What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 370

Hello deskers. I'm joining in! Linking over at Jan's lovely place still, I need to get into mthe habit of blogging and recognising weekdays before we swap back! Ain't it great to have a friend like Jan - she's Missus Flexible, I tell ya. So, to the business in hand:
It is a spectacular mess. I've been doing that pottering, trying stuff here and there, and then using my recuperative state as an excuse to leave it in a mess! I've colouring in. I have palsy on the right side of my face and can't close my right eye properly. Of course, I've got eye drops to stop it getting sore, but many many days the drops don't help, so I have to resort to an ointment. This of course, blurs my vision horribly. So the colouring in of various images is a test to see quite how well I can stay in the lines. Not terribly well at this stage! All is good though, thanks to so many of you for cheering me on.

Super messy Julia - great to see that you are 'pottering'.
I'm sure the dipping in and out of crafty bits on your desk will help with your recovery and help you to gauge how you are coming along. Lovely to see you doing a bit of crafting.

It's so good to see you joining in today.....and lovely to see you've been getting messy on your desk.....keep up the good work.
I have a dry eye problem that needs me to use something every night in both eyes and originally used lacrilube but like you said it blurs vision badly. My optician has advised me to use Hyco San plus++ ....it lubricates and heals and doesn't blur vision so may well help you.
Hoping your improvement continues for you. Sending you huge hugs.
Have a great week,
Hugs,

So good to see you join and even thinking of taking back the hop at one point - Jan's been amazing, but I'm sure she can't wait to hand it back soon - don't worry about the mess for now - creating agaian make a world of a difference in raising your spirits. Upwards and onwards!

Always a good sign pottering! As for the colouring in - go for the more 'fine art' technique of free and easy and chill - or am I going back to the days when our art teacher announced he was spraying fixative on the charcoal works if we wanted to gather round....... Have a happy week x Jackie 14

I'm glad you change your number as well! I was number 19 then when I cam to visit you I noticed I have been upgraded to 21 ...... and I never felt a thing!
The colouring bit: when you've finished it, get someone to cut round the lines and then your colouring is all inside.... cheat? me? well, if you can't win - cheat! That's my motto.
Keep up the good work, and the physio, concentrating on what I CAN do is my biggest help.
Love and hugs to you and yours
Take care

Good to see your desk even though I'm not joining you today! (off straight after lunch to the land of little connection - the caravan!) Isn't it arty to have colouring going over the lines?? May your recuperation process speed onwards! Hugs, Chrisxx

Hi Dear Julia our Queen of desks, so very nice to have you back WOYWWing again!! I'm not however due to family commitments and constant hospital or medical commitments but pooping around none the less.
Hope the ointment helps somewhat, I have to use an eye ointment daily too, mercifully mostly just at night, but so know what you mean about the blurriness. Had my ophthalmological appointment and tests today, am always grateful when they're done.
Sending you hugs and prayers daily for improved results during this recuperative period.

Hi Julia, big hugs to you, and well done for having the patience. Thats been my biggest problem- being impatient. I'm one of those with endless patience for others, and not a jot for myself, lol. Good to hear you are steadily progressing, and trust me, your colouring will be nowhere near as bad as mine! Lots of love & huge Hugs, Shaz#5 xxx

This is so exciting to see YOU post a messy desk, you go girl! :)
I am thinking maybe something even messier like water coloring where its supposed to go out of the lines or flow loose would be an idea too?

Glad to see you getting creative! It can only help the healing process..and coloring in the lines is overrated--in my opinion---that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Have a great week.

Hi Julia - so good to see you sharing a bit of crafty activity! I hope your eye problem improves but I must say I am hopeless at colouring in and I have no reason - other that complete lack of patience I guess. So glad your little pal Jan is keeping us all on track - she's a gem! x Jo

It's so wonderful to see you back in Blogland, Julia! Your major surgery requires little baby steps, but definite progress is being made! I would think the coloring would be a good yardstick to measure that progress and useful, too! Well done!! I also think I spy a large stack of cards filled with love and encouragement for you so you know we all have your back and are cheering you on to a full recovery!! See you soon! I'm down to the 10-day countdown!!!!! Love and hugs, Darnell

What a glorious surprise I got when I saw you joining in. I just popped in to say hello and there you are posting. Now don't do too much, please.
Sad to hear about the eye problem, must feel strange to not have it close. Or are you not aware of it? Can remember when I poked something in my eye and I had to keep visiting the hospital with a torn cornea (I think it was that) and I had to put some ointment in at one time, I didn't like it one bit because of the blurriness.
Anyway, you are colouring? Remember watercolouring does not keep to the inside of the lines so you can always pretend that is what you were doing. Incredibly brave of you to do it anyway.
Keep smiling and it is good to see you on WOYWW.
Hugs

What an excellent excuse for leaving things untidy. I don't have that excuse and I still leave things untidy. I hope the palsy subsides. I also hope you are feeling better and better and better. Lots of prayers coming your way. I hope you are back up and running at normal speed very soon.

Welcome back and I say if you are having trouble staying in the lines don't grab some watercolour paints and make it look like you did it on purpose. It will be your very artistic phase. Glad to hear your on the road to recovery your eye sounds like a huge pain may you be able to close it properly soon.

Julia, I am sorry to hear of your physical trials. I have been a lurker for a little over two years. You see, I have no blog and don't see beginning one in the near future. I have loved visiting the deskers, but don't often leave comments. However, I do wish to recommend something to you. I have been involved with essential oils in the last year and have discovered lemon essential oil is very good for problems with nerves (re your facial palsy). If you can get some therapeutic grade lemon oil and apply a drop or two a few times a day to the right side of your face, you may find that recovery is sped up. I do believe in holistic medicine and hope that this can help you.
