What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesay 469

Well I hope you really enjoyed the 9th anniversary workdesk hop, I certainly did, and I have loved the toing and froing of messages about ATCs and I've received some too, thank you! I appreciate your joining in, on the desks or with an ATC PIF, or comments..whatever!

I'm flirting with that 'make as many cards as you can using one sheet of 12 x 12 background paper' thing. I say flirting because I started with one patterned sheet and couldn't make it work, so started another. Now I wish I'd stuck it out with the first sheet, so could well have quite a few cards made by this tie next week!
You may well have a truly inspiring desk for me to see today - share away so that I can be enabled and copy your fab designs, please!

  1. your cards are always great so I hope we get to see how many you achieve - liking the look of the patterned paper you've chosen. So glad to be here to comment, it was touch and go for a few hours last night! (internet issues nothing worse!)

  3. Morning Julia. Flirting?? I'm shocked:-) Have often wondered about trying the same with a sheet of 12x12... Hope we see the finished products. Thanks for your lovely ATC. It arrived safely.

  4. Hi Julia, if you do manage to find the optimal way of cutting up a 12" x 12" sheet for card making please let me know, I am hopeless at that sort of thing. Thanks again for the ATC and for hosting us each week. Sarah #8

  5. Oh boy.. Flirting this early in the morning? Hee hee! I can't remember the last time I used pattern paper and if I do I end up using it to print over. I'm intrigued to see how you get on and look forward to seeing your finished results.
Thanks for hosting Julia & sharing WOYWW.

  6. I can't believe I overslept, Julia, after getting the post on my blog. I have never been able to cut a 12 X 12 sheet into anything except 4 X 4 squares. I'm simply no good at that, especially since I have very little 12 X 12 paper. I hope you find something you can make from the leftover bits you leave from your venture.

Hope you had a wonderful party last week. I'm just SO glad we "met." You have certainly expanded my horizons when it comes to stamping, but obviously not scrapbooking (grin).

  7. Not sure I can cope with flirting at this time of the day but I’m sure I will love the results when you share them. It sounds quite a challenge to use a whole sheet so I look forward to seeing what you make.
    Hugs,

  8. Hi Julia, I'm sure nothing will go to waste having said that I have so much patterned paper that now I am feeling guilty and must find use for them. Off to the gym now though I could have stayed in bed today and it's pouring it down too. Happy woyww, Angela x16x

  9. Hi Julia, the sun is still shining in Spain. I saved an article about making as many cards out of a piece of A4, think you would have to use A4 card and A4 paper to do anything worthwhile. Shall we have a challenge?

  13. My favourite thing to do with a single 12 X 12 sheet is turn it into a 6 X 6 shadow box. That makes zero cards though, so it wouldn't be good for your challenge, LOL. Did you get my ATC, Julia? I sent one to you as a surprise (got your address off LLJ) but the surprise might be mine if it got lost in the post. I hope not! Happy #469!

  14. Hi Julia, I like the backing cards on your desk. I like it when I can make more than one card at a time, with the left overs.

  15. Gorgeous papers - I love the one under your specs. Love the term 'flirting', I'll have to use that when I'm being indecisive, sounds much more positive!
Hope you have a great week,

  16. Hi Julia- One sheet wonders is what I think the US calls them.I should try, I have more patterned paper than is decent. Another 'seemed like good idea at the time' thing. I was shocked by the 47 years too! damn, where does the time go? Have messaged you with addy check. Enjoy Brighton, we went a few years ago and visited the Pavillion. What a marvel that is. Love & Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

  17. Happy WOYWW. That paper is lovely. I like to make up a journal/notebook from either a 12x12 or A4 paper. A quick and easy way to display photos or do a bit of sketching etc. Ali x #22

  20. Hi Julia, looks like all the flower prints are just so pretty. I am sure you will end up with a stack soon :)
I once received a "one sheet wonder" as a prize for something and I took it as a personal challenge to use up all the bitty pieces, they were all pre cut into puzzle sizes of odd rectangles and strips. It took me a while, and some ended up being 3" square to do it but, I did end up with a stack. (you know you can cut the paper more if you need to right?) :) ~Stacy #24

  21. HI Julia! Awesome pics of Spain! I love the blue pots against the white walls - beautiful and striking! Have fun with your cards, it's nice to have a lot of cards to fall back on when you need one! Today I pulled out a get well card for my brother's girlfriend, now I need to make more. Have a great week, Lindart #25

  22. Sorry it has been a while since I dropped by - time really has just flown away from me the last couple of months.
Sounds like an interesting task seeing how many cards you can make from one 12x12 - look forward to seeing the results.

  25. Hi Julia ... oh my, flirting so early in the day. I will flirt with some card making techniques this weekend! I've been using 12 x 12 paper in my scrapbooking albums, but I have lots of it, so I might challenge myself on how many cards I can produce with one sheet! I do like the paper under your glasses! Thank you for the ATC swap, it really was a lot of fun making, sending and receiving! Do we make and swap things for the Crop? I have the bug now... Have a lovely week Heather x #13

  26. Hmmm...sounds like a challenge! Let me know how many you get! I need to get out of the 5.25/4. panel, leave the scraps rut! I do like that bright floral paper! Have a great week.

  27. There's nothing like a good old 'flirt' and to do it with a project like that is really something.
Thanks for the past ten years - you are a star! (ewell, however long I have been playing)
    Hugs, Neet 4 xx

  28. That's quite a challenge, Julia, seeing how many cards you can get out of one sheet of 12 x 12! It will be interesting to see the results. Many thanks for your encouraging comment and lol at the make up for old ladies haha! Well, I am officially and OAP now I suppose! I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the scallop bunting and little plaque our neighbour made for us - he's a very kind man and also very skilled at all aspects of building, decorating, odd jobs, you name it - so convenient having him just down the road! Yes, I'm definitely on the mend, but really tired today after a couple of really busy days.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
