What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 867

I had a day out on Monday with my lovely Miss Dunnit. It wasn’t deeply glam, we went to IKEA in Southampton to sort out her Christmas present. It was lovely to be with her though. The point of telling you though is to help you understand why I can’t get my head into today being Wednesday! I seem to be living on unreal days! Feels like Tuesday here!
I do however, have a real time, real mess and real stuff photo of my desk. The invitations were finished on Sunday and I thought I might take part in a challenge set by my friend Jolande who is a Stampin’ Up gal. Once a week, make a card using old SU! Products. I can do that, and would certainly benefit from a collection of cards to use.

So there’s the makings of a couple of cards, I don’t know how old the stamp set it, but it was second hand to me, and is wood mounted, so that probably ages it in SU terms! You can also just see some wax seals on the scrap paper, I’m practising the pouring and amounts of wax. I’m going to have to find a pot to keep them in, the  bad ones can be melted down again, but if it comes out well, it’s worth keeping for erm, something. That Kathy On The Hill has really set me off on something!

Huge but gentle hugs to our Neet, we all think of you often - and some of us talk about you! Xxx

  1. Good morning Julia, I never know what day it is, I’m getting as bad as my 93 year old mum haha. Ah well not to worry eh. Have a lovely week no matter what day it is

  2. Hi Julia, just popping by, still finding it hard to reclaim my Wednesdays, so no post from me! I am sure I got some wax stuff in the goodie bag I received at my last 'retreat'. Not going this year as the pain of adding to my pile of unfinished products outweighs the pleasure I get from it. Like you I am constantly surprised by what day it is and have developed another bad habit - I regularly sleep in until 9.30 or later so my day are getting shorter! Sorry to hear about Neet, sounds like she's been going through the wars. love n hugs Cindy xx

  3. Hi Julia, I just read Cindy’s comment and thinking I am glad I am not the only one who sleeps in later! Southampton brings back memories. I did my Teaching Certificate there. I am still using up the 200 cards I made a few years ago, probably got a few years left too ๐Ÿคฃ. Hugs Angela #13

  5. Lovely cards, I could really do with making some but will I ever!!! I have a pot of wax seals I made and glue them on projects as and when. Ah you got to see you kiddo too, isn't it delightful. Sigh. My scar is incredibly sore so I'm holding off the deep massage for a day or so to let it calm down a bit, raided the chemist for Epaderm and E45 today though. Hugs Bj#3

  6. Beautiful cards - fun to use old faithful stamps I'm sure. I bet Ikea trip was fun. It's a great place to while away a few happy hours together. x x Jo ๐ŸŒˆ

  7. Pleased you're enjoying the wax seals. I think I may have found a Balloon dog on Temu but if not I'll get back to you so thanks for the offer Julia. There are moulds in different shapes that you can use to apply the wax if you want the finished seal an exact shape but I quite like them messy too. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x4x

  8. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the often the only days I am sure of... WOYWW and Kew respectively ... the working week blurs into a long mad rush! I must have missed something about invitations (probably speed-read the last post) but well done on finishing them. Glad you're having fun with the wax. Happy WOYWW Helen #1

  9. You do love a wood mounted stamp! Looks like you’re having fun at the desk which is what it’s all about. And you’re being productive too, did you have many invitations to make? It made me smile that Miss D’s present came from ikea, Owen’s came from B and Q lol

  10. Looks like you’re enjoying your stamping! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to IKEA. I always buy their elderflower cordial, which is superior to those you can buy in supermarkets, and which they don’t sell online. You were right about my Florentines - the box came back empty! I’d left Brian with some broken ones but will have to make some more.
BTW I don’t mind the login being a an as long as you sign it.
    Happy WOYWW

  11. Hi, well it’s now Thursday! I usually keep better track of the days if it’s a M W or F because I go to water aerobics at 7:00 am on those days. As you can see, it’s not a fool proof tracking method.
IKEA ! Wish we had one close enough to go occasionally. 6 hours away is the nearest!
Lovely cards, superb coloring! Nice to have a stash and be able to find them when needed!
Happy you are enjoying making wax seals! I’m such an enabler ๐Ÿ˜‚
    Happy Thursday too!

  12. I'm with you Julia! I hardly ever know what day it is! I have to think very hard in the mornings! Good luck with your SU challenge! I've never even seen them wood mounted! ❤️Lindart #15

  13. That rose stamp is rather beautiful Julia. Glad you are having fun with the wax seals - I am sure you will find a use for them. WOYWW is sometimes the only way that I know what day it is - especially over Christmas and New Year. Over at Mum's and feeling a bit better. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
