
I'm so mean with my spray - i put whatever needs "misting' in the lid of a plastic container- spritz away and them mop up the left overs with paper flowers. I've even been known to let it dry, then rehydrate it with a little spray of water!

  36. I think I have three cups of cold tea/coffee amongst my crafty mess this week. I'm beginning to really want one of those ATG's...but still haven't actually seen one in real life, (I don't get out much) And there's so much yummy stuff on your desk, the elves were nicer to you! They didn't leave any glimmer glitter on my bench...just something floating in my cold tea
Happy WOYWW! Lyn....I'm sooo late for work...aw...never mind!

  41. big fan on cosmic shimmer emboss powders myself Julia, love the bright colours they create on dark card, can do some really unusual stuff with them.

Good to see your desk as it is, mine feels far too tidy and is need of a serious craft session to restore it to it's usual cluttered state!

  44. Hi Julia,
I like to spread out too. At the moment my 'desk' is spread over the floor, on my sewing table and in front of the computer. My hubby walks into the study (which we 'share' and I use that term loosely) shakes his head and retreats. Ha ha ha...all mine!

  48. Hi Julia - lots of interesting stuff on your desk as usual - it's like looking at one of those jigsaws, you know the ones I mean with lots of detail on them :) I've got my own version of a spray booth - a cardboard box something was delivered in. It has sides that are about 2.5 ins deep so does the job perfectly. Elizabeth #71

  64. Good idea to protect your stash with paper when using spray mists! I usually end up wasting time putting things away after each task is done. Always tidying and never feeling it's tidy enough

  65. Lots and lots happening on your day I love seeing how different everyone is on they they work - I would have to tidy before I sit and craft lots - guess I am in the slightly OCD group of crafters xx Nicky ~ 15

  75. I can't help but feel a sense of some big event taking place soon.. in the form of.. ahh, who knows, can't be anything of much importance, can it? Hehe.

Looks like you've got a lot going on this week, and hey, if your sophisticated way of protecting your stuff works, don't you stop!!

Thanks for dropping by and having a nosey at my desk. As for the PMs, I have a severe addiction that I'm finding gradually harder to control! Yikes. Its because of this colour chart business I've got, I now NEED to fill in all of the spaces before I will ever be fully saitsfied with the amount I've got! LOL.

As for writing a review on the Sew Easy tool, not a problem, infact I gladly will. I'll do it sometime this week and will link the post in with my next WOYWW post, so all you interested people can drop by!! Hope this helps. :)
