Making like a DT member!

Way back before the medics rendered me lazier and less motivated than normal, I had an email convo which ended up with the arrival of some bits and pieces to use in my  crafting from Create and Craft, a cable TV channel and a website: createandcraft.co.uk. I must say I was surprised by the request, and apart from the attraction of some more stash, I was quite curious as to the nature of their intended promotion.

I was sent a pack of fifty various shaped edge A5 cards and a pad of printed, foiled sentiments (Hunkydory), a bag of alphabet beads, three reels of gorgeous organza ribbon and some stick on pearls. I think that selection is probably a good cross section. Anyway, with freedom to do pretty much anything, inevitably, I had blank page syndrome. Coupled with all the hours I've spent just sitting around these last few weeks, thinking about getting back to my desk,it was a bit embarrassing! When I finally did, it was so nice to sit in a different chair and take an interest!

Overall these were a bit of a challenge for me, which is a good thing I know. I don't stray far from the standard C6 card size, greater mortals are brilliant at the bigger cards and so I stay safe. And then there's the patterned edges. Oh my, I'm still scared of them - I think they dictate style and genre for a card immediately. Of course they don't, but I do think they make a particularly good frame for cards featuring die cut images...you know, the old more is better thing!

Lovely cards, Julia. When it comes to crafting you are doing rather better than I am at present! Your example is giving me a much needed kick up the proverbial. Keep well. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

great looking cards! Love all the edges but like you I think they dictate what should be one them in my brain anyway. Glad to hear you changed chairs and are 'arting' again.

I was delighted to see you are creating art again. Since I don't make cards, these look absolutely spectacular. I was also delighted to see that Julia sense of humor shine through. Truly lovely cards and great post. Really enjoyed the "hugs."

Hey Julia, good to see you back at your desk making stuff. My bestie JT is also not a fan of detailed edges, she too feels it dictates what you make :) Cx

Lovely cards Julia. It's great seeing you create.
I must admit, I find fancy edges a challenge. I bought a load in a sale a couple of years ago and have hardly used any of them so well done you on getting stuck in to that stash.

I am so glad you are up to a bit of crafting again! I have been absent from Stamping Ground for ages, I am so very sorry! Will try and keep up with you now! Loving your cards today, it's cool getting outside your comfort zone. I looked at your last post, enjoy your visit with Darnell, I will be seeing her on the 19th and am beyond excited! Take good care of yourself. xxx

I like shaped cards... right up until I have to make something on them. Then I think, leave that to the other folks. You've done quite well with these. Whoo hoo! Great to see you up and creating again.

I think they look great. I stick to smaller card sizes too. Someone at work asked me to make a bigger card and I said - NO WAY. Do you know how hard it is to come up with something to decorate this small space? I just added paper inside so more people could sign. Great job.

What pretty cards and how opportune that they arrived when they did. Great therapy for you and a stack of cards to use when needed as well. Can't be better.
So nice to see you up to crafting but don't overdo it.
Hugs, Neet xx

Those are beautiful Julia, glad to see you back in the saddle.
I bought a pack of those cards but don't think I have done anything as pretty with them.
