I think it's as far as Plan C....

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A plan is typically any procedure used to achieve an objective. It is a set of intended actions, through which one expects to achieve a goal.
Plans can be formal or informal:
In most cases, the absence of a well-laid plan can have adverse effects: for example, a non-robust project plan can cost the organization time and money.[1]
Informal or ad-hoc plans are created by individuals in all of their pursuits.

I've got a kerjillion things to do. My mind fizzes when I think about it all. It's all the fun stuff that happens in between work too, so that makes it a pleasant fizzy, at least. But I cannot deny that it's taking the sort of organisation and planning that I usually only apply to my real life. And that's why I'm already on Plan C. Plan A (last Friday's idea) - get home early from work on Friday, rush around and get a head start on the chores, including clearing up workroom ready for a major 'session' . Pieces started to fall off the plan when I left work late, and then Mr D voted for a movie and a take away and a beer. So you know....I spent Saturday on Plan A. Sunday was for executing the excellent Plan B. Rubbish weather and chores done - Plan B was to sit at desk and create a minimum number of cards towards workshops and Marathon. So you know....the weather wasn't so bad and I was enticed to the Farmer's Market. And then a large bacon butty and a domestic planning meeting that needed internet browsing and costings. That was it then. Monday dawns; so does Plan C - this time a week long plan - to make up for lost time and not panic. Stay focused, stay at home and stay on target. So last night I made ONE (count 1, uno, un, one 1) card and this morning over my muesli, I remade it because it was pants. Colour is such an issue in the dark, even with a daylight bulb or two! So I'm off now, and will create, just as soon as the shopping and tea is sorted. Stand by. I think this whole post may just be a warning. About the danger of making plans. And the possibility of a really shocking desk tomorrow morning. You might want to get some rose tinted glasses.

  1. Oh I am going to so miss the shocking desk tomorrow morning, I have scheduled my post, I so look forward to it every week,

  3. I learned my lesson years ago...whenever I planned something, especially something important to me, it always went pear shaped. So now I don't plan i "intend". Somehow if something I intended to do doesn't get done I don't seem to feel so bad about it as if it was something important, planned in detail. Crazy I guess, but it works for me!

  5. Every weekend hubby and I wake up and say, "so what's the plan of action today" ... do you know, I don't think once - things have ever gone as we planned them LOL. Still, that's half the fun, I guess.

  7. I always thought planning too much was a bad idea! Perhaps you should ask Baldrick if he has any spare cunning ones.... See you tomorrow for the big reveal. Can't wait.

  8. I read a cute saying once that goes: A meeting is no excuse for progress. Sometimes, I can replace the word "plan" for "meeting" and it's just about right! When I plan, I run out of time, so I'll go with Nike's famous line: "Just do it!" Hee hee.

  11. My only way of coping now is to have a list of Goals for both short-term and long-term which I raise as Tasks in Outlook. Then, each day, something or other pops up as I log into my emails and that reminder may, or may not, strike a chord of determination!

As far as diary dates/events that cannot be moved are concerned...well, anyone who knows me, knows my MS too - I live 'one day at a time' and that has to do.

On GOOD days - oh so sweet - I make a quick To Do list based on both the Task list and the Diary dates and, somehow, I get through the week, then the month, and have completed projects and Life events behind me!

    Take care Julia.

  12. LOL I always have a plan Julia but nothing ever goes to plan however much I plan, my husband or the children always cause disruption to any plans I make. The weekends are hopeless, we plan to do things and then do entirely the opposite or we are too tired from the week of chores. Oh well there is some fun along the way too. Have a good evening, Tracy Evans x

  15. Hmmm....that sounds a lot like my weekends. Planning is overrated anyway! The most fun things happen when you put off your plans and go with the flow...Helen's comment is so hilarious! "you should ask Baldrick if he has any spare cunning ones" LOL that made my day! Love that show, I have the whole series and the books!
