What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 476

Well, this is a photo taken yesterday but my desk looks absolutely unaltered this morning. And will remain that way until tomorrow! I'm not complaining about the life that I'm leading, just how it seems to compresss whole days into just a few hours!
My lovely daughter has been home for a few days and I made her go through some of the photos waiting to be scrapped (the Snapfish envelope). She had to annotate names and such on pictures of her University friends etc. Very helpful because even if I leave room on a page for her to journal, it rarely gets done! So while she was doing that, I went through yet more old photos and made a quick LO, as you can see.  The Yellow Ziploc baggie at the end of my desk contains Project Life cards that I use for journal cards. I'm never going to do PL and could smack myself for buying them to be honest. But they were pretty and I thought Project Life and I would work together so well. Nope. Not sure why. Answers on a postcard please, if you know!
The bluetooth speaker is on the iPad stand because I had it in my hand when I picked up the ipad to take the picture. It's still there and probably minus any charge now.
Share and tell will you? It's nice to see that other desks are actually in use. I have a lunch date with a special family driving up from Wales......catch you at your desk later!

oh I wonder who that could be..... have a great time. Your desk is showing more signs of activity than mine; I must kick myself back into action. Glad you are intending to get some use out of the PL cards in some way... I don't get PL at all! perhaps it's because I don't have much L to PL about.... ha ha! Happy WOYWW and good luck with the photos!

Pl never got into that trend used the cards more as protection for cards or extra bits to mail off to people would never use them for what they are suppose to be, they do make great borders lol.

Mmmm I wonder who the lunch date could be? Now let me think ... Have a great time!
Must be lovely to have DD home for a spell, we mums look forward so much to such times. Enjoy whilst you can.
No idea on the PL things, I am hopeless at keeping a diary (did almost finish a Dylusion Dyary but bought one for when I finished it and it has stood idle since March). Advertising is such that it makes us buy these things and then we wonder why - a bit lie buying souvenirs from abroad. Where is that gondola from Venice and the Eiffel Tower I wonder?
Anyhow enjoy your lunch, enjoy your daughter and just have a great week.
Hugs, Neet (think it was 5) xxx

Good Morning Julia, sounds like you are in for a lovely day today.
At least I can see some productive activity upon your desk and direction of where you are heading next with it all, apart from the PL cards that is. Isn't it funny how we talk ourselves into *Needing* things. I've a zillion of these sorts of crafty items that I wonder why on earth I even thought of purchasing. Many before they have even arrived hee heee!!
Thanks for sharing WOYWW 476 & have super day

I really wanted to play today, but it took my sick body until Sunday night to visit everyone last week. I got so far behind, I don't think I'll ever catch up. Consequently, I had to lay out this week.

That's a HUGE container of photos. Miss Dunnit is going to be tired by the time she leaves this week. Somehow I SORT of "get" scrapbooking, but I never "got" Project Life. At least you have a way to use the cards and not let them go to waste.

Have a great week, dear friend.

Hi Julia,
I've never heard of Project Life but I do do a little bit of scrap booking now - I was given a beautiful Christmas album and it's just for Christmas pics over the years - up to 1978 now so still a while to go! Love the layout you've done.
Hope you have a wonderful time today,
Diana xx #17

Hi Julia, and give them a hug from us, please! Never got into Project Life either-probably just as well as I expect it would all be in a drawer somewhere, never seeing the light of day. Love the cheerful looking layout. Love & Hugs, Shaz #4 XxXx

I love the 'fast Layout' that's on my desk... I have trouble myself scrapping on such 'decorated/full' paper myself and yours is an inspiration! Enjoy your date, happy woyww and a big, warm, sweaty ;) hug from Holland, Marit #20

Hi Julia, I've been observing how time seems to fly too but you've put it rather better than I did - days do seem to compress into just hours! Lovely to have your daughter home and nice too to be able to have her check through the photographs. I like the idea of Project Life but find that usually fall back on making 12x12 layouts instead so I've started to use the PL cards on them - better than stashing them away never to be used. Give my love to that special family from Wales and have a great time together. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23

PS: Sorry, I somehow managed to make a mess of linking first time today!

Hi Julia, I think maybe we can all guess who your lunch date will be, photos next week?
I thought Project life could work out expensive and like you end up not using it! I have to be in the mood, Steve calls me Mañana woman!

Happy WOYWW, enjoy your lunch

Good morning, Julia.
Lunch with a friend sounds like a perfect way to spend part of the day.
I am finally getting started on my Project Life. I'm actually doing them for the girls because they are the perfect size for small hands to go through over and over. Another great use for some project life cards - CARDS! LOL if they have any kind of a border, stamp a sentiment, layer with a mat on the inside of your card. Pretty designs can also be a jumping off point for the front of a card design. Creative Blessings! Kelly # 25

Lookit you getting all that scrapping done! I fear I fell off the 100 days of scraping wagon, but I am nearly ready to get back on... just have to clear some space : D. Hope your week is lovely!

Have fun on that lunch date. So important to be with people you enjoy. Your top paragraph is my life completely..zoom half the day is gone. I just don't understand it. Very smart to have names and dates on those photos. I regret not sitting with mom a few years back and doing it. Have lots I have no clue about. Off for a walk. our day is simple perfect and I want some outside time while it is here. I've no clue on Project Life. but Life is my project I guess.

I like Project Life, although not the day-by-day, week-by-week idea of it. Having said that I have made only one PL album, with the intention of making more, so I have a stack of PL things on my office desk just waiting for me, someday! I like making my own journal cards from various journal pages that I have taken photos of before writing on them.I actually had the idea of a PL style album before PL even came out. Missed opportunity! Good for you getting your DD to write on the photos. We (meaning I) forget things so often nowadays! Have a great week, Lindart #29

Hi Julia, I had the same thought about PL..( I have a drawer of them) and I think the reason is, I like to do techniques and make my own backgrounds frequently and the other thing is, I look at them and want to lump them up ( the cards) so, I think if you did that they would not fit in the pockets very well. and so then sometimes I think ok, they could be the start of quick greeting cards but, I like to stamp and I have collected tons of them so, I never think about poking around in that drawer to use up some of them and then the funny part is there are duplicate cards in the packages. ( and I hardly ever make duplicate cards ever) so, that was one of those the grass is greener things I guess for me.

Happy WOYWW. I was determined to get my post typed up, but it has certainly been a busy day. Project Life - I also bought a few cards, but never used any of them. They will be put into use now that I am going to be using my Big planner for memory keeping. They will be ideal to cut up and stick in, along with photos and journaling. I have also seen them used as card toppers. After years of wanting one, I have finally ordered myself an Ipad and it arrives tomorrow. Couldn't afford the Pro, but got one of the latest 2018 models and it will be great to see how I can incorporate it into my crafty/blogging/techy life. Ali x #33

Hi, Julia! I am sorry to be late to the party this week, but completely forgot! I also think those PL cards are pretty and bought some on sale. I don't think I have used but one or two. I don't do project life either! :)
Anyway, I probably don't use them, because the pocket style is not my style, and I have so much 12x12 paper! Hope you had a great luncheon! Tootles! :)

I realize I'm terribly late, but better late than never! It's admirable that you scrap for your daughter with her uni photos. I guess it would work on a visual level, but she's the only one who can put the memories behind those photos! I can identify with your smack-myself-for-buying comment. I keep finding stuff wondering why on earth I ever bought them? I'm glad I'm not the only one making poor purchasing decisions! Wishing you a happy weekend, Julia! zsuzsa #9
