Look, nearly all glitter!

Aha - that Dunnit woman, she flits from extreme to pole and no doubt. One minute she's moaning about being sick of Christmas and glitter and the next - well just look at this! I couldn't resist it. The weather was dead flat cold and dull, the Christmas shopping was erm, shelved because I had a rather severe attack of humbug and so I played a little. In my amazing capacity as part of Amber Ink's th(ink) Tank I had preview access to some lovely stuff and this card is a result. Sure is a result - all images are digital, including the background paper.! I seem to have managed some of the basics of digi and I'm not a bit smug about it. More 'terrified of the shape of things to come' is a better description! Anyway, I bring you sparkly kissing fish for your sparkly delight -I used Spin Pin-Black Tie for the paper and digi stamps Best Fishes. Check out what others are doing by following the link from my fab pink badge!
The use of all this glitter has naturally affected my family, by virtue of central heating, static and breathing. They look even more gorgeous when seen through glitter tinted eyelashes. Miss Dunnit is amused by my surprise at quite how many colours of glitter that I have. She amused is good - because I was shocked! I don't keep them all together (for reasons of I don't know tinged with madness), and so when I amassed them to give me colour choices, there were loads - pots, tubs, phials and bags, some decanted into wider mouth pots, some mixed from careless spills (to form a kaleidoscope colour, on purpose, of course). They cheered me up, they floated around the room and sparkled everywhere - and still do. And then I tidied them away, back into several places. Unlike me I know - perhaps it was the need not t be totally covered in the stuff before I made something else. Perhaps it was because the glittery colours cheered me up. Perhaps it was because I was ashamed of the number in the collection. I dunno. Share your shame, what's your glitter collection like? And are you like me, one of the people that thinks you 'don't do' glitter? It must be genetic, because I really thought I didn't!

  1. Great card, Julia! Love the glitteriness of it all -- yes, I have lots too, though I tend to use stickles more often to avoid all the leftovers that seem to scatter all through the house!

i have a couple (stickles) glittered fishies just waiting for my next project!

  2. I have about 3 and only because the GA girls sent them to me and so I HAVE to play with them by LAW! I am not a glitter person but only because Craig has glitter radar and wont usually let it over the doorstep. Glitter glue he doesn't mind - loose glitter and he goes all a tizz.

I loves your kissy fishes I does!

  3. Smashing glittery card:0)
Nah! I don't do very much glitter now. Had a brief fling a couple of years ago and then they went back in the cupboard, couldn't really get my head around the mess and I'm a big messy crafter. You gave me another laugh tonight, thanks I'm glad I dropped by. Have a lovely evening:0) xx

  4. I LOVE glitter - mainly use it at Christmas and no other time of year. I have lots. Now, tell me, that was a surprise wasn't it - I have tubs that I have decanted bags into, (the stacking ones from Lakeland are good, different coloured lids - nearly co-ordinated for the colour of glitter inside) and little tubes and pots and phials that don't get used much because it's too hard to get back into (even with creased paper) and yes, mine is stored all over the place too. Carpet is looking pretty though at the moment!

Love your fishes, sorry, should have said first.

  6. I have a few sets of glitter but seldom use them because when I do, I generally turn something nice & plain into a complete mess and cover the desk, me & the room in glitter. I then sit there wondering why I thought glitter was a good idea in the first place!

I think I am better suited to Stickles.

So there, that's my humbug moment. I think glitter just winds me up!

  12. I love your card - yep I am definitly a glitter person - I probably have all the colors you can imagine - but I must admit I don't use them as often as I could - its because I am so messy with glitter - it is everywhere when I use it!

  13. I have a box full of packets of glitter that were a 'must have' from a trip to Ally Pally (never used them) I much prefer stickles - less mess to clear up.

  16. Love the card and am impressed with your power over digi. I have perhaps ten colours of glitter but usually ruin a good card when I use it, so it's seldom sees the light of day. Also Hubby tends to turn the air blue trying to hoover up glitter from all over the house, although I swear I only ever used it in the Lounge ;)

  18. I don't do glitter! Just a bit at Christmas time - then it makes me wonder why I don't do it the rest of the year.
Lovely card - and I too am thinking about what kind of world we are going to be living in with digi taking over from rubber.
