What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 66

Or, as a subtitle you could call it - 'A Stunning Return to Form'! My word, you gotta admit that it's a miracle that the actual cutting mat area is clear. Actually, it's because the angle of the photo doesn't show you the stuff pushed back against the window. Because you can't see it yet, it's a mix of workshop samples to come and stuff for the Card Marathon. Hmm, so let me entertain you some other way....see at the back behind the ATG monster? Papers. Yep, actually only two sheets, one a sketch for a crop challenge and the other that you can just see is a sketch from Miss Kathy who's really kindly let me use it for a 1 Sketch 4 Cards workshop. I'll show those off when Kathy's had a chance to be alarmed by my erm,' interpretation' of her work! But more entertainment to come -lift those two randomly slung pieces of paper and BEHOLD! :
my used-and-waiting-to
-be-cleaned-stamp-basket is empty! Ta Na! Note the date people, this could potentially signal a new leaf turning. Truly I got sick of em, just sitting there waiting for me. So I gave 'em a cursory baby wipe and put them away. The clear stamps have to be washed though, or they lose their cling-ability and that makes me impolite and cross.

Today this is a scheduled post.....I have to pop to work much earlier than I'd like to in order to get home early enough to take Miss Dunnit to Salisbury for last minute fabric purchasing for a costume for another convention....gotta love last minute!

So there we are, my desk, in a nutshell. Well, a few more words than necessary, but it's to encourage you to show us yours..please do - photo -upload to your blog and link it here, we'll be round for a butcher's at some time over the next five days!

Funny thing - Kraft Krazy in Tidworth? My fella works at Rushall School, so I guess he might be picking things up for me occasionally. LOL.... Catch you around....

I can relate to pushing stuff to the window. If I had a window in my craft room, I'd push it out of the window!

Off to bed as it's 3:30 am here but I promise to make the rounds as soon as I can! Thanks Julia! :) Nan

    ReplyDelete
  55. I cleaned stamps once. It was a weird feeling that I don't care to repeat too often! Your desk looks great. Just how an artist's desk should look.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ok, I have finally cracked and taken part. I have been wanting to for ages :)

Well done on cleaning all your stamps! I used to be terrible at doing that but I am trying to be better.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Looking good Julia! Is the stamp basket still empty?:)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Super impressed am I. Must admit - I clean mine quite quickly now. Only because i mainly use paint to stamp now and I fogot once. It's a booger to chisel out - especially off of expensive Mr Holtz stamps where I'm frightened of chiselling half the image off. Eek. So quick wash under the hot tap... and left to drain for weeks annoying Craig in the kitchen ;)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I am impressed by your clean basket - I do clean mine as I use them but only because if I didn't it would be too big a task later.
I won't mention my atg gun - it got flung to the far end of my craft room before I went away - driving me nuts!
    Happy fabric shopping!

    ReplyDelete
  60. So, where did the newly cleaned stamps go? Is there a basket of clean stamps hidden away somewhere??!!

I'm still debating on wether I want one of those monster tape guns. Ad concerned all that yellow might clash with my Ribena room ;-)

  74. Hi, You seem to be as busy as me .... where does the time go? Have a great week. ikki

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yay for clear spaces! LOL! I have a secret - after Tim Holtz confessed to never cleaning his stamps - I sorta stopped being picky about cleaning mine. I just blot them out until the ink is gone! I know...HORRIBLE, but if it is not gooey ink and isn't up in the crevices and such it really works just as well. Just say'n.

    ReplyDelete
  76. congrats on the empy tray and I wish you the best on the costume hunt

  77. Sorry i didn't post last week.. Back in action now !!

Anyway I've added my WOYWW and my WIMTW photos....are you working that one out yet? hehehe

It's my first time here btw.

  81. Ooh Salisbury! I bought a lovely stoneware mug in the cathedral shop (you have to see my post today!), and my stupid husband broke the handle off it! It was over a year ago and he's still not forgiven! So he bought me a different one this year at Glastonbury Abbey. He knows I'll decapitate him if he goes anywhere near it!! Anyhoo, lovely desk this week, and I am impressed with that empty stamp basket! How long will it take to fill it up I wonder???

    Hugs

  84. Eee you busy again! Desk looking as productive as ever,I am warming to the large tape gun, I have to say I did have my resavations about it at first, as it looks so big! But now I find myself googling it, and maybe one soon to be mine! I look like a reet lazy desk today! Everyones up to summat apart from me! Still in holiday mode! Must get going soon! After all the washing!!!! Take care Julia!

  106. Love those clear stamps! I agree...just push it back out of your way and go to it. Lol ~jeni :)

  107. Hi Hon it wasn't my ATG that I broke I love it too much it was my hot glue gun wasn't patient enough to let it warm up so the trigger snapped but it was at least 18 years old so can't really complain. I'm not an SU demonstrator, but I go to a fortnightly craft class and have got friendly with the girl that runs it and she is so when I have some spare cash I treat myself. I'm not mad enough to do party planning again done Chocoholics for 2 seasons and got sacked on the 3rd as I only sold 12k or choc in the 7 week season instead of £14k!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Wow... lucky girl with the empty basket.. I just love looking at all these desks.. thanks

  119. Hi Julia, thanks for visiting my blog. At the moment me and the other half are between houses so we are in the spare room at my moms, thats why I have such a small crafting space, he sits on his computer directly next to me and the bed is directly behind, so I sit in bed watching telly and crafting on a lap tray and he plays on his PC, works for now LOL but is becoming a problem as my stash is getting rather large now!! The tin is a Prima flower tin with a magnetic part on top that had buttons in it, says Silk Road Can on the bottom, I have plans to decorate it.

  120. Julia sorry I am late posting been a busy week! love the fact that you have cleaned your stamps - has it spurred you on to be more creative? Glad to see you are a girl after my own heart too and get the drink proportions correct!
