What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 375

Well, taken yesterday mid afternoon, my desk is one of beauty. Seriously. It's bathed in sunlight. It's not piled high. It's not filthy. There's a pile of new stamps.
Yep. And there's evidence of actual work having taken place. The calculator is a left over from the quarter-end VAT that I've just done for work. Yawn. The drink is a caffeine free Diet Coke. I have had the pleasure of my gorgeous American nieces staying with me, so I bought stuff like Diet Coke, bagels, you know, things they would like. Seems that now they're both in their twenties they're over cans of fizz. So I'm doing what mothers often do. Finishing up. All 12 cans! Then there's the big red stone. It's in the process of being painted, obviously, hence the painty water at right. It'll become another doorstop, outdoor ornament, you know, a 'thing' . Don't know when though, because there's new stamps to play with and suddenly, I feel quite inspired! New stuff and the agreement with Shopkeeper Gal to try the odd workshop again. Nothing like it to get me going!
Share will you, let me see what your up to while I procrastinate. Leave you link here and as usual, please don't take this as an opportunity to promote product or advertise. Oh, and put the kettle on will ya - that Diet coke is out of fizz!

great red rock!! Glad you're thinking about crafting again (I am shopping again today even used them last night too!) shame your nieces didn't want the cans of coke, but hope you enjoy them! Fab that they came to stay though.

Oh shucks Julia, I have praised Tracy and her workshop and said about her new stamps. is that advertising and promoting? So sorry, did not think, just got carried away telling folks about her as I so enjoy her classes. Sorry.
Well, I wondered at first what the heck you were drinking! Thought the paint pot was your beverage of choice - then I realised it was the same as the red rock - doh. But then it is early.
I'll drink the fizzy stuff, hope it is "light" or even "zero".
Well done you on having had the surgery and already thinking of doing a class - good luck with it but please make sure you are well enough first.
Have a good week and enjoy those new stamps.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx

I'd rather drink the paint pot than the diet coke! How lovely to have your nieces staying. These kids just keep on growing up while we're not looking. Glad to see all things stamping on the verge of happening here.

What a lovely view of your desk in the sunlight. Lots of goodies to play with. Good job your drink was in a can - I've lost count of the times my paintbrush has ended in my coffee instead of the water pot LOL.
Have a super week.

Awesome. Looks like you are ready to roll. Yup, soda, especially diet, is getting kicked to the curb these days. Tea is always better. Wish I could take some fun inky classes with you. Have a great week. I probably won't get a blog post done. It has been hectic here. Peg R.

Don't make the mistake of drinking from the water pot - done that several times myself and it has a chalky taste. Glad to see you back in production. Have a lovely week x Jackie 17

I bet they are kidding you and they still drink diet coke and stuff just don't want to let on as they think it's just for kids! You're never to old to enjoy something like that or maybe you get to a certain age and just do it Lol! Pleased to see you playing at your desk but the Christmas stuff is a bit scary and getting me worried that I haven't made any cards yet. Happy woyww, Angela x 15

I was puzzling about your drink until I noticed it was the painty water I was looking at... and the drink is in the can... ha! Your desk looks indeed inspiring, love the new stamps! It may not be that sunny today but enjoy playing at your desk anyway: happy woyww! Big hug from Holland, Marit #26

Hi Julia, good to see that inspiration has struck. Stamps look cool, is that penguins I see? Wasn't the sun through the windows glorious? Although I have to say, I could have chosen a better time to try working with embossing paste & heat embossing, lol. Love and hugs, See you Sunday. Shaz #4 xxx

Happy WOYWW. It is so difficult not to advertise and promote in my WOYWW post, as I just get so excited about new purchases or things I have seen. I do keep away from including any of my 'business' stuff though. Lovely to see your desk being used - except for the VAT. Thankfully Rich does all of that himself for our farm business, so my calculator can stay covered up by lot of stuff on my desk! Loving the new stamps. Ali x #34

I had to smile when you mentioned your nieces were in their 20's, because I have a couple of American girls of my own. It's hard to keep up with their dietary likes, because of organic and vegetarian lifestyles. LOL! Anyway, it's good to hear your creative mojo is back in full force. It's always fun to get new artsy toys to play with too. Blessings!

So happy to hear that you are inspired to creative pursuits - nothing like creating a new workshop or getting new stash. That wiener dog stamp is so cute! Diet Coke is evil. I find it super addictive, more than any other brand of soda. I've quit a couple of times. Hubs just quit a month ago, so I have an occasional one to get rid of them. Don't want it every day though or I'd get hooked again. Blessings, LisaDV #28

Julia! Your desk is beautiful today. But more importantly, you just gave me the best idea!!! I have this huge scalloped stone that used to be part of a fountain in my mother's back yard. It's just laying up against my house now. But wouldn't it be fun if I wrote some inspirational words on it and painted it? I have no idea how to go about it, but maybe if I sent you a picture of it, you would have some thoughts? I know it's a stone...but it's special because it comes from my mom's. Anyhoo...best idea ever. And so fun you have American nieces! My daughter is 22 and she can't even drink soda anymore because it just messes with her stomach. Hugs! Sandy Leigh #37 or so

So sorry, I linked earlier and just realized I didn't comment! And this morning when I read your post I remember thinking the red stuff didn't look like a fizz drink and then got down further, and realized I was looking at your paint for the rock! LOL Your fizz was in a can. We buy stuff or our grand kids come and Christmas and then are stuck eating things like Cherrios after they are gone. Not a fan of that cerral at all! Anyway just saying "hi, Julia". #41
