What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 386

Shocking isn't it, how fast that week went by. For me it's because by Wednesday I was already planning Friday and my weekend of Crop Retreat. And I didn't get home till Monday lunchtime, which is as good a chunk of the week a I usually take to blog and do things to blog about! So my desk today, der Desker, is a transfer to the floor. Where my weekend waits to be unpacked and transferred back to my desk. This will be later this morning when I get sick of tripping over stuff.
I should add that this is not all I took. There's a rolling tote full of stuff too, I'm not exactly sure where that is at the moment. I suspect it was moved by Mr Dunnit to make some room for real work! And of course I took a weekend bag filled with too many clothes, I was equipped for all weathers. I didn't take any will power though, and have had an incredibly indulgent weekend. And so to pay for that...a fight with the newly washed jeans tomorrow, I bet!
I'll show you the fruits of my labours just as soon as I unpack 'em. Meanwhile, please show me yours. Post on your blog, with WOYWW in your title and link here for maximum exposure to those who love to see what you're doing!

  6. I'll be boring and say "won't take you long to sort that little lot out once you set your mind to it". I am so good at not practising what I preach. Maybe I should say "I will if you will".

  10. I will be mightily impressed if you shift that lot Julia, mine never seems to get off the floor or out of the basket it's been in when I've been to our craft groups. So as you can imagine there are WIP all over the house. Not that I have done much this year it's been real hit and miss.
And I'm saying nothing about your overindulging as we've just downed to tins of shortbread in three days eek !

  21. Sounds like you had an awesome Crop retreat... YAY for creative friends and gatherings. Newly washed jeans??? Ohmy... laying on the bed usually helps (but the first hour wearing it isn't that pleasant....) Good luck sorting the bags, enjoy your week. Happy woyww, big hug from Holland, Marit #28

  23. The first comment "what's on your Floor Friday" ~~ made me smile..we are all guilty, just not brave enough to share it. I relate to the newly washed jeans. The cold weather seems to bring on more tasty foods. I spoke too soon about nice weather...we have had a storm thru the night with high winds and lots of rain. I cannot see out there as yet as it is the wee hours of the morn, but we'll sure be gone and enjoy leaving the branch and leaf mess til a nicer day. Actually cold and the furance kicked on. Enjoy the retreat. Those are some BIG letters on that floor.

  29. Looks like you had a great creative time out, Julia!
The unpacking is always the part I like to adjourn too ;) But you're right: the tripping over stuff is really very annoying. Maybe this is a built-in mechanism with after-travel times: you reach a point where the unpacking and re-organising almost seems the most wonderful thing to do...lol

  35. What is my Big Shot doing in the floor across the ocean!! (just kidding) I just never get tired of seeing my crafty buds with the very same things sitting in my craft room, even though they may be thousands and thousands of miles across the globe from me. It really is like we are just down the street from each other in the same village! I'm sorry I've been missing for a couple of Wednesdays--sometimes my actual job gets a little busy and wears me out and I don't get to do my Wednesday desker thing! Which makes me not happy. But today I get to hop around and visit, right after I go to the kitchen and grab some coffee and breakfast. Just seeing all your lovely packed goodies though, makes me realize what a lovely time you had. Hugs! Sandy Leigh #44

  36. Hi Julia, now that's an interesting floor. I'm feeling the need to rummage through those bags - there's sure to be something in there that would be oh so useful :) Apologies for not being around for two weeks - too many other claims on my time, sigh. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #45

  37. I meant to say good luck with those jeans. I find the easiest way to persuade jeans on is to put them on whilst lying on the bed :) Elizabeth xx

  38. I am like trying to express the words of how amazing that looks to have hauled to your retreat. You even had a die cutting machine in the pile.
I am really impressed that you would have done something with all these tools and have stuff to show for it later.
( every single time I have ever been to a crop, I pack this things to do, and spend all my time listening to people talk of answering their how do I questions.) so, I have never came home with things that were made during that time and eventually I stopped taking much of anything to do.
So, that part that you hauled so much is like WOW to me hopefully you can wiggle into those jeans quick too :)

  42. By indulgent, you mean you ate too much? I guess that is why you will fight with the newly washed jeans. Well, I had an indulgent 10 days cruise and haven't blogged in over a month!!! Good to be back. :)

  46. Hi Julia, what a busy floor! :o) Mine looks like that most of the time - my long-suffering hubby dutifully hoovers the foot-square space in the middle on Saturdays, I think he despairs of me sometimes! Glad you had a fun weekend :o) Annie C #15

  47. Wow! That is a lot of stuff! You pack like me. Just think, if you unpack and put everything into it's place, it will be tidy...even just for a day! My art table is a perfect example of not putting anything away through several projects and the 8"x8" mixed media can barely fit.
I am so glad to be coming back WOYWW! The Creatives here are the sweetest ever! Hope you have a great week and I plan on being back next WOYWW! Hugs, Rasz

  48. With going to crops I often feel discombobulated because I don't unpack. I can totally relate to the floor situation. I hope you get it back together soon. ;-)
