What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 234

..and in the blink of an eye, we're back!  Now then, gentle Desker, this is especially for those of you who tell me that you don't like to actually photograph your desk because it was too untidy...huh?
It doesn't look too bad, does it.  This taken in the glum daylight of Tuesday afternoon.  It is relatively untouched since, and will remain so until this afternoon...apparently, I have real work to do.  But then...it might gve me time to work out exactly what I'm doing with the part finished card you see in the middle.  If I remove the basket from the shot and alter my angle a bit, you can really see how much is going on!

It looks as bad as it is.  Unfinished cards, remnants of wrapping paper, the tin of sponges for the Distress Inks (which aren't actually in use on this particular work in progress), a small card at the back which I've discarded...it looks like a Christmas tree stuck on a car tax disc.  No, it really does.  If you aren't in Britain, please just take my word for it!

So there y'are, you can see what my immediate future plan is.  Time to share your own crafty future with us.  Post a pic of your work surface on your blog, put WOYWW in the title and link here please.  Eventually, we'll visit.  More a threat than a promise!

  2. It's still red and white, but at least now I can see that it's Christmas and not Valentine's Day. I like the little trees, but the car tax thing made me laugh. You'll get there, you always do.

  3. Hi Julia, Your desk looks fine. Suitably creative. This is probably the week for cards. As for not showing one's desk if it is too messy ... well I can't see the point of showing off a tidy desk with nothing happening, which is why I have been absent :)

  4. Excited to see your post is up, now I can go to bed and forget the Scheduling for mine to appear. I love your little polka dot trees. Glad to see your stacks, piles and fun. Have a lovely WOYWW and I would love to have your natural light.

  5. Julia,

How come your desk always looks artsy and beautiful (even "in progress" and mine always looks such a mess?)

Happy WOYWW from #5 I think!

  9. Well I am definitely not in Britain...so I will take your word for it...but I do love seeing all that wonderful card making and those little red Christmas trees are adorable! This is the week I'll finally get to my Christmas cards. We have a thing called "Black Friday" the day after Thanksgiving with crazy shopping hours and enormous sales, so I hope to score some fab Christmas papers and things. Hugs dear crafty friend! 10. We ALL have messy desks once we get full into Christmas. I always have more little bits and bobs and new goodies than I have cards to put them on, so it's like an ongoing game of Whack-a-Mole picking up and putting down! In any case, all our desks look truly festive when they are wearing their Christmas papers and ribbons!! And yours is very festive, indeed, Julia!

Have a great week and don't be mad that I posted early, pretty please with sugar on it! Hugs, Darnell #17

  11. Creating in process! Love the little polka dot trees. Car tax sticker, huh? Is that why it is being discarded, reminds you of the tax?! :)) Oh darling birdies on the tag over on the iPad chair! WOYWW hugs! Nan G #21

  14. When I first saw your second photo I thought you had a huge tin of licorice allsorts but it's just sponges, talk about a let down. Love your little trees and that white paper with the numbers but most of all I love seeing your messy desk. Things just wouldn't be right with a tidy desk.
    Have a great week,

  16. your desk always looks good even when untidy!...there is always lots of interesting things to see... like the cute tag on the stand that round stamp with hearts and swirls to the left even the box of sponges looks cool . I love that embossing folder you've used and your right it does look like a tax disk tee hee. The little Christmas tress are sweet and I love the red Dotty ones.Your photos aren't dull in fact it looks quite bright and sunny and compared to my very dull photos taken in the dark earlier(I did put the light on or they would have been even less boring photos!).Happy WOYWW and hope you have a great week, thanks for being an outstanding host again.crafty hugs Andrea x

  22. Untidy looks better on a desk than the floor... I like the card you've rejected, it looks fine to me, and I really like those red trees. Have a great day, hope the "real work" doesn't get in the way for too long. Helen (who didn't get up in the middle of the night to link this week) #34

  25. How funny....we must all be our own worst critics. I like the little tree in back. i liked the red tree in the basket shot, but now that I can see the gorgeous embossing on the card in progress, I REALLY like that. Such a fun time of year to make cards. And I think it's just that time of year for messy desks. It occurred to me today I should probably take a picture of my table across the room that accumulates everything...maybe next week. Enjoy your days.

  31. Happy WOYWW. Yes, it does look like a Xmas Tree on a tax disc!! I am missing making Xmas cards after seeing your pictures - but at least now I can make time for getting on with scrapbooking and my sewing machine - and I will have lots of crafty stash to sell now. More money to pay off the credit card (or buy fabric to use on the sewing machine!). Ali x #49

  37. Now, Julia, I have to be honest...when I first glanced at your desk something really stood out and I thought, 'What is that tax disc doing on Julia's desk?' On closer inspection I realized that this is a really pretty card. I have a headache, you see and I wasn't wearing my specs as I should have been! So I suppose at first, yes, it does look like a tax disc, but it's far prettier! I love all the festive busyness on your desk and it doesn't look that messy to me - just fun. Who said looking at 'tidy' is good for the soul - it just makes me envious? Julie Ann xx
