What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 538

Seriously, this marking of a mid week seems to hasten the weekends which hastens the midweek - who can I blame?
Here it is taken in the gloom - it is untouched since Monday evening. And the reason for that is  - well obviously I didn’t clear up, but yesterday was spent with our Margaret! Her travels brought her to Gloucestershire so we each travelled and a little and met in north Wiltshire. At a Garden Centre which was a shopping experience of gifts and clothes. We didnt actually step out to look at the plants - oh my, the rain! We talked and talked and talked. Her ‘sabbatical’ draws to a close at the end of this week and so we shall see her when she’s caught her breath. I am really looking forward to the diary and photos.
I was wrangling with a Christmas card at the table, and top right, using my lovely WOYWW gift from Annie to make notes because this is Card Marathon season and I need to know which ingredients I’ve used for each card so as to avoid the need to buy doubles!  Anyhoo dear Desker, share your current space please, it’s time for a large coffee and a browse. Please put WOYWW in your post title and link here as always. I seriously thank you.

  1. Morning - as I write we are in another downpour, I hope it stops before I have to leave for the bus to work.... Glad you had a good chat (ahem) with Margaret and she is enjoying her latest trip. Your desk is as productive as mine... will try harder next week!!

  3. Morning Julia, I’m just about recovered from a three day festival of country music in Blackpool. Neither country music or Blackpool are my thing but sometimes needs must and if it means the hubby enjoyed his 70th birthday I can go along with that haha.

  4. That lovely Margaret certainly gets about the country doesn't she. So nice for you to meet up and enjoy a good chat. Lots of rain here too but no floods thankfully. Enjoy your crafty activity when you can. It's Ben's afternoon for me today - school pick up and tea. xx Jo

  6. Yes it's raining here again today. The garden centre sounds just my sort of thing and I'm sure you will have had a great time despite the rain. Have a lovely creative week (hopefully) and a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

  7. Good Morning!! Where has all the sunshine gone? The garden needs rain but I don't. Indeed yes card marathon season, this is the time when I realise that I didn't get quite as much done in January as I thought I had.... and yes the weeks go so fast! I'm not sure who's to blame, hink it just gets worse as you get older! Happy WOYWW Cindy #15

  12. What is this rain you speak of? We are in a drought condition in my state and everything is very brown right now. Leaves are beginning to fall from all the dry conditions. I think it is so nice you are able to meet with fellow deskers ... it makes me wish I lived much closer! LOL...Good luck with your C cards. I am on again and off again with mine!

  13. Not only do weeks fly by but, a whole month can evaporate in a blink of an eye. Lovely to be back and see that some things remain comfortingly familiar,

  14. How lovely for you and Margaret to get together again. Garden centres, I find, make great meeting places. As for who to blame for Whizzdays - I blame the first person, back in the annuls of time, to dream up the idea that a day is only 24 hours long! Hoping to be back next week - computer allowing. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  15. Hi Julia, I like the lacy/sparkly layer on that card on the stand :) ooh how fun that you were within driving distance of getting a hug in person from Margaret. :)
we actually had some sunshine here yesterday and holy moly they are calling for snow next weekend at about 500 feet up in elevation from my house, so we will probably lose the garden then and a lot of time has been spent picking things this week.

  19. Gorgeous weather in southeastern North Carolina. I took time from my nap, because I didn't get my pictures taken early this morning before I went to bed. Maybe I can power through.

  22. Even though you haven't been at your table it still shows use!
I will be starting my Christmas cards next month.
We had over 2" of rain yesterday and some flooding on our road. Today has been threatening but nothing developed.... yet.
Sounds like you had a nice visit!
    Catch you next week!

  23. Like you I feel the days are passing quickly and only this morning I said to myself 'are there still 7 days in a week'? Need to make some more C cards as I've sold most of what I made - and folk say people don't send C cards anymore. Have a good week. Ani #5

  25. Hi Julia! Thanks for your visit! As for your question about the magnetic plate - it really made a difference for me as it just wasn't cutting all the little pieces through without it. That said, my cutting plates are a bit warped, and I have to fix them or get new ones, and that might have been part of my problem, because even with the magnetic plate I was having to cut over and over in some spots. I think with flat plates and the magnetic plate, it should cut perfectly the first time. Have a great week! Lindart #23
