Welcome to WOYWW. We've nearly achieved SIX years of this nonsense, the anniversary is WOYWW 312 on 27th May. We are celebrating with a friendly, circular ATC swap, and newbie, regular, irregular, you are invited to join in. Here is a link to explain how.
And now, sweet Deskers, draw a breath and enjoy the wreckage that is my desk.
I almost don't know where to start. You can deduce by looking that I've been playing with spots and stripes. For a workshop on Thursday. Turns out it wasn't as easy to plan as I thought which is ridiculous. It also caused me to be incredibly messy. The light is weird in the early morning; everything looks more blue than it really is. Except the purple patchwork card at left with which I've actually managed to make a whole card! It's balancing on top of my stash box of gems which I had finished with. And as you can see, I've got four ink pads on the go...three of which I'm not planning to use. Lots of abandoned stamps. Just falling off the tin of sponges is an attempt to stamp a whole card in three colours of stripe. Fail. Wrong colours, not looking as I thought it would, blah blah. I'm not sure I am actually capable of working tidily any more! I'll bore you with the cards after the workshop, of that I am sure.
The WOYWW Crop is this weekend. If you've been humming and hawing about whether or not to come...do come. We need to know you're coming for all sorts of reasons involving food, but it's not hard to let me know. You can read about it HERE and I'll fill you in with other info if you ask for it. I guarantee that you'll really enjoy meeting some of the Deskers. It's the safest and nicest way to meet strangers from the Internet! And there's cake.
Meanwhile, please, link up here to show us what's going on at your desk. As usual, please put WOYWW in your post title so we can find you easily over the next few days. It take *some* of us that long to get to your door.
Love all the purple. Can't wait for the crop and seeing people again. I do hope any last minute wafflers will opt for a YES and we can all chat , craft, and eat cake till we burst. Such fun every year. See you then!

Love your desk Julia, it cracked me up this week. I like the chaos sometimes. I am sad I can't be at the crop, but my Ma will be here and Hubby and I are taking her to Atlantic City for the weekend! Cx #3

ReplyDeleteYes, that purple tinge is rather odd, isn't it :)
ReplyDeleteI do like that big spotty stamp in the middle. So versatile!

I think I'm seeing spots and stripes before my eyes, or maybe it's just your desk. From workshop to crop, do you ever slow down?
ReplyDeleteMorning, Julia. Spots and stripes before the eyes this morning - trust you get all sorted before the workshop! Hope it goes well. Have a tremendous day on Saturday at the crop - had hoped I might get there this year - but no.. just not possible at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Julia - you can certainly see you've been busy, with lots of gear about on your desk....how do we sometimes work in such a small space - I was so glad when my friend offered me my big wooden desk - ample space for working and debris and also I find that now I have my work pad that space stays pretty much for what I'm working on. Have a fabulous time at the Crop - wish I had loads of money I'd fly over and join in. Say to everyone from us in Australia RobynO#15
ReplyDeleteWowzers that's one busy desk today. You should get our ATCs for the crop soon Julia. I really hope you all have a wonderful time....and that we can join you there some time [just not this year!].
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
That is a spectacular desk today! Love the madness of it all :-)
ReplyDeleteAm looking forward to Saturday very much, better go get some ingredients though......watch out, shoppers at Tesco...I'm on my way!!
Hugs, LLJ 18 xxx
Crazy busy desk there Julia - love that little patchwork piece. Thanks for the email - glad they arrived safely. x Jo
ReplyDeleteYour desk is busy and that spotty back ground stamp looks good.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Saturday. I believe Julia is brining her Big Shot so I will bring my latest die and a couple of embossing folders in case anyone would like to borrow them on the day.
Kyla
Love your chaotic desk, Julia. Shows industry, lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time at the crop, I so wish I could be there...one day.
Hugs Lisa #25
Hello Lovely Lady!! I see no mess. I just see a busy desk and something I truly recognise.
ReplyDeleteI AM coming Saturday!!!
Hugs
xx
The complete opposit of mine today - I wish I had done more this week! Looks like you have had loads of fun trying stuff out- it doesnt even matter if it works or not - its the playing that counts :)
ReplyDeleteWill be back after work to look at every one elses desk.
I've always loved the song the late Eddie Rabbit sang.."I love a rainy night"...the tune and I call it I love a messy desk. Sometime will have to create a few more lines of verse.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost magical to work thru a desk like that and mine is usually this way. I just don't understand it.
But I like your colors. Wishing you and the croppers LOTS of fun. I just started my ATC's so I'll be prepared for a few exchanges. ENJOY the friendship and laughter.
So glad there's going to be cake ;-). Biggest decision is, what on earth am I going to bring to do?
ReplyDeleteWOW you really have been busy.
ReplyDeleteI love looking through jumbled desks because you never know what you will see.
Organized chaos is such a wonderful saying don't you think ? LOL
Your desk is the complete opposite of mine as I am now all packed and ready for Saturday! Can't wait to see you all again! Love Debbie xXx
ReplyDeleteOK.. your desk looks like you are actually making stuff while mine is so tidy it is obvious I am waffling about making stuff!! LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat to be back in the woyww saddle...
I am truly sad that I cannot make Saturday. Since Anne Redfern introduced me to this wonderful family of friends it has been a fantastic experience. I never thought I would enjoy blogging so much. Thanks to you all and have a lovely day. Angela x 34
ReplyDeleteYour desk is a busy place! I love that purple patchwork pattern, so pretty! Lyns x
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow your desk looks so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteYes, your desk is quite busy this week! Love all the things you have out and been working with. Can't wait to see the finished product! Glenda #39

Eat some cake for me! I procrastinated too long, worrying about my stuff being too plain and missed the mailing deadline for the crop. Will have to send from here. Made 16 so will want to get them all out. Have fun Saturday!
ReplyDeletePurple, Purple....loving it, my favourite colour:)
ReplyDeleteHop you have a lovely day. Sue
It looks like you have been busy, Julia. :) I, on the other hand, have been busier outside this week doing my planting. Wish I could join you all at the crop. Sounds like it will be a blast! Will you post photos? Have a good week. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry --- my # is 45. I'm so bad at that!
ReplyDeleteGoodness! You are one busy girl. You put me to shame. Thank you for your newbie message. I know I shall enjoy joining in.
ReplyDeleteP x
Loving the mess this week! I'd fit right in at that desk! So looking forward to Saturday I'll probably be deflated when I actually get there and realise I have nothing to do. Must sort myself out! Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteOh my, what is blogger doing? It is becoming harder and harder to leave a comment here girl, what's all this about choosing ice cream? I thought it was an ad and tried to leave but it was insistent. NEVER seen that before! and after all that palaver you still have to ask to publish the comment (a box you can't see until you scroll down!).
ReplyDeleteI like that the light has turned your desk in to a symphony of blues and purples, Hope the workshop goes like a dream after all that preparation. And the Crop ... what can I say, another year gone and I still haven't made it down again :( However, I wish you and everyone there a fabulous time and a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteAm loving your desk, those spots are fabulous and I can see what fun you had there. I'm giddy with excitement to see you all on Saturday. I'm behaving myself and doing as I'm told and resting up and sleeping as much as I can! Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteI really wish I could attend the crop and meet everyone, maybe one year we'll be in England.
ReplyDeleteJan no 45
You have a very busy work desk xx Jan
ReplyDeleteLove those colours on your desk! I AM now officially excited about Saturday! We are coming down for a look around the area again - Winchester we think…not sure yet! See you soon! Chrisx 55
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, just realised I hadn't commented! Love that spotty stamp at the back-how useful is that? Thats a real crafters desk, that is. Barely a square inch left to work in. You should be proud of yourself, rofl. See you Saturday, Love & Hugs, Shaz xx
ReplyDeleteAs of #56 I commented on everyone.
ReplyDeleteWoooooohooooo go me.
Ok now to get some actual work done before some else links up LOL
Oh how I have missed you guys and of course thank you Julia for keeping it going for so long.
You'll have to move closer to me for the next one lol
Have fun at the crop this weekend and eat a piece of cake for me. I wish i could be there but there is a long expensive flight involved. <3 Shel @ PaperOcotilloStudio #48
ReplyDeleteYour desk is looking gloriously crafty this week : D. Have a splendid time at the Crop, we want all the details. Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun and luscious view of your desk and craftiness today! I don't even know how long I've been participating in this glorious "nonsense" but I love it, and I guess only laser eye surgery could have kept me away the past couple of weeks! I'm recovering and hopefully eye is healing now, and I'm giving it a go today. Hugs! Sandy Leigh
ReplyDeletedid someone say cake??? Wow Julia I know what you mean about the cluttered desk thing. Mine just threw up all over the place this week. Now how ab out that cake?
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd stop by to see what you're up to. Lots of fun and creativity!
One of these days I'll make it to the WOYWW crop. It's on my bucket list!!
Hugs,
Kay
What is it about morning light that's so blue? Mine was looking similar when I snapped a shot this morning (still working on editing my post). I'm loving the stripes and spots! Oh, and that tin of sponges is a great idea!! I keep throwing sponges away and feel like it's such a waste. Now to find a good tin to store them. Thanks for the idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI rather like that quilt effect in the purple colours x
ReplyDeletei think your desk looks fine!! I wish I could sit and examine everything closely...like that striped piece..that is stamped? You may not like the colors, but I think it's pretty cool...did you use markers to ink the stamp?
ReplyDeletetesting...wanna see about the ice cream thing that Cindy mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazed that the projects I think are going to be easy turn out tricky, and the ones I think will be a struggle go smoothly.
ReplyDeleteMy theory about that is that we put more time into thinking about the ones we think will be harder, and thus they go better.
Your desk just shows a very creative and busy mind!
Happy creating and happy woyww,
Sandy #30
I takes all the fun out of things if you have to work tidily - you need to have as much stuff out as possible to get inspired!!
ReplyDeleteBernice #62
Dots and stripes...what fun! Love the purple patchwork stuff. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI do not know where I was the past few weeks but is a relief to find your desk in it's current state or I might have thought I was lost. Just as soon as I catch up something happens or we go on a trip and now days it's not art on the road but controlling flying, leaping and other wise crazy cats.
ReplyDeleteI managed to read your post on the road while holding off a cat who thinks she is a hacker!
Monica 57
I posted late, but am here for first time in several weeks! Are you talking about me? It takes me several days to get around. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou balance things on your desk like I do. Sometimes it all falls down on the floor too! Happy WOYWW! #65
Gosh Julia, haven't seen your desk looking that busy in a while. Lots going on there - look forward to seeing the resulting cards.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
That's not mess Julia it is crafting fun something at least is getting done, this is a good thing. I hope the crop goes well you should have people beating down the door to get to LLJ,s food.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have fun
Happy crafting
Hugs Eliza & Yoda
Oh my! Your desk is REALLY busy. I hope you have an absolute fabulous time at the crop. I'm envious! I would join in on the ATC swap but I have one I'm needing to get started and done within 2 weeks! Ouch. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCarol N #53
I tried several times to post a comment yesterday but, the "prove you are not a robot opened up a photo of a steak and then a bunch of food photos and it said click on the matching photo ( of the steak) which I did ... but, then it informed me I did not choose enough choices... so, if anyone knows how to get rid of that??
ReplyDeletePS I looks like you are having a blast in your space Julia :)
I'm intrigued by your background stamps...the stripes, dots and mesh all look nice, but I can imagine doing several colours on one card might be more difficult than it sounds. If I had such a box of inky blending foams I'd never find what I need and always smudge my projects with my fingers... I'm glad I started crafting when the mini DI pads were out, the mini blending foams fit underneath them (and I figured that out on my own before watching the video where TH himself shows it of :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated woyww, thanks for the visit...made me realize I hadn't stopped by here!
