What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 64

Ha! Told you it wouldn't last. Or did I? Probably not - but you knew anyway! So here it is, back to being a glory surface. The Copics are out - all those shades are for a Christmas card that I had finished working on. The pack of Artemio stamps are the top of a pile of clear stamps in the Christmas theme.....I am trying to fulfil a promise, made here, very publicly. There's a cold cup of coffee - because I moved it to the left which is out of my 'favoured hand' line. Apparently. I say it's more to do with getting engrossed and forgetting it. The jar of buttons is teetering on the left front edge - I know not why. At a guess I'd say they were standing on top of my Copics box so had to be moved. There are the makings of a proper card on the desk though, so even though I've worked myself into about 6 square inches of space, I'm functioning. And look - a baby wipe - gosh everyone, I must have cleaned a stamp!

If this sight doesn't make you feel better about your own space, I fear that we are related and you'll just have to live with that bombshell. Meanwhile though, please show your work space and what you're up to....we love seeing it. Post a pic on your blog, come back here and add your link to the ever helpful Mr Linky. Lots of people visit lots of people, some people will visit everyone, some in one day, others over a bunch of days. No matter - this is about the showing and the sharing. Do you have any idea how many tips and ideas we've shared by doing this? I estimate about sixtyninetykerjillion by now. Priceless!

Personally I will be operating remotely this week, this post has been scheduled (I hope). This is not only my desk as at Tuesday evening, it's pretty much how I will leave it! My visiting you may well be erm, patchy or non existent. Don't take it personally, and don't worry - it's all good!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 63

Well mine looks relatively calm and ordered for a change. This isn't an illusion, but it also means that I haven't done much since Friday. I had a hissy fit and tidied absolutely. Except I didn't quite get to the basket of stamps waiting to be cleaned. Which as you can see, is becoming a heaped basket. I do not know what the motivation to sort it will be. Obviously, exposure via WOYWW isn't enough. Don't you love that - when some people think that weekly exposure will force them to be tidy. Last week's subtly placed card hiding my project for Daring Cardmakers is missing.....because I haven't done this week's yet...still walking around the idea in a blind panic. Really. You can see that my previous desk bin is now a holder for a bunch of wooden shapes that Mr D has cut - all part of our slow programme to cut a load and sell 'em...but they need road testing first...I'm getting there, honestly!

Join us then - show us your desk, what you're working on, where you're doing it - doesn't have to be a craft, doesn't have to be a desk, we're just fascinated by your everyday. Upload a pic to your blog and link it here to Mr Linky....we'll swing by and visit. Some of us will visit days later, it takes a while!
And notes:
Sorry Jenny, have to post early now, otherwise I'm late to work and don't catch up all day!
Thanks Jo, for the Mad House logo, will be using it, for sure.....oh it's a whole other post!!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 62

Well for a change and because the poor photography this morning is inescapable, I offer you two views! First my desk at home, it includes a strategically placed piece of card (!) which ironically you can't really tell is strategically placed at all, so I wrote on it. For your info and my self-importance, of course! There are some products on there that sit out of my comfort zone too, but as you can see, I'm having a go, making a mess and generally trying.
In the working part of my life, I'm quite tidy and have the appearance of organisation...sort of. One of the reasons for this is that my colleague is away and so I'm sitting behind the Reception desk, greeting visitors and scaring Reps. Always a bonus to working in a Reception! You may be able to see that I'm mugging up on Health and Safety Policy. We have some tweaking to do and apparently it's part of my job. Well it would be really. The Policies job was clearly allocated to the person who wasn't even working there at the time! I was at the point of offering to sleep with the boss to see if I can get out of it. But, once we were home and having supper this evening he said I was doing a great job and I should press on. And y'all know how I like to be flattered!

We're waiting to see your work space please - photo it, upload it to your blog and use Mr Linky here to show us where - easy. Doesn't have to be papercrafts and it doesn't have to be a desk - just show us where and what you're working on, it's fascinating!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 61

OK interweb, here's Becky's workdesk....we (she) got the time difference down and so you get a full day to study and admire!

Hello WOYWWers! I tried really hard, but could only get to the first 46 of you last week... maybe this week I won't be distracted by having car stereos installed, or grocery shopping. On my desk starting on the left is the beginnings of a circle pop up mini scrapbook, two owls for a card, and chicken stamps to be scanned into the computer and promptly blown up. Well, not the exploding kind of blown up, just made larger. I will start at 47 this week and hopefully be able to circle back around to the beginning. Thanks for showing your work spaces and projects, I've gotten some good ideas so far!

As for mine..mess again! Photos taken early; today is really going to be a day that counts! *sounds familiar* Anyway, pride of place is the lovely lovely hanging bin that Lunch Lady Jan made for me. The cherry fabric is just fab, huh. But she hated making it and even used a 'B' word. A very unusual occurrence. If you knew her, you would think she were sitting next to a saint, see. So I'm lucky huh - I have the bin. Thanks hugely to Josephine T who has her own version on her WOYWW from a couple of weeks ago - I used it to beat Jan into 'sewing just for me' mode - worked a treat! The rest of my desk is a bit of a disgrace really, but my word, I'm definitely happy about having found some time to make the mess!

So there we are - show us your desk too; link and leave a comment here and we'll all visit. Please forgive me for being slow to visit; I will do it, but at snail's pace!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 59

Shame, actually. Am busy and fed up with the fire fighting type of management of my space. Even the stamp shelves have piles of stuff which shouldn't be on them. And you can see, I'm working on top of stuff.. such a danger when you're inking and sticking. What you can see is a wedge of lovely papers and such; I need them in front of me for colour matching and of course, there's just nowhere to put anything. So now I admit defeat - swing right to behind my desk and see the 'cutting' station. Piled high again. And again, now driving me mad.

So it'll be a scourge type clean-up for the weekend and hopefully some lovely tidy, inspired crafting instead of the feverish 'looking for something' that's been going on this week. I would start today, but I have an important appointment with a cafetiere and a friend I made off the interweb. Will spill all later! Have a great day and oh - do show and tell - be brave - if you look over previous posts you'll see - it's not about untidy shame - it's about letting us see what you've got and what you're doing. Leave a comment and a link so we can pop round to yours for a rummage. You can even have a WOYWW button for your blog if you'd like - code and such at top left margin. or when you get to Nicki's you can bag one of her gem like badges.
Quite a few of you ask me how I manage to visit everyone that links in. I'm not the only one that does though, so don't rate me as special! Here's my secret: I don't get in a stitch about how long it takes - if I'm still visiting on Saturday, that's OK....it's meant to be fun, right?

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 58

Aha - Jennie, have a look at the desk...I've only actually really started the suitcases! That's a record, it's only been about 6 weeks since you gifted them to me. How exciting! Yes, interweb, I'm multi-tasking. And I feel all over the place! I think last week I threatened someone with a view of my ink pad storage...so that's why there's so much photography this week. Odd isn't it that my 'drawers' are fairly well organised and my desk top is well, like it is. Anyway, to celebrate I've changed my Nicki Logo. Yep, I'm an organised WOYWWer, I just feel all over the place.
The little pots with the coloured lids contain embossing powders. They are much easier in use than the cylindrical tubs you buy the stuff in - you have to try hard to knock it over and the wide opening makes it a cinch to get the powder back in. Usually. *Grin at Shopkeeper Gal* (she who hoovers after the Workshops, see.) The writing on each lid is actually on a clear sticker - so I'm not committed. Clever, huh. No really, let me have that. And that's it. If you like the look of my luggage, nip over to the Stamp Connection and get your own. The small one will be for business cards when I've finished. My desk will love it.
And talking of desks - show us yours. Get Mr Linky charged up - you know him - the cyber god that can link us all in a big ol' cultcircle thing whilst simultaneously arranging neat rows of numbered names and controlling gigabytes (as Linda might say) - show us your desk. Work surface. Where you craft. Or where you work....We wanna see what you're doing, and what you've got. So link in and leave a comment too, and we'll swing round to your place. Right now I'm off to put the kettle on. Join me, do.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 56

Gah, I'm not here today - first ever scheduled WOYWW from me! This taken on Tuesday evening...you can see sunshine - it was too hot to work in that puddle of warm light I can tell you!

I'm making cards from a pad of Papermania papers and tags and borders - impressive quality and price, really pleasant surprise. It's called 'Rose Garden' and is very pretty and pastel. And therefore delicate and somewhat outside my comfort zone!

Usual suspects - more than one pair of scissors of course, although I am impressed at my only using one reel of tape for today's card making session - there's usually 3 at least!

Scraps box at the back looks very uncontrolled to the lens, but I think the shadow makes it look s much larger than it is. I hope. Reality check due, probably! The basket at the near end is where the waiting-to-be-cleaned stamps live. Till they're cleaned. Then I put them away. The baskets at the far end are waiting to be filled with tools and stamps etc for each of the cards at this week's workshop. See, there's a method - everyhting's 'waiting' ! It's a very behind method and a bit panicked. That's why I'm not here this morning....this working lark is really interfering with my balance...I guess I'll find a routine soon. Please!

And here's an arty shot of a slight swing round - a temporary sanding wrapping and packing station was set up..it's almost over, so then can go back to using the top of the Cricut as a storage shelf!

So, come on then - show us your workdesk/lap tray/sofa/floor - whatever surface you work on; we want to see what you've got , what you're doing and to a certain extent, where you store it all! Doesn't have to be paper, craft or what you think is interesting, we'll decide on that! Put a photo on your blog and then add your name and post to Mr Linky here to tell us where to find you. Be warned, we'll come and look - but it takes some time! There's a badge on the top left of this blog if you want to erm, go public as a WOYWWer.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 55

I took this photo yesterday, about
5.30pm. It was very hot sitting at the workdesk. This morning the room is in total shade and because I'm still in my nightie, I'm freezing! Contrasts. This morning the first job is to clear this desk - ready for me to begin chopping and counting stock for Thursday's workshops. When I say clear, I mean the area of my glass mat .....for in truth I'm half way through some more hearts to sell and I don't wanna put stuff away just to get it back out again! I think that's the theory behind push-back. Works for me!
Amongst the erm, stash, are two of my favourite stamps - both by Dawn Houser -(the ones I used on the tag shown yesterday - must be my fave all time designer in rubber. I think...I'm not unsure of my devotion, I just don't know if I can make the commitment of 'definitely' my favourite - I mean, what if I discovered another!! Don't ask me ever to do a list of my top 10 of anything will ya? You can clearly see the broken 'S' of the B wordI talked about last week, and good grief, one of the suitcases Jennie gave me has found it's way onto the desk...this probably signifies some sort of intent! Probably. There's also my pair of black non-stick teflon coated scissors. Love 'em. Loved them even more before I had the bright idea of sharpening them and so removed the tungsten coating from the blade edges. Foolish old woman. Still, they're nice and sharp!

We're waiting to see your work space please - photo it, upload it to your blog and use Mr Linky here to show us where - easy. Doesn't have to be papercrafts and it doesn't have to be a desk - just show us what you're working on, it's fascinating! See you in a minute or so then!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday 53

I took these pics yesterday evening..sun soaking various parts of my tiny but lovely room. Mr Dunnit was minding his own biz, playing cards on the PC whilst waiting for tea. I remembered a domestic priority - the green bin needs to be brought from the back garden to the front for emptying..and while it's dry and sunny, it's a good time to drag it through the workroom - so I went to the trouble of moving the desk and Mr D did everything else! See, my desk sits against the barn door to the garden...the whole room was built on the back of the garage (and you can see that door from this pic - no idea why I'm bothering you with this!) So we had to be a bit smart in fitting the workroom. Well, Mr Dunnit did. I chose the paint colour. My desk is on humongous casters so in theory it can be swung around and out of the way with ease. But of course, it's so cluttered that it takes a little more than 'ease'. Still, on the bright side, I did at least sweep the floor!

The first shot is taken standing outside through the door that you normally see as a window above my desk. The long shot is from the left end of my desk ; pen pot and scrap box really dominate. But you can see the printer and compuer which aren't actually on my desk..that's a whole other worktop to fill up! But, some clearing and levelling will begin. It has to, I have loads to do and it is finally driving me mad. Yeah right, watch this space!

And talking of space - share yours will ya? Photo it, upload it to your blog and use Mr Linky here to show us where - easy. Doesn't have to be papercrafts and it doesn't have to be a desk - just show us what you're working on, it satisfies a deep and extraordinary need in all of us, really. But mostly me I expect!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 52

Wednesday already - where did that year go!
I lifted this from my blog post a year ago:

I hit on an idea last night that I thought may be fun - particularly in view of the cathartic nature of sharing. I thought we (that's you interweb, and me) could do a 'what's on my work table this wednesday' feature thingy. Yep. From me, a sort of down market and probably badly photographed version of the sort of thing that real big celeb scrappers do - but theirs involve finished items, links, articles and sponsor giveaways....none of which will happen here. I just wanna see what you're all doing that I'm not...I really like the idea of seeing your work in progress; specially as your finished stuff is always fab. So naturally, it would work if you'll take part - leave a comment so I can come and see what's on your table if you're brave enough!
And do you know interweb, I think if that were the mission, then here we are at an anniversary - and Mission Accomplished! No doubt - none at all, that the sharing and chatting and meeting has been cathartic - and has proven beyond doubt that no matter how many differences, we are still human beans. And we're nice.
I promised bad photography and no sponsor give-aways - and man, I've sooo delivered. And so have you, dear Interweb, so have you. I don't have any idea how many desks I've been able to pick over and rummage through, how many sunny aspects I've admired and storage solutions I've swooned over. Many. I've really enjoyed it. Thank you. The celebrity corny speech thing reminds me to say - there is no WOYWW without you. True that.

Shall we go on? If you like. Same rules, same ridiculous acronym, and it's meant to be fun. So I think I was subconciously preparing a doozy of a desk.......a full shot in bad light - ta na!

If you've made time to join the Anniversary Challenge, thank you again. There are a handful of small non-sponsor (!) gifts to be awarded..the criteria is horribly subjective; the judging will be based entirely on how much the judges like it. Technical skill and time spent will sadly, not count. Remember, it must, however subtly, bear the WOYWW acronym. And be fit to enhance your work area. The judges are Sissy Dunnit and Dori Melton, the two that make the team of the most upcoming paper and textile designers in California, USA, the World inc. My blingy canvas (less than subtle huh!) will make me smile every day...it shines and sparkles, it's going to be on the wall out of the way and it used a lot of stuff that frankly, I haven't touched for ages. Another personal triumph then really!
As ever then, photo your work space, post on your blog and leave your name and link and we'll pop by for a visit...on the basis that this is an anniversary, I will be wearing my paper crown, but to help out, I'll bring my own mug. Deal?

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 51

Wow - week 51! If you're going to enter the WOYWWAC then you have a week to pull it out. Or off. I don't know. I'm so smug about being ready and now too busy to worry about the other much better ideas I've since had, that actually, I'm quite looking forward! Anyway, here's my desk at sundown last night, untouched by human hand this morning. It looks a mess as usual, but at least it's genuinely productive...I'd just finished two cards for a workshop and my next job is to do some checking and prepping for another workshop which involves using Miss Dunnit's '12 of 16' album as a sample; a great way to get it done! So that's what you see. And that's pretty much all I'm saying - keeping it brief is really helpful on a Wednesday! But look - it seems so much tidier from a different angle!

We're waiting to see your work space please - photo it, upload it to your blog and use Mr Linky here to show us where - easy. Doesn't have to be papercrafts and it doesn't have to be a desk - just show us what you're working on, it's fascinating! See you in a minute or so then!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 48

A mess is what! I started cutting something out, then I decided to mount some pyrimage cards I'd made up from the Crafthouse Press kit and then I was digging through my brad collection for something for Miss Dunnit to use and then I finished sticking the buttons onto the flip flops and it all just adds to the sense of mess and clutter. Still, at least it's changed from last week - there were moments when I feared it wouldn't have!
Centre stage is a sheet of Christmas peel offs - it has a few swirl patterns around the text and I was picking those off to go on a non-Christmas card..no idea why that isn't in the shot!

The flip flops are a gift for a friend, I don't think she reads here, so it's OK. And she'll be given them tonight, so not long for a badly kept secret! Paige and I saw the idea in Monsoon or Accessorise last month; I'll show them in 'full' when they've been given.
You can't see, and not deliberately so I must say - purely accidentally......my WOYWWAC piece is underway and the initials are actually under those boxes on the left..waiting to be stuck on or drawn around or something. Dunno yet!

Otherwise it's all the usual suspects...papers at top right that I want to try and use, stamps waiting to be returned to Shopkeeper Gal are at top centre, the card holder is unemployed - leaning against the back edge of my desk - because apparently there's no room!

Come on then, show us your work surface - doesn't have to be a desk and certainly doesn't have to be paper crafting, we just would very much like to see what you're up to today. Post a pic on your blog, link here and we'll visit. It takes a while to visit; please be patient and stay kind - repay the visits - this is all about the community we got going on here people. Indeed if you're thinking about joining in, you may be pleased to know that there aren't any joining fees or rules - just join in when you can, and when you can't, we'll miss you. You can do the Anniversary Challenge whether you've been WOYWWing for 47 weeks or 1 week, s'not important!

What's WOYWWAC? Check this post.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

This shameful situation was recorded yesterday as the sun finished moving round the garden and finished up in my workroom - I even had to open the door - if I could remember how the locking mechanism works, it would have been the top half of the door - Mr Dunnit created it as a barn door but the lock-one-half-lock-both-halves thing fools me at the beginning of each year; no doubt he will be patient when I ask for the 3rd lesson in as many years! The table is just covered in everything, even I can't pick out specifics; and really I call it shameful because I didn't do any 'work' at all yesterday, as you may well know, I went off to meet that Paige, Ladybird, Ladybird. She's just as you think she will be, except she's nicer. We shopped, walked, enjoyed sunshine and chatted. The day inevitably involved the purchase of 34 Krispy Kreme doughnuts! I hasten to add that we didn't eat that number, but I also hasten to add - don't ever challenge me! Anyhoo, I've tidied my desk out of respect for Paige's working method and because I really need to get things sorted today! So first thing, my desk looks like this

Bit gloomy in here; the promised sunshine even slower than me in getting it on today! Now, in terms of swing I have not much to offer, but I thought you may like to see the one thing that I continually move out of the way when I'm photographing the desk etc - my chair of choice!
It's a tractor seat with adjustable height. It's great when you're fit and happy to sit for hours; sorry to say at the moment that isn't me, so it's currently being alternated between stand and sit - the old yo-yo thing. Drives me nuts, so glad I don't have onlookers to see me fidgeting and crashing about! You can also of course, see how untidy I am under the desk....and how many times I miss the bin! Yikes. Will go tidy up presently.

Show us your work surface then, show us what you're doing. Doesn't have to be paper and doesn't have to be a real desk, our interest is in what others are doing with whatever you've got. Join in by uploading a pic or two to your blog and then link it here - loads of us will visit. Please bear in mind as there are so many of us now that it takes a while to visit; be patient! Grab a button from the left side of this blog if you want to go public with your Wednesday revelations. The worst thing that could happen? You might make some new friends.

GGIIWA? What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Well, here's a staggering return to form - Brenda, you may wanna look away and wonder how long it really will take to rub off on me!!
I haven't actually managed much since I got home from Belfast - except to dump new stuff on top of the work in progress stuff and move some things around. In the quest for space of course.

The red clock house (unfinished) is still there - at least I have an idea now. And since Scrap Lady Ally blogged about how to alter photos to fit the window sizes, I may actually be able to move on with this one! The yummy Basic Grey is for round two of some invitations - I intend to use the other side of the sheet, so that's unintentionally mysterious! You can see the new stamps I talked about yesterday; other stamps are awaiting attention for a frightening number of workshops that I've committed to. Actually most of the stuff you can see there is for workshop purposes. The silver ink pad is a breath of fresh air - I've been using and re-inking the same one for years, so I think this will be a great treat! Inside the horribly reflected plastic bag is the makings of a mini book that I started around the table at Ffroggie's place over the weekend. Started. Unfinished because it was late and there was chatter and another person's stash to look at; much too distracting!
It doesn't look any more inspiring from this end either. I'm up for a jolly good tidy up and am feeling very much in the 'getting on' mode. That is because for the last two days and most of this morning, I am committed elsewhere; frustrating but to be expected!
Today's edition of WOYWW is for our mutual friend Paula, by now hopefully post-surgery; feel better soon gal, we need you back, pronto!
So come on then, leave a comment, make use of the Mr Linky thingy and show us your workdesk - surface - whatever it is, we wanna see it. And what you're doing of course!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Aaggh I'm all behind. I blame Monday. I spent it in Exmouth (as blogged yesterday) and so yesterday at home didn't feel like Tuesday. So now, even though I know it's Wednesday, I feel like it's Tuesday and I feel like I've got more of the week than I have. Golly, it's making me incoherent! Don't bother to re-read that, it'll probably be more frightening than lacking sense on a second consideration!
Lordy, it's tidy today! That's because all I did yesterday was unpack and put away and then tentatively start on the Anniversary invites. Then I blogged and didn't get back to them, so there was no chance to make a mess. Although you have to ask - why I need 3 rolls of double sided tape. And why I seem to have decided that I can knock out a card without a pair of scissors. Well, how about what is actually on the desk...hmm. A nestabilitie shape with some lovely text stamped upon it. My glass mat which I would run back in to rescue from a fire. The sadly unused Prima and button jars; I think they might as well be put away now, I'll try another tactic for using those. The Martha Stewart border punch (loopy) is still there because I used it yesterday to re-make a card for tomorrow's workshop - I was cutting stock and sorting kits and blow me, I didn't have enough of the same paper to go around. So I've made another card - the same - but in a different colour split. And then the punch stayed on the desk because I was going to use it again last night. But clearly, I didn't. I played scrabble with my phone instead!
There's another Clock House shape for the 2 Scrap Ladies project - now it's painted I've kinda lost my nerve with it, so it sits there waiting for what Paula calls the 'ping' moment. She's right, it will happen. Probably about a week after the event! And the little die cut bunny - the spare from tomorrow's workshop kits...waiting to be used on another card.....which in real life means it'll be moved around the desk until I'm fed up with it and throw it away.

So now, with the help of that fabulous Mr Linky - you know him - the cyber god that can link us all in a big ol' cultcircle thing whilst simultaneously arranging neat rows of numbered names and controlling gigabytes - show us your workdesk. Work surface. Where you craft. We wanna see what you're doing, and what you've got. So link in and leave a comment too, and we'll swing round to your place. Right now I'm off to put the ketlle on. Join me, do.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Well, not really a lot going on here this morning. I'm trying to come up with another card for the 'Trees' Workshop. It's tomorrow. I have NEVER left it this late before, but me and the Shopkeeper Gal were holding out for a delivery that hasn't materialised. So another idea is needed for the fourth card. Then there's one of the stamps I brought from Stamps & Memories at the show in Farnborough last week. It's on the desk to remind me to play with it a little..I think I want to use it for some party invitations, but until I've fiddled and faffed, I will not know for sure. Story of my life, fiddle and faff! In the absence of any more room to 'swing' to, I thought you might like to see the heap of stuff that accumulates on the worktop to the left of my desk. Inevitably, because it's a corner, I tend to completely overlook it in terms of tidying. See I have an admirable collection of beautifully coloured Shimmering Mist. They are on the surface to remind me: to use them and to use them on the 2 Scrap Ladies project I should be half way through by now. You know how that's going then.
I think that's it then for my desk. Am amused and amazed by your interest in my watches and mobile phone (see yesterday's post). But I'll blurb the stories over the next few days; hell you already know I'm untidy, hormonal and a little strange, you might as well know about my collecting problems too!

Meanwhile, I'd like to see your desks please. Show us what you're working on and give us a chance to see what you've got. Lovely. And, cometh the hour, cometh the man. Mr Linky that is. (And that's if my understanding of the instructions has been successful!) Probably easier. Please leave a comment as well as your post link though, it's still fun to have your reactions!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

In a move of uncharacteristically impressive organisation, I can show you a transatlantic desk as well as mine, this very morning. It's uncharacteristic of course because I had very little to do with it! This fabric and design laden surface is Stephanie's. It does indeed look as if she's using a permanent marker to colour some cord. The rubber glove and the pen, cord and scratch paper tell me that much. The rest you'll have to surmise, but I'm guessing it has something to so with that magnificent 'tablecloth' we saw last week over at PamKitty's. Just when you thought that life was too short for mushroom stuffing, Sissy Dunnit brings you colouring your own cord! Wow indeed.

And then there's my desk. You can see snow again, it's falling thick and fast this morning, grr. Again Rosie, you can see the green bin....conveniently located by the door and the discarded christmas tree....a hint from one to another in this household that the tree needs to be er, trimmed to fit in the bin! Anyway, that's through the window and I should save that for Thursdays!

My desk is the usual mess after yesterday; no sign of the sewing machine - I set it up elsewhere in the house because I couldn't squeeze anything else onto the surfaces in here! I've added three packets of teeny Papermania buttons to my button jar - do you know that you get less of the polka dot ones in a pack for the same price as you do the plain..really - how cheap is that! SO to get my own back, I will decorate my own from now on with my trusty Signo white pen! Savings of that nature will make a significant impact I'm sure, on my 'Spend Less' intention. Which isn't going so well. You can see my box of Stabilo coloured pens - really nice thin nibs for journalling and drawing stitches on papers. I must say when they run out, they will be replaced, I use them a lot. There's also a bottle of Prima flowers at the back of the desk. In an effort to remind me to use some. I love what everyone does with flowers and I have resolved to try and include them here and there. Until last night, this bottle was all the flowers I own and they are old - the original little flowers, I fell of course, for the packaging and think it was about a year before I could bring myself to break the seal on them bottle! The white card on the glass mat is cut awkwardly because I'd embossed it with a wordy folder and used some of the words as separate little tags. You can just see the makings of a couple of cards, and the paint is part of the fixings for the canvas. I'm not too ashamed of it this week; at least I can, hand on heart, say it's a productive mess!

So it's your turn - leave a comment here and direct us to your blog so we can have a nosey at your workspace. It doesn't have to be a desk, it certainly doesn't have to be tidy! We wanna see what you're doing and what you're using. Make a habit of it and brag about it with the button you can snatch in the left margin - go on, it's harmless and it's free and well, you'll be in quite a large circle!

FWOTY! What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday

First Wednesday of The Year! These acronyms are getting boring now, sorry. Despite a morning shot, the light is pretty good today. On account of the 4 inches /10 centimetres of snow in the garden...good at reflecting what little light there is, I must say. See how I used metric and imperial there? I've noticed that on the TV..the newscasters report the bad weather in imperial, but the weather people are metric. Gotta love being British.
Anyway - my desk! Argh! You can't even see my lovely and well organised scrap paper box now - too far left! Oh well. Take a second to suss out my next desk innovation, an idea copied shamelessly and without permission from several of you - I have a mini bin! I know, I know, but after your breath has steadied and your eyes have changed from green back to their natural colour, ask yourselves this:
How long will it last?
What is she putting off by making all these improvements?
Naturally, the answers to these are probably not very long and certainly something. The LO is for the Cropsters - and in fact will crop up in a workshop later this month too, and yes, it's me in the terrible photo. I have no idea why, but all photos of me are terrible - they never show the me I see in the mirror! My acrylic box of gems is at left and there's a 6x6 album standing up against the patterned paper scrap box...it's a work in progress, currently awaiting a photo delivery. If you wanna know about anything else, please ask! NormaJean wanted to know: the big pegs are from Creative Imaginations, sold in pairs and are 4 11/16/12cm tall.
Come on then, New Year, new trivia! Show us your desk, lap tray, floor, kitchen counter - wherever you're working. It's not about tidy or untidy (OK, it is, a little bit!) mostly we want to see what you're working on and what you've got. It's fun! Leave a comment here so we can swing by and admire. We've all met a lot of great bloggers this way. Why wouldn't you wanna be part of that?

LWOTY What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Well people, here we are at the end of the year - like the new acronym? Last Wednesday of The Year, see! And for a change, this morning I've been up and at it. Rushing around a bit; realising that if Miss Dunnit's Godbrothers and Godparents are bothering to visit, we should show some hospitality, tidy up at least! My workdesk, bereft of notebook, looks the same as it did. So here's what I've really been working on this morning:

Domestic bliss - do you think the children (sic) will spot that I've already run out of Christmas napkins? And if my Mum reads this, will she faint because we're using paper napkins? Do you think, as it was so cold in there this morning that the crackers will actually snap? I have my suspicions that they may be damp and disappointing. Blergh. Do you think it will truly ever get light enough to take a half decent photo? I'm very grateful that this area (on the BBC weather chart it is the exact border between South East and South West) is not forecast any of the grim weather that others are experiencing, but the dark sky suggests otherwise to me - after all, this picture was taken at about 9.45 this morning. Still, light or dark, this particular work surface is in for a lot of use today - won't it be imaginative and make a change to have big roast lunch - midweek - how decadent!

Show us your workdesk then - be brave - if you look over previous posts you'll see - it's not about untidy shame - it's about letting us see what you've got and what you're doing. Leave a comment so we can pop round to yours for a rummage. A bit like Santa, we like to see food and drink on your desk. Reassures those of us that can't live without either. You can even have WOYWW button for your blog if you'd lke - code nad such at top left margin.

Oh and..the Housekeeping post yesterday neglected to actually say where Kraft Crazy is....it's in Station Road, Tidworth, Hants. All the workshops take place there. Other, 'on the road' stuff is pimped by me under the 2 Scrap Ladies banner. Unless you have something you'd like me to erm, pimp!

So, What's On Your Workdesk?

It's come around really fast - am to be found in normal panic mode but, my word, also in TIDY mode! Yes. When the going gets tough, I have to be organised and you can't be organised with six tonnes of stash spread across the table, worktop, floor and fold-up chair that I unfolded just to create another surface. It takes so long to find anything. I know, those of you that tidy as you go and put away religiously are, as I type pinning on the 'Told You So' medals. But it's not that I didn't already know that, nor that I don't yearn for that particular wholesome, some would say anal, characteristic. But it's just not my way. Anyway, today we have a reasonable order about the desk.

There of course is my wooden card holder, as usual, in improper use, but doing a sterling job. The gold holographic card is about to be used to mount some instructions on. You can see two others poking out of the 'envelopes' leaning against the back of the table. These are the supplies needed for the Marathon cards. Well the first three cards anyway. Way to go in terms of preparation then! You can see my stapler. Nothing remarkable about it at all. Except that lump of blue-tack has been on the top for over seven years. If I were vaguely superstitious, I would consider it a blob of luck or longevity. But I ain't and it isn't. It's a bit dusty if that means anything. Apart from the obvious non-dusting, lazy-cow type meaning, of course. Behind the sellotape dispenser is a small number of dollar bills. I forget how many and it's 3 feet from where I'm sitting at the moment, so I'm not going over there to count it. It represents the the Ornament exchange that I documented earlier this week. I of course, cannot send postal stamps to enable Megan, my host over there in the USA, to post forward my Ornaments, so am going to send her the notes as payment. Sounds like a plan huh. So did my ornament idea. Look out for plan B. Er, any day now!

There's chocolate on the desk too. And I won't be eating it. Very front right corner is a bar that I've made a new cover for - part of a workshop next week. NOT altered for goodness sake, just re-covered. Presumably even the mighty TH wouldn't alter chocolate; I think he'd slide down the ratings a bit quick if he did! There's a couple of Moleskine notebooks on the front edge too. They're awaiting transformation by stamps and stuff. Again, not altering, because they'll still be notebooks when I've done something to them. Getting the theme here? Gosh, I may start a campaign about the word 'alter'. As soon as I've altered my attitude and become uber organised that is.

Come on then, join in. Show us your work desk/top/carpet/surface...we're not bothered by what you work ON - we wanna see what you're doing and what you've got. Yep, we really are that nosey! Now, you can comment here and/or link to your blog, we'll all come round and have a rummage. It's only for fun, no need to tidy first and it's only for fun. So don't take it seriously, just join us for a bit of united fun. Grab the WOYWW button from the sidebar of this blog if you like. That's also a bit of silly fun. Apart from the skill that made the button of course - Steph and Annie were behind that, not me.
