What’s on your Workdesk? Wednesday 561

Gosh, I need to dust off the cobwebs! it’s been a week already and although I can account for it, it went far too fast. It must be the same for you as well. Please don’t disabuse me of this if it’s not the case. Someone will blame my age, or weight, or my ability to time travel. Whatever. So, the desk......Taken last night. After a looong session of making cards for a workshop. I enjoyed it. But really, it took rather too much longer than it should have. But it was warm and bright sitting in the big window and Mr Dunnit was working at the kitchen end, so we were sort of together. He was huffing from effort and I was puffing from erm, inspirational exertion. He made and fitted worktops.
Makes me swoon. I can’t compete really, but I was sort of pleased with the cards. Here’s one, to show Oxides off without being scared grungy.
So, exciting for me, productive for me. Quite a good week then! A day in the life of a desk, who knew it could be so satisfying! let me and the others in on yours will ya, promise I only judge my own! Put WOYWW in your post title and link it here. Easy. Immensley easy and oh so satisfying. Apparently.

  4. I’ve not actually been at my own desk as at someone else’s in the form of a glass mosaic workshop in a local art gallery.
I think it still counts though

  8. I echo Annie's comment, your hubby is one talented guy. What a beautiful finish on your worktop. Looking forward to seeing the end product (not as much as you though `I guess)
Good to see those crazy birds still in action. I love them and used one, think it was the same one you used, on my Christmas cards. You can do so much with them and they are suitable for all occasions. Was that Scattered Straw you used? Nice background, love the effect you got.
Take care and have a good week.
    Hugs, Neet 8 xx

  9. Great card, Julia. I .love the limited palette and the text in the background, and the quirky little bird! The white die-cut sentiment really stands out. As for your kitchen, well, what can one say? That worktop is a dream... The finish is incredible. Can’t wait to see the whole kitchen completed, and in the meantime I hope you are managing to cope without a kitchen!

  15. Thank you for your visit, Julia. I'm so glad you liked my Celtic knots, and in particular the one I disliked!! Now I'm really glad I included it, and didn't ditch it. Everyone's taste is different! I like to include my mistakes because a) it helps others and b) it reminds me of my learning curve. I am glad you've got an alternative kitchen. That makes a huge difference. Using camping stoves is NOT fun lol! Your hubby is so talented, creating a finish like that, and I can't wait to see further progress and the final result. I bet you can't wait to move in and start using it! It's obviously going to take time because it has to be fitted in with regular work.

  31. Firstly I grovel for forgiveness for this late reply ... I did get back to all my lovely visitors only to find not one message had posted! Am back on the old trusty laptop and really must look into the bloggy-app thing you mention because it would be so much easier if I could leave comments via my ipad.
I have SERIOUS worktop envy!!!! That has to be the most beautifully stunning worktop I have ever seen - really looking forward to seeing your finished kitchen. Much love to you my dearest. Debbie xXx
