What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 424

It's a shambles. Still.
I'm doing that five minutes here and there thing, and it doesn't involve tidying and sorting. I will...because it's driving me nuts! You can see the Summer workshop schedule, which is there to prompt me to at least think about the next workshop. Below that, you can see a few packets...they are new clear stamps. And on the right next to the tape gun - there's a new die. All Christmas themed. Shopkeeper Gal made me, she said I needed them. The brown paper bag at left contains squashed pennies and other such nonsense souvenirs from the USA. The little wallet thing at far right is full of tickets and receipts from our hols...you'd think, wouldn't you, that I was getting ready to scrapbook! The truth is naturally, more to do with not having put them away properly!
Share your work space will you? Especially if you're feeling a bit smug about how tidy it is compared to mine!

  1. Hi Julia, I thought 423 was last week... so I've listed mine as 424...
I'm proud to say I have a pretty clear desk today **smug smiley face**

  3. Morning Julia. No smug face here either - although my desk is bare of crafty goodness, it's piled high with loads of other stuff!
    Take care. God bless.

  4. I need a schedule for all the "to do" stuff. Even if I made one I wouldn't stick to it so not a lot of point really. One day when I grow up I'm going to be super organised and focused. Yeah right ! As if that will ever happen

  5. Had to smile at the reference to the USA and the tickets etc. I think I still have little bags somewhere with tickets in from years ago that are still waiting to be scrapped. I too save all manner of things, receipts, the lot. Must be the hoarder in me- I don't seem to do much with them. Maybe a collage or two to go on my newly painted walls?

  6. You just know if you put your American bits away they may never get scrapbooked so let them linger and then.......maybe, just maybe you might scrapbook them 😂😂😂 Have a great week.

  7. My desk looks more like a Dumping Ground as well. Some of us just can't do tidy unless we get divine inspiration, which for me usually comes from the need to clear the table for dinner, but now that we can eat outside more often than not, the tidying gets forgotten and the mess just builds up to uncontrollable levels!

  8. Hi Julia, more Christmas stuff which is starting to worry me that someone thinks we should get started with festive cards! Pleased I'm not the only one that keeps bits of paper and tickets from the holiday, trouble is I now have too many unused! I try to tidy stuff away but then find I need them and can't remember where they are so given up on that one for the moment. Have a great woyww and a happy crafty week, Angela x9x p.s. must be early today!

  11. Glad to see that all is ok in the universe - your desk wouldn't look right if it was continually tidy! 😉 Have fun using the new stamps and die..I can't bring myself to say the C word yet, though certain festive cards were on sale at the National Trust shop at Rhossili the other day. Bah humbug!

  14. You'll get there eventually; it takes a while to get back into the swing of things when you've been away. Can't think about the C word yet LOL. Happy WOYWW Sarah #17

  15. I can never feel smug about my desk. It's always a mess. Maybe one day! I was reading your post last night about your visit here to the US and getting hungry. And I never realized we do seem to have cheese on everything! But I'm the queen of 'on the side' ordering! Glad you are home safe and sound!
    Have a great day!

  16. No smugness going on here, I can definitely relate! My desk is always in a state of perpetual stacks that need to be used or cleaned up. But do have a small victory to share as the stacks are getting smaller :) Have a great week!

  17. Hullo there dear Julia Dunnit, well well well, wha'dya know, but I had a parcel from England fair yesterday, from a certain Julia Dunnit... it had me quite puzzled and I had to explain the Julia Dunnit appellation too... quite understood once explained ;-) and contents were duly opened and oohed and aahed over, was utterly blown away by the kindness of two wonderfully caring folks.

Then later on I read down through your blog and found Kathys desk, wow!!! It is quite a crafty command centre isn't it, what a talented and well organised crafter. The texture and detail on her little book is special. I'm praying about what to use this book for to be honest. Want to make it something special.

Thanks too Julia for your wonderful snail mail, what gal doesn't love a good story??? especially when one quite unexpectedly (!!!) appear in it. I'm actually praying re going to US next year, in Sept but will only be going to Florida, which is like other side of country almost... I'm guessing. Geography wasn't studied in high school it was either history or geography. No guess which I chose.
Okay guess I might be going for the longest comment on today's post.
I'm only just over the cold and last two days were crazy full on. Glad to sit and breath after running around like headless chook. But wanted to post today. It wasn't optional.
Well, now... dear, sweet, caring Julia... to your desk.
Mm, am drooling over that die, there's something so eye candy like about Sue Wilson dies isn't there??? And your plans to scrapbook I admire, if prob won't emulate, love the list to spur yourself on...
I do that ALL the time, also add things to the days list if I've fifteen to put them on, and as done them now I can cross them off!!! Hah, who do I kid, eh? ;-)
Thanks for being here weeek in week out, O' Queen of WWOYWW, even when you're on hols... so many out there reading our blogs it's really humbling in a way, isn't it??? I feel it ..
    Happy WOWW!!,

  19. If I had taken my picture right after I removed my Copic markers and rack it would have made your desk look very tidy! But I did some purging and it almost looks scary for being tidy. And my garbage can is full and needing dumped. Happy WOYWW!

  21. Hello Julia. It must be time to think of Christmas cards! I have a few stamps but saw one that I really like but it would require a lot of coloring.
I really enjoyed your previous post about your trip. I hope more is to come!!

  25. Hi Julia, I love your desk. I'm thinking it makes us all feel like we are in good company! LOLOL My favorite bit is the new "Christmas themed die!" That darned Shopkeeper Gal....looks like she'd keep her opinions to herself! LOLOL Kudos to her, crafty misery loves company and why not try to pull others into our obsessed world so we don't feel so bad! LOLOL Can't wait to see your Christmas crafting with those! Blessings

  27. Christmas in July has become quite the thing. I am very happy to have no classes over the summer hols and might start thinking about it at the end of August.....or maybe not!

  28. Julia, I am real glad someone understood the pirate geocaching and as for the Corsa Ad campaign, I even got the car! Yep strapped hubby's bike to the back to go to Wales. You'd only know it was there when you look in the mirror, no drag on the car like a roof rack! Yep you are right about routine and crafting. If my son gets into uni I'll have LOADS of time for scrapping then! Empty nest here I come! Thanks for your comment made me smile, don't know where you get the energy to reply so wonderfully. BJ#16 wondering where LLJ is as she doesn't seem to have seen me waving yet! Really ought to have got someone to take a photo of me waving.

  29. thanks so much for linking me (and glad I could help...I just thought you were late posting not that you'd forgotten to hit publish!!)
I have 4 years worth of Wimbledon souvenirs now... one day (ha ha) I WILL do something with them!! Have a great week.

  30. I had to laugh... you bought the Christmas stuff because shopkeeper gal said you needed them. I can't decide if having such an enabler around is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm thinking gooo...!

  31. Hi Julia, no smugness here today; compared to mine your desk is looking quite organised, and you have space to craft too! It's July so Shopkeeper Gal is probably right, you need those Christmas related goodies. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24

  32. Gal was right - you definitely needed the goodies. Everything's looking organised enough to me, Julia. Enjoy your week. Hazel WOYWW 12 x

  33. I always enjoy seeing other people's desks, and yours looks very similar to mine right now. I clean it up and then all I have to do is make just ONE card...and it's a total mess....Organised....I'm NOT!

  35. At least you have some nice new crafty stuff to stroke and admire before it gets put away! My desk is still a crafting desert as far as I am concerned but I'm not grumbling - Ben is keeping me fit playing "chase me Nanny!" round the garden! x Jo
