What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 524

The thing about having a proper space - desk in my case - on which to work is that anything vaguely related to my hobby is put on it. And if I’m not there to oversee it, it really gets a little out of hand. The neat-ish piles that I create and curate become a bit messed up, and my latest treasures are looked through and examined. It’s fascinating to me, because apparently, no one else in the house is interested in my hobby or the stuff that’s on my desk. Hmm, ok.
So we’re home from a lovely holiday, lots of sunshine. I’m afraid the light in my work room is not as I’d like in on a June morning. But at least I get desk time today. I bought some new pages for my ATC storage whilst in Spain, so over coffee later I’m going to go through the Anniversary ATCs again so that I can start to file them. A complicated process because I don’t like to put similar colours together, similar techniques, etc. Gives me a lot longer to admire and examine, see.
So clearly, my plan for today is to tidy. What’s yours? Do tell and show. Write yourself a blog post featuring your desk or work area...put WOYWW in the post title. Publish your post and then come over here and link it. Great. Thanks.

Glad you've dosed up on vitamin D in sunny Spain - we won't be seeing much sun in the UK this week...
I've gone rogue today, no desk shot, but I hope you'll forgive me :)
Happy WOYWW!

Enjoy your time today. It's a bit fun to play around rearranging etc. Peace and Quiet we all need. Your vacation spot looks so inviting. It's to be a rainy week again, but not complaining, I've lots to do inside. Happy WOYWW

What a shame you had to leave the sunshine behind. Never mind, the sorting out of the atc's should prove a sunny affair so just enjoy the time spent.

Hi dear Julia,
Ah, yes my desk was like that two days ago, then cleaned and sorted a bit yest in vain I hope might’ve started a card which I didn’t. Your piles look very interesting, for example no idea what that white item at front is, recognise a SU punch,... AND I am interested unlike the other members of the house.
It’s funny how we don’t quite reach them with the wonders of it despite our great enthusiasm to impart at times.
Saw on Insta the hols went well, and am so glad, I pray the relaxed feel remains. I had an ATC sent for you (and others) on 16th May to Jo’s but it hasn’t made that I know of yet. It’s such a shame, didn’t photograph any in such hurry to get them there.

Happy WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #6

You’ve come back to some wet weather I’m sorry to say. Still sorting out your new stuff will keep you inside I guess.
I’ve got the decorator in so I’m giving it all a good coat of looking at. We’ve not been done for 12 years so it’s like being in a new house with the new wallpapers
Have a good day Julia.

Well my friend you’ve not brought home much sunshine with you. I’m in need of summer now....it’s so cold and gloomy here. Guess it really doesn’t matter when I’m in my sewing room and busy but a bit of sunshine would be nice.
Hugs,

Hi Julia, Glad you had a nice holiday.

Hope you get your ATCs sorted. As you know I am a neat freak, so don't need to tidy:) I'm going with the flow today.

Hi Julia. Pleased you had a nice time. We're off to the Lincolnshire show today but no idea what the weather will be like but it's okay at the moment in as far as it's not raining yet. You just have a nice time playing at your desk and take it easy. Happy woyww, Angela x15x

Welcome home, Julia. I am so glad you had such a nice holiday in the sun. You are right - the lack of sun is not what we expect here in June! I’m regretting my usual end-of-May winter woollies washing session - it’s been really cold. My desk is like yours and becomes a general dumping ground for anything even vaguely related to its proper purpose. Looking for stuff for my project the other day made me look afresh at my whole studio, which I have to say is a total tip. I need to spend serious time in there, tidying up!

Hi Julia. Would love some of that sunshine! I'm off to make a card, well tags with my lady- still just the one. Need to rethink it all. Centre closes for the summer so will give me chance to plan! Good luck sorting! X

Afraid the light you dislike on this June morning is perfect for me - well, maybe a little brighter wouldn't go amiss but I am not fond of blue skies at all - can just about tolerate them when sprinkled with fluffy-wuffy clouds but then I think back to last June and that heat and will stick with my grey sky and muted light!
Am sure you have a workdesk under there somewhere! My downfall is putting stuff into the cupboard to "deal with later" .. later arrives only when it all comes toppling out again! Much love dearest Julia. Debbie #20 xXx

Enjoy your tidying and sorting. If I didn't have Max then I doubt anyone else would be interested in my hobby room either! (Except to tell me what a mess it is!) xx Jo

Happy WOYWW. Spain looked glorious, as always. We still haven't managed to get on a plane (it was February when we were last there) - hoping for September. The only thing on my crafty table today are some rocks waiting for varnishing, so I can go out and hide them somewhere. Ali x #23

Hi Julia, Happy WOYWW. Well, you certainly left the rain in the UK last week! Glad you had a wonderful sunny break. I hope you have a lovely day sorting your ATCs. Mine are still in a box, along with last years. I want to put them out where I can see them, and remember the Crops, so may invest in a frame or two. Or I may come up with another idea - I just need to remember to write it down if I do, then I don't forget it! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #11

Hi Julia, glad you had a good holiday, we're off next Thursday for 10 days. Can't wait, lol. My desk ends up looking like that, but I'm afraid it's all down to me. Ah well. Love & hugs, Shaz #14 X

Your desk sure is full of "stuff". I find that when I clean mine off, it gets a lot of random stuff on it too. Maybe it's best to keep crafty goodies all over so there's no room for other stuff. LOL Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #26

What a shame you've come back to such bad weather, Julia. The only thing in it's favour is that rain makes the perfect excuse to stay home and craft. I hope there's lots of new goodies waiting to be experimented with among the stuff on your desk. And sorting out the ATCs sounds like another good reason for rain. Have a great week. Thanks for your visit, Julia, and for your hubby's good advice re the knives! Since I got them I've been really careful with them because they are razor sharp. It was just chopping chives... I've been thinking about using my bread dough blade to hold the chives and use that as a guide for the knife rather than my fingers. I shall have to do some experiments. I certainly don't want a repeat. Fortunately it's healing well but I'll have to keep it covered for a while as it's still quite tender. Sorry to hear you've also recently succumbed to a knife cut. I love cooking but it's a real hazard! I'm glad you liked the card I made for my friend. She loved it, and we had such a lovely lunch.
