What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 334

The clocks have turned - we moved back an hour into Greenwich Mean Time last weekend. Which means it's dark at 5pm and already I hate it! I took the photo yesterday in the late afternoon - oddly, it wasn't as pitch black outside as it suggests. My desk remains cluttered with unpacked stuff after being away for a crafty retreat with some girlfriends.
I haven't even managed to put away the LOs I made, let alone all the stash. Or move some of the stuff actually across the threshold into my workroom. I mean, why clutter up my desk area when I can leave it all to languish in the lounge!
This is a scheduled post this morning - up and at it a bit sooner than I'd like to be really, but hope that bodes well for an early finish! If you're coming to the Crop at the weekend - we're looking forward to seeing you! Please welcome Marcie to your blogs will ya? She doesn't (yet) blog, but reads here regularly and that makes her a desker, donchafink?
Join in do....put WOYWW in your post title please, link here and we'll busy ourselves with a little visiting. Mine's without sugar, thanks.

  3. Morning, Julia. Can't believe I've made it this early - something must have gone wrong with my sleep pattern! But that's changing the clocks, for you, isn't it? Have a great time at the weekend - and your desk and lounge look just great - so encouraging. I really ought to tidy mine both up -,but....
    Have a good day.
    Take care.
    God bless.

  4. Hi Julia You sound as if you have had a lovely crafty time at the retreat and can look forward to more on Saturday! I wish we lived a bit closer. Maybe next year! I am on half term but still manage to be annoyingly awake at 6 o clock! Oh well, cup of tea in bed and a snoop around lots of lovely desks!

  6. I hate it when the clocks change in Autumn. Leaving home in the dark and not getting back 'til it's dark again, is very draining and I wake up far too early! Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

  7. Our clocks don't turn back until this weekend. But my body clock and the time clock are always out of sync after the change. I'm not playing again this week, but will be at the crop on Saturday in spirit, if nothing else!

  11. Hi Julia, I'm early today too. We are awaiting the arrival of a new washing machine (boring I hear you say) and this is the second time they were supposed to deliver so it had better happen or I shall start to get very cross Lol! Have a great crop on Saturday, wish I could be with you. Not long now till the NEC (Hobby Crafts for those who don't know what it's all about)so need to make some space ready for that too. Happy woyww, Angela x 14

  12. Morning Julia, I've still not put things away from my last run of workshops, it's all forming an unorderly queue on the floor.
Off to Argos now to pinch some more catalogues for next week's workshop - bookfolded christmas trees
Have a good time on Saturday

  16. Got the kettle on, no sugar noted but is it tea or coffee?
Ah, good to see someone else closes the door on weekend stuff not put away. perhaps you can leave some of it packed for this weekend - gosh, two weekend crops (ok this coming one is only a day but I bet you are busy with it all weekend). Wish I was coming - I know I keep saying "one day" but I will make it one time.
Have a wonderful time and lots of piccies please.

  17. I actually quite like the shorter days! We've already got our Christmas lights up - my son insisted they had to go up when the time changed. They turn the darkness magical! I don't do Christmas crafts, but I do fairy lights with abandon! Happy WOYWW, Julia!

  19. We haven't changed from Daylight Savings Time here in the States. It comes this weekend. I feel like I need to go to bed at 4:30 or 5 PM cause it is getting dark. No shame in not unpacking. I'm forever more just closing the door on my "stuff"

  20. I love the craft bag - it looks like a Lunch Lady Jan creation if I'm not mistaken? Lovely! I'm definitely not a fan of these darker evenings, I don't get nearly as much done. Hope you have a great week,

  21. I thought everyone changed their clock on the same day! I hate the darkness the time change brings as well. I often leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark, often missing seeing daylight at all! Your post gave me a good chuckle. Hope you will show those layout you created in a post. Would love to see them!

  22. Have you got all your stuff still packed? You might as well leave it until this weekend when, I understand, there is a crop.
I love you fabric tote. Did you make it or was it one of our fellow deskers...?
    Have a great week,

  23. We changed time last weekend too in the Netherlands, and it took me two days to adapt! I don't mind the early darkness though... now I can burn candles in the afternoon! It's my own 'winter-ritual' and makes me feel all warm and cosy... Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland. Marit #30 (Oh, and my blogpost turned out rather long today, sorry!)

  26. Every year the US spends a little bit longer on DST (except for 1976? when the entire year was spent on DST). So next Sunday I'll get back the hour that was stolen from me : D. I'm a morning person, so I like the earlier light. It recently occurred to me there are adults who have never experienced the gradual shifting of seasons for an entire year.

That is an impressive stack of completed layouts you have there. And one of LLJ's bags holding all those goodies? I agree with everyone who said why unpack if you are just going out again lol.

    Welcome Marcie : D.

  27. Hi Julia,
I hate when the time changes. We are going through that in a few weeks. I'll be coming to work in the dark and leaving in the dark.

Your desk looks organized in it's clutter!

    Happy WOYWW

  30. Oh Julia, we have to turn back the clocks this weekend and I am dreading, dreading, dreading. I prefer longer evenings over the early early sun! Oh well. I guess I have to put on my big girl panties and get through these next two months when it is dark at 5 p.m.! Sandy Leigh

  34. Hi Marcie :) let us know when you get your blog up and running. ( it really is a fun thing to see who all stopped by and what they notice about what you share.)
I am in my own head swamped with all the things I want to get done before the booth happens so, I am now in hurry up and stamp mode but, I have been taking photos and my post has lots of them.
PS I am glad to see I am not the only one who sometimes does not hurry to unpack all the loot and stash. :)

  40. Hello Julia, how wonderful you went to an art retreat with your friends. That's on my wish list too :) Now I do love Autumn and I don't mind an extra hour sleep during the clock change (we have it here in the Netherlands as well), but dark at 5 pm? Brrr. Wishing you a beautiful day!
