Alas and alack, this many not apply to the desk tomorrow....the missing focal point is my beloved glass mat. And that's because I took it to the crop on Saturday and haven't quite unpacked yet. Oops. You can of course see the ATG monster as usual, ElElJan says it's a bit like Where's Wally - it's always there somewhere! And talking of ATG..thanks to Mary Anne who sagely pointed out the directional arrows embossed into the inside of the case - I changed the sticky roll without having to photo the thing first - never noticed the diagram arrows!!
And to answer an oft asked question - no, I don't stand on a chair to take these WOYWW pics - I don't put myself out like that very often believe me. But those of you who know me will recall my slender, tall frame which is perfect for hovering over tables at dizzying heights. And those of you that have really met me wil understand that double checking I haven't got my boobs in the edge of the shot involves some contortionist skills. Make of that what you like! Happy Wednesday to you. And if you've time, do track bac a post and visit the Amber Ink blog hop - you'll be wow'ed and WOYWWed!
Show us your desk then, in all it's December glory and/or gore...we want to know how prepared and how panicked you are. You can tell my state of mind. Share yours - upload a pic to your blog, link here and let us visit. No other particular rules - be nice though - reciprocal visits are de riguer!
I don't believe it... can it be true? Am I number one on the list or will it all change when I press send or soemthing? LOL
ReplyDeleteI did wonder if perhaps you had broken the glass cutting mat, glad to hear it is only a case of not unpacking yet! I tackled the iron mountain today and I won!! Yahoooo... now if I can persuade everyone not to put anything in the dirtly laundry basket I may actually stay up to date for more than a day!!
Poop... too good to be true... number five it is!
ReplyDeleteAh, those tall willowy frames do come in handy! Such a wonderful bird's eye view! It let's me see pie shaped things and signs of chocolate! It is late here, so you can tell what is on my mind!
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing such a inKredible job in everything you do. I'm sure that your ironing will be impeccable as well. Ironing? Actually it must be a British term.
Morning hun,
ReplyDeleteNo not prepared in the slightest ,i have most presents to buy although whilst been ill on friday did order couple off line!Which was nice no que ,no pushing or toe treding!
So think with these cold temps -9 here this morning thick fog i shall this year resort to online bargains boy is there some sales...lol
Have great wednesday when your done there give us a bell and i'll drop my ironing round..lol
hugs judex
Sorry voodoo - Amber get's mad at me for my piggishness and I'm sorry, but it's just that i want to get to bed ;-(! I'll try harder next time :O
ReplyDeleteIt is with great relief that I read that you were't in fact teetering on your craft stool to take this dizzying pictures. All looks busy, but I'm afraid I couldn't do anything without my glass mat... it's actually what determines the extent of my working area... but in fact I only usually have about 6sq ins of it clear to work on.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Chrissie
Organised? No, you will read my confession on my post! Love your heart shaped mug! Have fun with the ironing - this is live at just gone 6am uk time and please don't ask why I have started putting the computer on to link up before I go to work when I get there soon after 7 anyway.... this is what WOYWW does to you! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteSigh, your desk just isn't the same without your glass mat!
ReplyDeleteWow, now I know why I can't create cards. I need a glass mat, bigger boobs, and an ATG. Maybe I'll ask Santa for one or all at Christmas! So, what's in the heart? It looks like tea! Happy happy, and get some rest before tackling that ironing.
ReplyDeleteLove the wheres wally ATG - oh to have a tall willowy frame as you can tell by my photos short and dumpy is my style. Quite organised for Christmas just got card inserts and wrapping to do! Have a great Wednesday x
ReplyDeleteYes I too lack the boobs tall slender frame...nothing like bragging...alas I have to stand on a chair with my 5.2 slightly sagging ageing...boobless frame...one day will see everyone in A & E...fab desk hun...Merry Xmas to all....fancy doing my ironing too?
ReplyDeleteSarah - Stressed Stamper #17
Well, I am tall - not slender though - wish I was more like you (ie willowy). Ironing - you can't mean clothes ironing - you mean encaustic? Or is a resist technique?
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, Lots going on your desk today. See the H20's are out. Love your little heart water container - presume thats for the water. Hope you get all your ironing done and enjoy your day off. Big Hugs. Jo.xxx *22*
ReplyDeleteGood morning, early morning for me too.... but in work at 6 as hubby had to go in early arrrhhhh so stuck here till 5 this evening, lovely bits on your desk, hope you tackle that ironing! Jo xxx
ReplyDeleteIroning .... I think I heard about that one in a fairy tale.
ReplyDeleteBlog candy over at my place today.
Hugs you willowy thing you.
Ironing?..so is this at 6.43 in the morning? yea right! I don't believe you, I think you are still in bed sleeping! lol Desk is great and full of shapes..heart water, triangle tin..square pot and Ican't see those boob shapes rofl.. know exactly what you mean!
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing..
hugs x
It can't possibly be Wednesday again! Sorry - no WOYWW post today, but if you pop over, you'll find JYC udates. I will try to visit as many as possible
ReplyDeleteI stopped ironing a decade ago. Pay a lovely lady to do that and she gives me free time to scrap. Also discovered a great space (ironing table) at just the right height to add scraps . I do love that heart shaped mug.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a glass mat and an ATG? I think those are Perfect Pearls in the heart tin. Happy WOYWW #11
ReplyDeleteJulia, one very busy desk again. Love the heart cup by the way. No, I'm not ready for Christmas as going through some upheaval at the moment and Christmas is the last thing I'm thinking about. Will have to get onto it very soon. Thanks for sharing your workspace this week and giving us another view of that massive ATG. Best wishes, Kym xxx (WOYWW No 34)
ReplyDeleteMorning! No Australian acrobatics from me today! Will pop back laters!
ReplyDeleteIroning??????? Not my fav job at any time of the day. If you do mine then I will tidy up your desk and unpack all your bags :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
A x
Bet you end up leaving the ironing and doing something more fun instead...happy WOYWW 79!
ReplyDeleteAlison x
please come round and do mine whilst I am at work - we are about to run out of clothes to wear - when you are finished with my ironing and you have done our dinner and have given time and attention to my loved ones - we could do some craft together - say at about 1am?
ReplyDeleteDx
PS i knew Dunnit was a 'nom de plume' - with your ' de rigour '- posh bird or what? have answered your query today en blogg....so many emails now with separated names and addressees I feel a bit Sherlocky
ReplyDeleteDxxxxxxxx
I think the tin contains H2Os so don't get confused and pop one in as a chocky! I get so happy when I see the JCB monster of the crafting world lurking as it shows how you have come to love it, as I do mine. I hope the heart shaped dish isn't one of those expensive Le Creuset mini casseroles getting relegated as a paint water pot!!
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks much like mine and I find each week there runs a trend of messes or tidy ups amongst many desks.
Relax, have fun, stay warm....
Hugs JoZarty x
ooh looking suspiciously neat! Disappointed to to see a mass of mess!!!
ReplyDeleteOnly joking! looks fab!!
happy work desk wednesday
xxxfairy leonie (45!!!)
Glad you weren't balancing on a chair or something like LindaE a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteForget the ironing - unpack the glass mat.
Toni :o)
Hi again, just letting you know that I too took my photos (with my tall slender frame, fighting to keep my boobs out of the picture). Do you find the ATG heavy? Looks it. I am still working the double sided tape by hand.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I'm not sure we even have an iron in the house. I think ours is lost in the garage somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time joining in. Looks like loads of fun and no pressure!
Your desk looks wonderfully busy!
Hugs, Marjo #45
I'm here, late but here! I've never managed to get on with a glass cutting board,a bit like nails and chalk boards...although, I don't really have nails. As is the same with taking over head pictures, being ashort-ass there's usually a shadow, the camera strap or my finger showing...and of course the picture's nearly always blurred! Love the heart shaped mug (?) I'd probably dribble out of that!
ReplyDelete((Lyn) Number...was 54...but it won't be now!
Ironing - eeek! All those bits and piece just look so intriguing :) Love the mug! I always manage to get my head between the light and the table when I try to take these piccies!
ReplyDeleteCould some one tell Moy yin, that I haven't been able to get into her blog for well over 6 weeks now, it just goes dark and there's no where to click!
ReplyDelete(Lyn)
Not tried the glass mats yet...are they really that much better than the self heal? What makes them so good?
ReplyDeleteSounds like you need help from the ironing fairy - shall I pop over when I have finished Wipso's??
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I could cope with a glass mat...doesn't it have the potential to make the screechy sound like fingers down a board? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Julia!! I still love your desk.. great work going on there..
ReplyDeleteHugs Norma jean
I'm afraid it would have to be a chair for me to get a bird's eye view, and then avoiding getting knees or feet in the shot.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Morning Julia, Ironing!! Gave up a long time ago, only when needs must. Not prepared in the slightest for Christmas, just managed to catch last post to Australia with Son's pressy and the rest of the family coming to stay, hopefully it will all fall into place, it usually does. Great desk. Carolxx
ReplyDeleteMorning! What is this ironing you all speak of? I'm not familiar! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat desk as always, Julia! I hope you manage to have a catch up, I actualy gave myself the morning off yesterday and only got about half of the stuff I had planned done. x
Becky (The Girlie Blogger #66)
Hi Julia I thought the chocs on your desk were to bribe the ironing fairy?? hehe.. Keep warm.xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteI managed to play this week. and at #67.
that is a pretty little project in the middle of your desk.
we will all be checking pictures closely from now on to perhaps spot the boob, you do realize that don't you? =)
ReplyDeleteOh to be thin and tall, I used to think I was tall, then discovered it was all in the mind.
ReplyDeleteYour ATG seems to be a major addition to your desk. I don't have one, can I live without one do you think ??
Have a lovely day
Sue xx 70
Hiya Julia
ReplyDeletelovely piccy! love the heart mug, is it a mug lol.

ReplyDeleteI must admit your overhead desk shots make me feel slightly giddy...not good with heights!! I have two irons in my house..and the craft one definately gets used the most!! Happy WOYWW...Esther xx (hhmm...sorry for previous deletion...trigger happy mouse fingers....)
ReplyDeleteSorry but a morning off to do ironing - never do the stuff. Taught my boys early on - if they bought anything that needed ironing (or dry cleaning / hand wshing) then that was their responsibility , not mine. Love WOYWW - great institution.
ReplyDeletex Tricia (78) possibly
Good Morning from across the pond! I see we both had to do the same thing this week - take our photo a wee bit earlier than usual!
ReplyDeleteIroning! That's as bad as swearing at us first thing! I did wonder about how you take your photos - now all is revealed! :-)
ReplyDeleteIroning - I think I gave it up some years ago. It must be bad, because even OH only asks me to iron a shirt once a year or so. Good to see another busy desk.
ReplyDeleteOff to start snooping - managed a full house a fortnight ago, but was felled by flu last week - hoping to do better this time.
Bernie #81
Hi Julia... still running like heck to keep up !!!!
ReplyDeleteFrankie
xx
hmm how many twinkling H2Os do you cram into that box? short and sweet this week, still in panic mode trying to get all the requisite cards finished in time to post.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
caroline ~86
Hi Julia, a bit late with my comment, had to rush to work after posting and the bus was late of course... ah well, small troubles. Photographing desks without revealing any body parts is trickier, my feet seems take part sometimes!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Maarit #34
seems to take part sounds better :)
ReplyDeleteOh to be tall and slender...I'm short and slender and yes, I do need need a chair to stand on!
ReplyDeleteYour pics always look good with a great view of your desk! I normally get my feet on my pics & have to crop them off! Sometimes other bits of body apperar on pics too, but lets not dwell on that here!....Hope your well & warm!
ReplyDeleteLavinia
A glass mat, hmmm I would for sure break that. Ha ha! I love my ATG! It's one of those pink ones, they're selling here in the States, are they selling those there? Does it count as a "real one"? :-) Is that a heart shaped coffee mug??? Happy WOYWW! #90
ReplyDeleteIroning! Can't be doing with that. More important things to do. I'm moving up the pecking order too. In at no.87 today. Not sure if thats cos not so many are playing or I have my act together. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteWell when I pressed the button it said 87. Just checked and I'm 91. Ageing by the minute!!
ReplyDeleteIroning? Always hated it and spent many nights up late after everyone else in bed. But, always loved the pretty sight of it all haning there and looking so great. I at some point told everyone no more clothes to be bought that had to be ironed or since you are old enough you ay iron them yourselves. Your desk shows you have been very busy and your posts show some of those beautifuly creations. Thanks for all you do Julia. Think I'm #92. Talk about short term memory!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThat picture makes me feel dizzy!
ReplyDeleteAli
You are too funny. Love that your ATG is always there. I have to take angled shots as I am NOT tall and boobless, but rather short and round.
ReplyDeleteWell Julia, I've got the boobs but I'm vertically challenged so if I wanted a shot like yours I would have to stand on a chair. Is that chocolates I see before me? As usual your workdesk is worth a snoop. Elizabeth #95
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of your post today. WOYWW is always worth the time to check in. Now back to that workdesk.
ReplyDeleteNice mess again, and I even spotted your glasses. I like those "chesse wedges" as storage.
ReplyDeletewhat are those fun little goodies in the pie tin?? I must say I wish I could find my reading glasses on my work table as easily as I spied yours next to your scissors!!!
ReplyDeleteToday I am showing you why I am NOT showing you my work desk. I finished decorating our main christmas tree!!!!!!!
Enjoy 35 years of ornaments!!!
What? No glass mat? TISK, TISK!
ReplyDeleteStill fun to stop and Gander for a bit! Hugs!
Hi Julia
ReplyDeletenow i could have popped my ironong round! i will be playing where the ATG now when i hoping around, happy WOYWW, sue,x
Ironing, what's all that about then!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou always give me a laugh when I pop by Julia. I have visions now of you standing taking your photo with your chest pulled in, hilarious!!!
Hugs Lisa (106)
Hi Julia, the first thing I noticed on your desk was the heart mug. I have one of those, I collect all things hearts so had to have one LOL. You did start your ironing early this morning. Perhaps that's what I should do make an early start then it's out of the way, mmmmmm, I'll think a little harder about that one. Tracy Evans (no 3).
ReplyDeleteAnd everyone thinks photography is easy...
ReplyDeleteMy ATG gun is a bit camera shy but I wouldn't be without it. I got fed up with bits falling embarrassingly off birthday cards!
Before I read your post, just looking at your photo I thought you must have stood on a chair to take your photo. I'm only just over 5" and would love to be taller. I've never got my boobs in a shot, although my belly has featured a few times!!
ReplyDelete(108 this week!)
thanks for the crafty snoop julia ...what a busy desk...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteHad to blog and run this morning, only just getting some commenting time.
ReplyDeleteLol at the boobs in shot, I've found i lean forward to look at my pooter screen and manage to type with mine - how inopportune!!
** Kate **
Better late than never, I had help today, check out my page to see my little helpers
ReplyDeletenot unpacked since your crop thats so unlike you :-) Hugs Pam x
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so late. I have a glass cutting mat I will have had it 2 years in January, I haven't used it yet, keep cleaning it and thinking I must start using this but stick to the old blue one. I only iron when there is something on the tele I want to watch but there never is anything on I want to watch.
ReplyDeleteKath x
Hi Julia - thanks so much for another opportunity to join in - particularly appreciated when you don't have time to enter challenges but want to share your passion with others. Thanks again, love to all.
ReplyDeleteChris x
Yay!
ReplyDeleteI made it in on Wednesday - yippee! This is such a fun blog hop - thanks for doing this.
Peace,

Love those wedge shaped tins and a heart shaped mug today, you're just full of surprises! I actually think i forgot to comment last week, perhaps i should comment twice today to make up!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Great shot! I love peeking at your desk, there is always so many things to look at! I am very late today but it IS still Wednesday here in Canada.
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW,Julia! i almost didn't get to play and felt like someone who couldn't do her homework for school! i wouldn't call a morning for doing a mountain of ironing an award but i guess it's better than having a mountain range to deal with.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit a couple of weeks now. Have always been so tired when I come home in the evenings. It is amazing though how I've gotten into the habit of posting every Wednesday! My week is not complete without it! Patsy from
ReplyDeleteHeARTworks
I got here in the end. But then again my week wouldn't be complete without seeing what's on your desk
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteYou don't get to tease me with your ATG gun any longer! I ordered myself a pink one today for my hubby and kids to wrap up for Christmas. Woo Hoo!
Susan xxox #13
Hi Julia! My pic is from yesterday-evening, when I came home! And posted today, on thursday... but I´m with, on number 120 :)
ReplyDeleteOh look, as ever i totally forgot to comment.. its becoming quite a habbit!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well Julia, and not in too much of a christmas muddle like me, i'm sooo not prepared lol
I don't care for ironing at all, though I'm finding I'll have to suck it up and do it if I'm going to finish my quilt (per my neighbor's instructions). I love your desk, like those tins... it looks like a fun place to craft! Thanks for being the hostess with the mostest.
ReplyDelete
