Lol! I can't wear those off-the-shelf glasses because I've got astigmatism and they give me a headache. I have varifocals and if I want to do really close stuff I've got a pair of magnifying prescription glasses (about +4, I think) and I can't see much beyond the end of my nose with those! I used to work on 28 count evenweave fabric in the old days (without glasses!!) but now 18 is the finest I can manage. I enjoy cross stitch and have new software for designing it but haven't tried it out yet. Thank you for your comment - I agree that cooking is really creative, but I really do need to get into the studio as I've got a project to make with a very short deadline (next Thurs!). At least it's a bit cooler now.

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #38Shoshihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00028185699225457125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-218645565952627143.post-651044907623104542018-07-29T10:45:58.422+01:002018-07-29T10:45:58.422+01:00Yes, reading glasses double up nicely as hair band...Yes, reading glasses double up nicely as hair bands! I never had to wear glasses until just a few years ago but now I can't see anything close up without them and I find it so inconvenient, but I'm getting used to them. Hope you've had some relief from the heat - it's lovely and cool here now, but it won't last long. Thanks for your visit on Wednesday, Julia! My garden is mostly brown, but I am still enjoying al fresco crafting in the cool of the evening. Love the look of those hares - there's nothing like a bit of therapeutic colouring, so it's never for no reason. Cross stitch was my business and hobby for many years (I had an online shop plus market stalls, and did a stitching service for people who had unfinished projects), but I totally lost the stitchy bug about 9 years ago. Hardly lifted a needle since. It is cooler in Pembrokeshire, but still sunny and warm (about 21 degrees). I would be outside gardening, but have overdone it in the past week and my body has said 'no'. I hate looking out of the window and seeing the weeds growing.
