What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Well, not really a lot going on here this morning. I'm trying to come up with another card for the 'Trees' Workshop. It's tomorrow. I have NEVER left it this late before, but me and the Shopkeeper Gal were holding out for a delivery that hasn't materialised. So another idea is needed for the fourth card. Then there's one of the stamps I brought from Stamps & Memories at the show in Farnborough last week. It's on the desk to remind me to play with it a little..I think I want to use it for some party invitations, but until I've fiddled and faffed, I will not know for sure. Story of my life, fiddle and faff! In the absence of any more room to 'swing' to, I thought you might like to see the heap of stuff that accumulates on the worktop to the left of my desk. Inevitably, because it's a corner, I tend to completely overlook it in terms of tidying. See I have an admirable collection of beautifully coloured Shimmering Mist. They are on the surface to remind me: to use them and to use them on the 2 Scrap Ladies project I should be half way through by now. You know how that's going then.
I think that's it then for my desk. Am amused and amazed by your interest in my watches and mobile phone (see yesterday's post). But I'll blurb the stories over the next few days; hell you already know I'm untidy, hormonal and a little strange, you might as well know about my collecting problems too!

Meanwhile, I'd like to see your desks please. Show us what you're working on and give us a chance to see what you've got. Lovely. And, cometh the hour, cometh the man. Mr Linky that is. (And that's if my understanding of the instructions has been successful!) Probably easier. Please leave a comment as well as your post link though, it's still fun to have your reactions!

  2. Well, charging round the country having a snoop will be a trifle easier with Mr Linky's assistance. I'll probably be able to remember where I've got to more easily too!
I am really envious of all your 'stuff', but on the other hand I've got 'stuff' that I don't get around to using half enough!
I couldn't zoom in on your pictures for a really close look today, but I enjoyed looking nevertheless.

  3. Hello,
Thank you for Mr Linky. That should make it easier to visit everyone.
I like your tins for your pens and scissors.

  15. Haven't got anything to show today although I took some photos of a swinground I don't know yet when I'll be getting the film developed - if the weather stays fine I may go to Kew Gardens again on Saturday morning (I really must get the digital camera software sorted so it works!!) and so I will have to either upload it late or keep it for next week... I am at work so I can't scan anything that's on my workdesk - you wouldn't be very interested in it (although it is lunch time so the sandwiches are out....) I hope to get round you all later on to nose!

  18. woop woop - Mr Linky - THANK YOU ESTEEMED LEADER FOR MAKING YOUR FOLLOWERS LIVES EASIER!!!

I want to rummage in your corner (ooerr)!!! Also, by you so kindly adding Mr Linky - it may not take me 24 hours to visit everyone - over 60 peeps last week - well done. May I suggest that WOYWWers meet up sometime - it would be a hoot... Julia - as our leader - you can decide on the venue and we could car share etc to make getting to you easier. I'd love to meet my fellow WOYWWers.

    hugs

  19. Great idea to use Mr linky Julia
I love your corner you can get much more piled up into a corner with the extra support of the 2 walls can't you, I have a few bottles of glimmer mist too and forget to use them.
I think your not alone in being a collector all us crafter's are the same....some just keep it a secret .... Oh the shame of it!! Lol not like us show and tell gals !!! He he
Glad you like Dawn Houser designs too I love everything the woman touches, she visits my blog often (the first time I was in shock and couldn't believe I was so honoured !!) I follow her blog to have you been there ?
Well off to look at the other girls desks
    Catch you later

  21. Yay for Mr Linky, I too would forget where I's got up to and would get confused (not difficult though). Are those Inkadinkado Inchie stamps I spy on your desk??? Which ones? Lol, that's a great corner, I like what Susie says about being able to pile stuff up with the support of the two walls! Looks like you're well on your way to doing that!

  22. Your corner is lovely and tidy compared to mine, I keep promising to tidy it, but there seems to only be three days in the week...and two of them are Wednesdays! Love your misty paint, must treat myself to some of that for my birthday! Good idea to use Mr Linky, I have tried in the past to put him on my blog for something, but he wouldn't let me have a code...bribery didn't work...not even Nuttella

  29. I am so glad to see Mr Linky here today, purely selfish reason of course as I have a sticky note on my comuter desktop with the instrutions on how to add a link and last night I managed to delete it!!!! Lots of nice interesting things in your corner. Ive done a little swing today which is diffcult in a 6x5 ft space full to the brim with stuff (Hubbie would say rubbish but thats not a word in my dictionary!!) Hugs pam

  30. Mr Linky lets dimwits like me (menopausal brain death) off the hook from grappling with the intricacies of doing links .... Nice noseying around your corners today, but I do miss the bin. Didn't have anything interesting on my desk today, but have included some stuff that WAS, if you see what I mean!!

  31. 36 watches? Do you wear all of them-not at once obviously, but in general? My desk is my dining table so not much to see there-unless you want to see my tea-but since DH and DD are away that's likey to be egg on toast-so nothing worth looking at there either

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know what you mean about corners.. they seem to attract all sorts of things don't they. like mine, everything, lol

I wish you all the luck to get all your samples sorted. Why do we find it so hard to create under so much pressure, yet when we are just 'playing@ we come up with amazing work!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I got one of those corners..in fact, it is the whole room save for the desk I work on ROFL....I popped my desk on me blog first thing this morning cos I was off out...and...I learnt how to do that linky thingy...cos Linda showed us how to...and then...you have the Mr Linky hurrah! Means I don't have to make a prat of myself trying to do the linky thingy properly ... have fun xx

  34. Yah for Mr. Linky!...Thanks Julia it’s going to make things a whole lot easier.

I’m loving all the different angles of your room we’re getting to see and if it’s any consolation, I have a filing cabinet top that looks a lot like your little corner!

  38. I think this linky thingy is brilliant ...I'm not at all Tecky but admire those who are. Now the number of members of the WOYWW club has increased so much, this is really needed other wise its too hard to visit everyone.
I have done my WOYWW but really all there is on my table is mess...nothing changed there then I can hear many of you shout.lol

  39. wow - well done with Mr Linky absolutely inspired. It meant I could link my desk from work as I had already posted. I can't sign into blogger from work or leave comments so i have to nip round again when I get home for those I saw at lunch. But for some reason the system was happy with me linking. Linbyx

  54. Hey missy, the plate did have biscuits on it but I also carried the coffee upstairs on it as it was really full and I'm one of those people that makes things worse if I concentrate really hard on not making them worse IYKWIM! In other words, if I concentrated hard not to spill the coffee on the stairs on the way up, then I would have spilt it everywhere... so I used the plate as a little tray.

    Brenda

  55. hello Julia. Why are the plates so high up? the person who built our kitchen didn't have short people in mind.

  56. Hi Julia - in answer to your questions - the union jack tin is an empty hair gel tin of my son's - he gets through hair products quicker than nicky clarkes salon... I've cleaned it out and at mo it's got little punched flowers in and stamens - but i wanted it to (brace yourself) 'alter it'. Not from a tin to a lawnmower kind of alter (sorry that was the first thing that came into my head???!)...
The teapot - not sure what i'm going to do with that yet but will post when i've done it. :O)

I think your room looks just tidy enough to be healthy and untidy enough to be creative!
And though I only just found your blog tonight, it seems nice and oddball to me, so I think I'll come again, if I may?
I recognise some crazy peeps too......
