Well I didn’t get the chance. The engineer rang to say the part he needed hadn’t arrived and so he’d make me wait in on Thursday instead. Cue my bottom lip sticking out because I’d arranged a nice morning out for myself. But I need the oven to work, particularly this month! Anyway, as you can see, I’m making a few tags, squirting and spraying. Squirting because the sprays block up so easily don’t they? Still, it was never an exact art. In all the mess you can barely tell that the blob of yellow at the front of my desk is an edit to hide a Christmas gift that I can’t yet reveal! It just looks like more messy paper! The paper cup at the back holds the cut up foam tape and very useful it is too, although the next pot will have some more weight to it, I can’t see that one staying upright when the pushback really starts, it’s not heavy enough! You can just see the green cards in front of the pen holder, they are the Rudolph cards I had started last week. Close up? Here:
A bit fuzzy, but hey, that at least fulfils my two photo intention for this post! Whatever you’re doing, I know time at your desk and to read blogs is at a premium this month, but join in if you can, we do want to see your desks. Ironing, cooking, catching up, relaxing…whatever you’re doing, tell us about it please!
Those Rudolph cards are so cute Julia. Hope the engineer gets the part in time to fix the oven tomorrow. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #1
ReplyDeleteHow annoying about the oven - hope the part and the engineer turn up tomorrow! Nothing at all exciting on my desk today, sorry... but I am here! Happy WOYWW Helen xx
ReplyDeleteYou and the oven, me and the washer - both which we cannot do without. Well, we could do the launderette I suppose. Just bought new undies and nightwear (not that I needed more PJ's or undies.
ReplyDeleteHow annoying that you have to wait until tomorrow, especially as your plans were scuppered.
That is why I rarely spray - the blocking. Mine are more splodges than nice sprayed even pieces. Plus, that despite it all i get spray everywhere, despite a spray booth. That's why it is a summer sport, I paint the grass beautiful colours.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Oh so annoying when you wait in and..... aaaarrrhhhh. Yup the sprays do do a bit of squirting don't they, not used mine in years so they are remarkably OK considering. Love your tags and cards, and wouldn't have noticed the yellow splodge if you hadn't said - LOL BJ#5
ReplyDeleteLove the Rudolph cards and the sprayed blue cards....wonder what they will be? Hope your oven gets sorted soon or it will be out with the BBQ for the turkey this year.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Apologies - first Twiglet link is last week's. I will get it right eventually! Life sounds a bit hectic. I hope the oven is sorted soon. I bet we all have messy desks just now. x x Jo
ReplyDeleteI cant seem to get the knack of spraying- more of spouting. I like a bit more control! I almost never use my oven anymore I love my air fryer/ toaster oven. I dont want to use anything that can't turn itself off! Ho Ho HO- Robyn #10
ReplyDeleteOh my! We just had the oven cleaned (seems a tradition, cleaning the mess from Thanksgiving just in time for Xmas LOL!) and that was enough for me. It takes the guy HOURS and he's a chatter. I cannot imagine being without the oven over the holidays. Eeek. And clogged sprays, I feel that pain too. I finally got some replacement lids for the Gloss Sprays cause they clog in a heartbeat. Your tags are looking lovely and bright and those reindeer cards very sweet. Sorry about your day outgit deferred, but gosh don't we all have so much to do at home it is ALMOST a blessing sometimes LOL!
ReplyDeleteDetermined to carve out my desk hop time today!!

Hi Julia, that's a bit of a bummer when you'd got something else planned. I'm sure some men still think we sit at home all day waiting for them to get the job done. Hope it gets sorted Thursday at least. One might have thought he'd have made sure the part was available before planning the visit. The Rudolph card looks like a sweetie. I love spraying but nomally leave it to the summer and do it outside or use a box to put the paper in otherwise it ends up all over the place. You could try soaking the spray top in warm water and squeezing the pump which can clear it sometimes but it's still a messy job. Have a good woyww and happy crafting, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteWell I hope the oven finally gets sorted on Thursday, this has not been good especially in December! What a pain about it mucking up your morning too, don’t blame you for having a pet lip. I didn’t realise that yellow was an electronic scribble, though it was something on the desk!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely need the oven this month! I hope it gets repaired quickly. I find sprays difficult to control and the spray seems to go everywhere! Perhaps I will take several sheets paper outside and just spray to my hearts content! Happy WOYWW. Angela #11
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain...planning and disappointment. We went Friday for breakfast 10 miles east but it was closed, went for 5pm supper 5 miles east that place was closed, went 10 miles North open but were doing potluck for 5 tv's of sports. No grill open We had a drink, left the noise and went a block away and had a great tenderloin basket. We'll be back.
ReplyDeleteLove your inky color tags and your cute reindeer. I love doing the Christmas preps but so regret not starting earlier. I just like to enjoy NOV..Fall..and Thanksgiving. Time just flies by, ENJOY the week.
Hopefully the oven got fixed! Something essential for December! Our house seems to be falling apart around our ears. Our kitchen sink is broken, the tub has a crack, appliances need replacing...all I want for Christmas is about $100,000! You never know what Santa might bring! As for spraying, I always spray in a pizza box which is great for containing the splatter. I also rinse out my sprayer after using, I think it helps with the blobs. But I do like that blobs, that said! I haven't even started Christmas Cards yet - I better get busy! Have a great week, Lindart #16
ReplyDeleteApologies - I was all fingers and thumbs this morning after Gracie wouldn’t settle and kept me awake till 3am.
ReplyDeleteYour Rudolph cards are cute and I hope your oven repairer comes on time tomorrow.
Take care and happy WOYWW

As someone who has been without an oven since June - I feel your pain! Getting someone to come out was a nightmare and you can only do so much with an air fryer. We have been living the pie and toad in the hole life to the max since we got it repaired a week or so ago! Fingers crossed he comes to fix yours this time.

Coming in Late but I'm here!
ReplyDeleteLove your new windows or have you moved to another room . . . .
Hope your engineer has come, fixed your oven and is gone . . . leaving nothing but goodwill behind him.
I can't believe one more WOYWW and it's Christmas . . . how did that happen . . .
