What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 473

It's a slower start to the day for me - we've been looking after Buster, our God-Dog, while my sissy had a holiday. He went home yesterday and so this morning I'm sort of revelling in the fact that I could stay in my unshowered state till lunchtime if I wanted to! I don't, because I've got plans, but it's strange not to factor in a walk before it gets too hot!
This side of the house is in it's own shadow until lunchtime, so quite cool to work in. You see the detritus of another scrapbook page, day 26 of the challenge yesterday and when I'd done it, as I so often do, I walked away without clearing up! The heart cookie cutter is one of three that I use as a template to dot gems or liquid pearls around. There's a photo of Mr Dunnit and I on a plane...last summer. It's horrible quality; all bad light and grainy, but I do like it! It will find itself on a layout eventually! Despite having a building site outside the door, I still have a bit of garden to look after, which accounts for the hose end in the basket at top right...new hose, waaay too many end choices!

Please share your choices and crafty areas if you have any, we wanna see what you're doing this summer....

Morning Julia. Good for you - a slower start to the hot day which is promised us. I like the papers on your desk and love all the cards you made in the previous post all from one sheet of paper. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

Morning Julia. Working while it's cool is definitely a good choice. I have already written 2 blog posts this morning and prepared all my lessons for cover next week while I'm in Berlin. I'm getting into training for sleep deprivation next week lol. Sarah #5

Wonderful that you can open your door and let in the summertime air. Here I would be eaten alive by mosquitoes and bugs. I'm enjoying the work done outside your window as much as I am your desk. I think that's a fabulous photo of you and Mr. Dunnit. Hope you have a super day with your mother.

A busy desk as usual, Julia. Like the idea of using the heart as a template to dot around - must remember that one. Love the photo. Hope you have a good day. I'm early this morning (was ready before your post went live) as waiting for hospital transport to arrive any time after 7 - alarm was far too early this morning. xx

There's nothing like having a day where we can take time to get the brain in gear whilst still in our pj's. How lovely dog sitting, we had the fortune to meet my Son's new dog over the weekend reminding me what an energetic pup can be like.. although i'm not sure our 11 year old lab has never had such energy!!
Look forward to seeing the scrap page using the #grainy photo..
Enjoy your day Julia and Thank you for hosting, wishing you a wonderful day and sunny days ahead.

Enjoying the cool in summer is always the right thing to do :) we will be getting a heat wave this weekend I see me hiding indoors from the sun. Guess I will either draw or hide in the basement gaming.

Sometimes, it would be fun to have a dog to get out and walk. But then, only when I want to get out and walk, not have to. Great to see you scrapbooking so much. I couldn't sleep, so here I am early! #10

Hi Julia, I must say the walking is good for you and having a dog makes you do. Our Maisie and Stan wont allow us to miss their walk or all hell breaks loose but I know if they're not here it's easy to say we'll not bother. I'm off to the gym next before it gets too warm so will do all my visits later. Have fun with the layout and a lovely woyww, Angela x13x

I’m all for making the best of a cool room while you can. It’s hot hot hot here so we’ve got fans going in the rooms we are busy in but it keeps blowing my fabrics lol. This is the weather I enjoy when I’m on holiday with nothing to do.....sat by the pool with a long cold drink eh? I can dream.
Hugs,

Oh I do miss having a dog but not in weather like this! I'm managing to water the garden and that's about it - however you've reminded me I really should get ordering a new hose head as water leaks everywhere from the old one and I end up getting more drenched than the garden!
Lovely photo of you and Mr D, and I love the decorative paper with circles on it - very pretty.
Hope you have a great week

Loving the box of sparkle. And that is a great photo of the 2 of you. Weather, it's turning hot here also 90/100 total extremes on all facets of our crazy weather. I feel so bad...I just can't get motivated for any walking, or outdoor activities. With water came bugs, biting bugs and allergies from the grass wetness But I do try to walk fast with a cart in all the big stores we go to !!! I'm trying to think "Sparkle"...in all parts of my life or the root of them will take me down. Have a good week and Happy WOYWW.

It's so strange having to worry about the heat and shade isn't it! I am making the best of it but it's just too hot to sit outside this week. xx Jo

Great idea of the cookie cutter! We're expecting the heat sometime by the end of the week. Looking forward to go on a nice beach walk then as it might be too hot to craft! Have a wonderful week! xo Cheetarah #26

Hi Julia, on the other side of hosepipes- I have one of those thin, stretchy ones for watering the stuff outside my kitchen. The part that attaches to the tap decided it was going to leak, so needed a new one. Then discovered no-one sells the fittings for the thin pipes, so had to buy a complete new one! Annoyed, a bit. Going back to last week, yes I did buy a couple of those Opalite pads- still sat there, I just don't 'get' it. And the Versamark Dazzles. I just use them like normal Versamark now, as I've not seen any difference between them & the original. Oh well. Love & hugs, Shaz #7 XxX

Happy WOYWW. I am not really getting any crafting done at the moment. Too much distraction outside in the sunshine. I did plan to get up early this morning and make some ATCs, but then my doctor prescribed a new allergy tablet which he warned would make me drowsy - and it was only the dog crying to go out this morning that woke me up! We intend to be without pets once our current aging crew are no longer with us. I will love the freedom to travel/have days out - and I will have extra time to craft! However, I treasure most moments I have with them, as time goes past so quickly. Ali x #27

Happy WOYWW, I see I wasn't the only one needs new glasses and couldn't see the photo!
I saw from a previous post you have been busy making cards from one piece of paper, brilliant work but I'm not sure I could find that many ideas for one colour

Good morning! I love the idea of using cookie cutters for templates! Especially since I haven't done a rolled/cut cookie in years!! Thanks! Stay cool, our heat wave is coming this weekend. Have a great week.

No photos of God-Dog? :((( You know how much we love pets! I would love a god-dog too though I'm not sure how Oreo would take it. I'm intimately acquainted with the garden hose as well (no, not that way!!!) as I have to water our newly planted hedge every single day otherwise they would die and it would be on my conscience. Fingers crossed there won't be a hosepipe ban! Have a lovely week, Julia! zsuzsa #23

HI Julia, at least you can still work in your garden around the construction zone :) that is always not fun tripping over stuff.
I have forgotten what you are having done outside. a shaded and cool space to work sounds lovely. ~Stacy #37

Good morning, Miss Julia
the scrapbooking bug seems to have hit me as well... I'm doing layouts at least. Haven't input pictures yet but I'm motivated :-D
My favorite hose end is still my old fashioned brass fire hose style.

Your summer sounds like mine - gardening, avoiding the heat, chores, and crafts! I do wonder, though, how hot "hot" is to you. We expect to be in the 90's this weekend. Have a great week!

I'm impressed with your scrapbook challenge! I try not to be outside from mid morning to late afternoon with the heat we're having. But seems interesting you have a hose end on your desk. Have a great week!

Sorry I'm late, think my post will explain everything!
It's very good when you're in the shade for part of the day isn't it?
I can understand about the morning walks being missed - I'm looking forward to a lie in tomorrow!! Just don't get thinking you need to replace the god-dog!!
Enjoy the rest of the week

Late start for me as well. The weather is so dreary here and quite off for it almost being July. It seems like it is always grey and raining these days and while you won't hear me complain that it isn't hot out, a bit of sun would be nice!
Happy day!

Hi Julia, I've popped back to answer your questions. I have pre stamped the book pages and in fact I did them ages ago and they've been sat in the folder waiting for me to do something with them. No kits here my friend! xXx

See I think one of the best things about scrapbooking is that it makes the most of those not-so-perfect photos which you love and which have a story to tell. Looks like a lovely picture from here :o) ps realised I was thinking of the Rumpelstiltskin story, not Rapunzel doh! You know, where she had to turn the straw into gold ... Annie C #18

What a great idea to use the cookie cutter like that. Mental note to self.
Dash it - I still haven't shown you my phone holder - ie deck chair - must try to remember for next week - am always in a rush and forget these things.
Wish this bedroom was on the other side - cooler in the afternoon and evening - might have to find the spare room later - on my own so it is cooler all round.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx

The blurry and kind-of 'failed photos' sometimes are the ones that hold the best memories... I totally understand that you want to preserve that on a layout! Using a (heart)shapes for the pearl-dots is a great idea, I will keep that one in mind! Enjoy the day Julia, and thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. Love from sunny Holland, Marit #28

God dog! Whatever next, Julia :) You're doing better than me with only scrap page detritus ... I really need to spend more time at my desk instead of partying with the family. I'm just watching someone wasting the contents of a loch spraying an upstairs window and it's open!!! Someone's going to be in trouble when his wife finds out. Sorry for that digression but I'm just astounded. If, like us, you have so few photos of you both together then that photo, grainy though it is, is extra precious and just has to be scrapped. Coincidentally, the EM is out now watering the garden with a new hose that also has way too many choices! Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #32

Nice busy desk as usual, Julia. So glad you can take advantage of the fresh air when it's hot. My studio is north-facing so it never gets too hot in there. I don't like too much heat! Thank you for your visit. I have been using inky kitchen paper for ages and have a pizza box full of gorgeous coloured pieces waiting to be used in projects.

Happy belated WOYWW,
