Today, I'm mostly....

...staying indoors. Doing 'stuff'!
This picture makes me smile. Because it means that I don't have to go anywhere or do anything in particular. Mr Dunnit does the snow driving in the big heavy van. I will and can drive in snow, but Mr D gets all cave-man and protective about it, so I revel in that instead. And that makes me smile too.
Annie over at a Stitch in Time is asking for your smiles...take a pic and join in with her..smiling is good for you.

  1. Aaaaw, don't you love it when they go all caveman over something you would prefer not to do? LOL Like going up in the attic... ;) Love your smile today... though I would prefer you keep that snow down that way!!

  3. This DID make me smile - both the picture and the post too. Sometimes having a caveman around is handy!

  4. :)

Driving in snow is fun (most of the time at least) - but our men getting protective and cave-men is too...always makes me smile - for two reasons: the man turning into the "ordinary day hero" AND the safety feel it gives.

Thanks for that lovely post, Julia!

    Greetings from snowed under Vienna,

  6. And this made me smile too! Snow is pretty, but a lot of work. You have the cutest little car. And I love the big windows. It was 48 yesterday, today is 45 mph winds and below zero. Weird changes...No precipitation forcast. Have a good one.

  10. My Mr Macho has gone out for some shopping, only after I told how ridiculous he looked sat on the sofa in his bob hat, scarf, gloves, rug round his legs reading his country music magazine. Even the dog looked at him as if he was batty.
Told him to put the heating on and tight beggar said it was to early.
    Enjoy your day Julia x

  11. I always enjoy the view outside your window! Just look at all the snow. We also just had a bit of snow; first of the season. Only 4-5 inches and gone mostly in a day but welcomed by this old lady!

  14. You gave me an extra smile today, Julia. My brain is obviously sinking under all that snow. When I first saw this picture, I thought you had drawn something on the bonnet of the car, then I realised it was actually on your window - duh! We have not even tried to move either of our two motors, even though they are both 4x4's but then we would have to deal with all the others on the road who have never seen snow before. We are tucked up cosy and comfortable, watching Mamma Mia again on DVD, with a nice warm drink. xx Maggie

  17. Glad the snow is in your garden and not mine - well, not as much, and it's almost gone here. Looks like that butterfly has landed on your car, must be the frost-hardy variety.

  20. Such a gentlemanly husband. We are very lucky to have them. Mine has got his gear ready for the snow coming to Glasgow tonight. Believe it or not, we haven't had any yet. He wants to have the drive cleared for me before he goes away tomorrow night (If Heathrow let any planes land!)

  21. So jealous, I mean seeing green jealous. It was in the upper 50's today. Snow used to be something that we had regularly over the winter, it gave me peace of mind and yes time inside. Now, I constantly see all the gardening that needs to be done and well that interferes with creativity!
    Lucky, lucky lady!

  26. Wow! That really is a blanket of snow!!! I've never seen snow falling but my brother, who was in Mongolia recently, shared that he was so amazed that snow really comes down in intricate snowflakes. He took pictures of them. That is something maybe you take for granted, but we here in the Philippines think about in wonder! Patsy from

  27. What a lovely other half you have. And what a delightful picture. Of course I only like to look at pictures of the snow, not walk or drive I it.
    Stay safe.
