This digi image came as a gift from Nikki and I love it.
Although I have to get some decent paper to print it on, this regular copier paper makes the Copics bleed horribly! Anyway, I couldn't resist using her, bleeding or not! I have a handful of stamps that perfectly match Madison's expression too, so there'll be more of her!
That wide-eyed, slightly wild look is appropriate too as I thank you for all your comments and input yesterday. Steph and Dori are really grateful; but in total overload and it's my guess that it'll take a couple more committee meetings before they can announce!
Here's me alpha inchies too - stuck to the cover of yet another notebook..I'll probably get round to using this in about 2015 - if I use them up in order of acquisition! Lots of us started as stationery junkies I know - a way to be in touch with that whole paper/colour/create thing that lurks within before you stumble across what it is that makes your mojo tick. I started with stitching, but rarely do any now. Since I aged and have to wear glasses (especially at night) for the close work, I doubt if I'll hurry back to any sort of stitching in front of the telly. Of course, if I'd persevered, I could by now be knitting up a storm - there are a few evenings when I don't want to sit at my desk in pretend light, but sitting in front of the tv with nothing else to do makes me fidget and get cross! I can knit (badly) but not without looking (much like my typing!) and so I'm at a bit of a loss....what do you do? What would you recommend for me? A nap, and get over it, probably!
Wish I had a good suggestion for you Julia but I don't watch much tv. And when I do I am usually holding the grand baby so my hands are rather busy. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the inchies. Have never tried to work with anything that small lol
I'm no better in the suggestions area. if I still still too long in front of the telly I tend to fall alseep. Thankfully my desk is at an angle to the telly so i can craft and watch :) I too started crafting with cross stitch although it's been a good nine years since i did any. paper crafts have always been a love ever since my uncle would bring home massive boxes and a rolls of DST for me to build houses and space rockets with :) well I was ablout five at the time!
ReplyDeleteSorry Julia, no suggestions from me either (aren't we a dull lot?)however I do love that sentiment (may have to steal it for a certain image I have in mind)
ReplyDeleteI have to confess that these days I'm ready to just watch TV in the evenings, especially if I've been crafting all day as my eyes ache by then. Don't get me started on deteriorating eyesight for goodness sake, it's my major bugbear these days!! (well, that and the aching joints, trouble hearing, lack of memory...you get the idea!)
Hey girls, just to let ya all know, Dori and I have gone back to the beginning with our name. So watch this space. LOVE that expression, 'take a nap' totally agree on that one.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm with you on the glasses, got new ones and my first pair for my eyes! Thats being over 40 for you! I find I fidget when watching TV so either craft and watch it in background or knit, but become obessed with knitting so that's not good either... So no solutions there!!
ReplyDeleteuhm - i have to wear my glasses and maginifiers attached to stitch - I look like a surgeon LOL! Love this card and that sentiment - fab
ReplyDeleteLinbyx
LOL, I was a total stationery junkie as a child... played post offices and all sorts!!
ReplyDeleteI find most of what is on TV rubbish so would rather be scrapping.... but then that is Saudi TV and not much to watch!!
Love the card and sentiment in the previous post!! Oh and you desk was waaaay tooo tidy to be yours this week!!
I can't sit still to watch tv either, takes a huge amount of effort to go to the cinema without my knitting! I do everything in front of the tv, ok not everything I draw the line at doing somethings in front of Emmerdale... lol... Back on track, yes I do have a point here somewhere, I rarely 'watch' anything, I just listen. Over the years I have turned into that annoying person who keeps asking ' what happened there' so much so him indoors doesn't watch films with me anymore lol
ReplyDeleteThe inchies are looking Fab Julia - I spotted the F there on the end - so pleased you're joining in.
ReplyDeletelove the card...and the sentiment is sooo apt for me!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, a nice afternoon nap is just the ticket...as for stationary junkies..yep, that was me...and still is...I cannot pass a Staples without spending at least £30 on boxes and paper and pencils and rubbers and highlighters and stuff...mental I know but it helps ROFL xx
ReplyDeleteOh that Matilda! I thought you'd had a nasty comment from someone threatening bodily harm :-/
ReplyDeleteShe's great ;) I konw what you mean about getting some decent paper for printing - I often have to print greetings out as DD always wants something specific usually 'special ........' whatever. You could try knitting scarfs with fancy yarn and large needles then you only need do garter stitch and they knit up very quickly - though I have to admit with the fancy yarn you still have to keep an eye on what you're doing 'cos the needles can get tangled up in it! LOL

ReplyDeletelove it

Oh Julia I love your Card and that sentiment just fit's it so amazing to
ReplyDeleteGlad your enjoying Madison and maybe I'll finish her sisters :)
hugs Nikki
ooh i do like the inchies on journals idea :) i never know what to do with mine!
ReplyDeleteThat image together with that sentiment is soooo funny - and would go down a storm with my colleagues - but would me more appropriate to sent to my sister.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I tent to cut and snip decoupage when i'm in front of TV, which is not often because i'm usually on here - well since i started blogging in January anyway.
Just to let you all know in case you weren't aware - Tesco do a ream of 'Tesco finest' paper which is 120gsm and is super smooth and at less that £4 per ream... i have used this ever since I discovered it and is probably the same stuff that C&C sell for £11.99 as their super smooth decoupage/printing paper. Its also excellent for printing your backing papers onto and good for stamping on too.

I love the card, have you tried Journaling? it's great fun to do while watching tv and it uses some of the books we all collect.
ReplyDeleteJust spied Madison the axe girl again on links and since then I've also used her from Niki as a DT Card, and I'd forgotten all about making her into a door plaque! Love your card especially the font, or though now I'm thinking I have a font with dripping blood that might be good too!
