What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 541

Well hello whizz day! This week has been even shorter for me, we ran away for the weekend and left the plumber and his mate to take up floors, drain down the system and connect new heating areas into existing systems. I can’t tell you how nice it was to be out of the house! It means however, that I’m behind with stuff. Nothing major, but my desk shows a hybrid of work and play. Ignore the ledger, that’s boring. The shapes on the iPad stand are Quietfire Design pouch gift bags that I cut out on Monday morning and haven’t got any further with - the trial is on the drawers, really sweet, isn’t it. The plastic files that are still in their packet are flap-closure plastic sleeves which I thought would be very useful for my latest problem. I’m doing a lot more scrapbooking these days and I find having the 6x6 or 8x10 paper pad version of a collection I really like is a very useful tool for layering, and doing that mis-matched-matchy thing. But I like to keep scraps together rather than in my ‘general’ patterned scraps folder, so I will be trying to do just that with these files. Ask me again in a few weeks. So come on then, show me how much more successful your work areas are looking, I honestly could do with a push back into getting it all done! Please put WOYWW in your blog post title and link it here. Marvellous.

  2. back again. I think you did very well escaping the house whilst all that mayhem was going on, even if it means you are playing catch up. Good luck with your scraps system! sounds good to me.

  4. What a surprise to see you here early. I had just been getting my post ready and went to do the link when I became all befuddled - doesn't take much. Ah well, glad you ran away at the weekend, hope it did you both a power of good and you are now ready to face the next phase of what is thrown at you.

  6. Evening Julia, I too thought I was going mad.. I've been away too, early Bday & belated meet up with friends. Good to hear you treated yourselves to a get away, it's not nice living amongst the commotion of it all. Hope you are now a few more steps to getting it finished?

  8. Morning Julia. Do trust the mayhem and chaos means you now have lovely working heating in your new spaces now it is getting cooler!! I find your desk re-assuring - so many different things needing doing - so little time. Was it the white rabbit who said something similar?? No idea. Oh well.
Take care dear girl. God bless.

  9. Sounds like we weren’t the only ones escaping for the weekend. It does us good to recharge the batteries doesn’t it? Hope your weekend wasn’t as wet as ours.

  10. I’m with you Julia, way behind on things and I haven’t even been away! Also in agreement re keeping snippets of DP together and I use a similar system in a donated file cabinet. Works ... may not be pretty when open drawer, but that’s ok.

Yes the wee gift baggie is very lovely, you’re like me lots on the go and that ledger like seriously lots of work!
I’m hopeful of being better blogger this week, the wheel fell off last week.

Very glad you had a much needed break though with Mr Dunnit, away from building detritus.
Happy WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #10

  17. Morning!! Glad you managed to avoid some of the 'big' work there. I was away last week as well, just for 4 days but came back to so much chaos, washing and generally being behind the benefits have gone already. I am so over this rain!! Have a happy Wednesday, hope you are fully back in the groove soon.!

  19. I really understand that getting away is about the only way to refresh and dream that all will be organized and back to normal soon. 2 weeks of paper work for mom about did me in, now it's updating computers, nothing seems simple. Wishing you an enjoyable transition all week. Happy WOYWW

  20. Happy WOYWW. I have managed to log into Wordpress, so hopefully I can now continue with my regular posts. A lot more going on your desk than mine. Plenty that I want to do, but definitely not enough hours in the day (or energy). At least I am going to craft workshops (not just an excuse to eat cake) and I have plans for projects. That is a start. Ali x #20

  24. Sometimes I seem to do more sorting and tidying than crafting :) It's good when it's done though. I usually keep different sized pads in different places, so I end up searching all over the place!

  25. Happy Thursday, Julia! Ka sheet protector works great to keep the scraps with the rest of the paper pad! Not too active here. Still reeling from the loss of our Walter. Then I’ve been on antibiotics for 10 days, and then Mike fell down the stairs! No broken bones but he can barely move or breathe. Glad you had a break!

  27. Afternoon Julia, back after having a chest x-ray, and starting to catch up. If we get plagues of frogs and other weirdness, it's my fault. we stopped t Tesco on the waay back and I got a crazy craving for fruit- this never happens, I hate fruit with a passion, lol. My DIL will never believe I willingly bought and actually ate fruit. Love those gift bags, lovely idea for Christmas. I still have a mountain of sorting and tidying to do, just need a mountain of energy to tackle it, lol. Love & Hugs, Shaz #5 XxXx
